After my team calmed down, we had to take part in the award ceremony.

"One, two, three — CHAMPIONS!" we shouted, lifting the trophy and taking a ton of photos. As we were leaving the stage, a woman stopped me and said:

"Hi Hiro, I'm Mio Kobayashi, a TV reporter. Could you give us a few minutes of your time?"

She had a cameraman right behind her.

"Okay," i answered. I was the MVP of the tournament — this was probably just routine.

I followed them into an empty room, and the interview began.

"Hello everyone, I'm Mio Kobayashi, and I'm here with the star of this tournament, Hiroki Saito," said the reporter as she turned toward me.

I just nodded and said casually, "Hey."

"So, Hiro, what do you think of this tournament? Your final fight against the prodigy from Tokyo was amazing — like a real battle between samurai!"

Come on girl, ask a question and give me time to answer...

"Yes, it was an exciting match. My opponent was really good , with an excellent technique. And this tournament was a good challenge," i replied, not entirely truthfully. I mean... I can't tell her all the other participants were trash, can I?

"Hiro, are you going to join the U-15 national team after this? I heard you refused to join the U-12 team in the past."

Oh, now you're fishing for gossip, huh?

Now that I really look at her — she's young and pretty. The perfect combo for this kind of job.

"Yes. Back then I didn't join the national team because I felt it was too early, and i wasn't sure what I could contribute. As for the future... who knows?" i answered mysteriously.

Nice try, girl — but I'm not giving you a thing.

She looked a little disappointed, then hit me with a real question:

"Tell me, Hiro, what do you think about people with Mutant-type Quirks who want to compete in kendo?"

Oh. That's a good one.

This is a huge issue. People with Mutant-type Quirks often have physical advantages, so they're not allowed to compete in traditional sports. You'd think that in a world full of Quirks, society would've created new inclusive leagues by now, right?

Nope. Sadly, the world's still pretty damn racist toward people who look different.

In the cities, it's a bit better. But in the countryside? It's awful. I've even heard of them being hunted.

Racism exists in every version of the world — first it was about skin color, now it's about body type.

"Yes, I think they should have a chance to compete," I said.

"For those with clear physical advantages from their quirks, the federation should create a separate category. And maybe create another category for anyone who wants to fight — whether they're a normal person or someone with a mutant-type quirk."

I looked at their faces, they were stunned. They didn't expect a kid to have strong opinions like that.

After that, the interview wrapped up.

"You've got some good ideas, kid. And you're not intimidated by these topics," said the reporter, nodding. The cameraman silently agreed.

"Well," I said with a grin, "change is already here. Even if people aren't ready, they'll have to face it."

And with that, I walked back to my team.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Tokyo...

"Wow... this kid has great ideas. No prejudice at all."

A strange figure muttered, typing at a sleek computer. He looked like a small mouse, covered in white fur, dressed in a neat black suit.

"Let's see... Hiroki Saito, huh? Very strong athlete. Loyal. Determined. He'd make a perfect hero."

The mouse-like being kept scrolling through Hiro's files — like some kind of fanboy with a mission.
