Chapter 11
Chapter 11 – A True Broadcast Legend (5)
—–CROW—–
“It’s finally here.”
– Wow, it finally dropped.
– A month of hard work, hyung.
– Congrats, congrats, congrats.
– Wow, she finally got it.
– Sooner than expected.
[‘DemonKingFourMajorInsurances’ donated 150,000 won!]
– Finally, I feel relieved.
She put the glove item in her hand into her inventory and spoke.
“FourMajorInsurances, thank you so much for the 150,000 won. I used up almost all my magic power, so I’ll do the reaction later. Wow, I don’t know how long it’s been since I changed equipment. I thought it was bugged.”
– Can she challenge the next floor now?
– Solo raiding is impossible, no matter what.
– Even Poka-hyung can’t do that. The next floor isn’t a joke.
– But Poka is definitely rank 1 now, right?
– Full set of semi-mythical gear with perfect options is legendary.
– Now she needs to find party members.
“Phew, Seolhwa got Parasitic Plant earlier, right? If we find a few more people, we can try to clear floor 86, don’t you think?”
[‘RescueRequest’ donated 2,000 won!]
– (Switch clip)
“What’s RescueRequest?”
She played the oddly named video donation, and the voices of two people she knew started playing.
“Oh, please. I was wrong.”
“Come here and try some. It’s better than you think.”
“Ugh, wait! Wait!”
“Ugh, uhh…”
“Ehehe, uhh…”
“Uh, huh? WhiteStar-nim? Are you crying?”
“Sob… Sniff…”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake.”
– Seolhwa crossing the line again, lol.
– Rage, lol.
– Tears, oh la la.
– The ghost of slime jelly…
– I knew it from the moment she fed her mint chocolate.
– She made her cry, lol.
“Why is she making someone cry when she’s supposed to be apologizing?”
As soon as she saw the clip, she used her map item to pinpoint the location shown in the video.
“When was this?”
– Just now.
– What? It says she died.
– Slime suffocation, crazy, lol.
– ?????
– Seolhwa killed a newbie, shocking.
– It’s true, lol.
“What do you mean, died? Did she really die eating slime?”
She looked at the chat, which was saying unbelievable things, and started moving towards the location in the video, half-believing, half-doubting.
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
“Huh? What happened?”
– ?????
– Lol.
– The streamer’s a pufferfish.
– She actually died from that.
– Broadcast genius strikes again.
– Experiencing death by slime in Experience Mode…
– This broadcast is truly legendary.
[You can restore your character upon death at level 1. Would you like to restore?]
[Yes/No]
“You can revive at level 1? Yes.”
[Restoring character ‘WhiteStar’.]
[Character restored. Character regeneration cooldown removed.]
“Wait, what just happened?”
– You’re asking us?
– How did she die?
– Pufferfish streamer, lol.
– Cause of death: Slime jelly.
– My stomach hurts from laughing, lol.
– Poka-nim is currently on her way to catch Seolhwa in a rage.
“Oh, Poka-nim?”
– The clip of what just happened was sent to her, lol.
– Wait, who sent it? Lol.
– Justice10hyun ^^7
– But WhiteStar-nim crying was cute.
– I saved the clip in case it gets deleted.
“Was I that weird? I don’t remember much because I spaced out.”
I understood having a sensitive body. But why was the body sensitive even *in the game*? I couldn’t understand it.
Was that also scanned and inputted?
“Anyway, I should never eat that weird jelly again.”
Making that resolution, I was about to log back into Simple World when a clip arrived.
[‘RealTurtle’ donated 2,000 won!]
– (Switch clip)
“Huh? Unnie, how did you know I was here?”
“Ack! Wait, I’m level 1! I’ll die!”
“You’re practically begging to be killed, you idiot.”
“Oh, right, I can die at level 1.”
“Now, let’s cool our heads.”
The clip ended with Seolhwa-nim being dragged to a great height and falling to her death. It must have been terrifying to fall from that height. Was that what happened if you messed with Poka-nim?
“This is slightly horrifying. Well, she brought it on herself, but…”
– Lol.
– “Let’s cool our heads,” lol.
– ? Wait, why did Byeol-nim die?
– I don’t even know how to explain this.
– Go watch the replay.
– The clip’s view count is skyrocketing, lol.
– Lol.
“I’ll contact Seolhwa-nim.”
I called her on CubeTalk. Since Seolhwa-nim was also dead, she should be able to answer, right?
“Huh? A group call?”
But my call was rejected, and immediately after, a group call invitation came from Seolhwa-nim.
I checked the group list, and Poka-nim and Seolhwa-nim were there.
“Ah, were you on a call? Hello?”
“Hello, WhiteStar-nim! Listen to this… Poka-unnie…”
“Ah, I saw the clip of you falling. You looked like you were having a lot of fun.”
“Pfft.”
Seolhwa-nim’s teary voice was mixed with Poka-nim’s laughter.
Somehow, I ended up on a call with Poka-nim.
“Hello, Poka-nim. I’m WhiteStar, a rookie streamer.”
“You don’t have to say that. Who wouldn’t know the Heavenly Demon? You’re a hot streamer these days.”
“Hot, you say…”
– She *is* hot, lol.
– !CubeOn
– www.cubeon.com/channel/zn_prayer
– Wait, she has a CubeOn?
– There’s an edited version of the last broadcast.
– Nice.
“Ah, right. I made a CubeOn channel.”
“Oh, really? I’m going to follow you right now.”
“Apologize to WhiteStar-nim first.”
“Yes… I didn’t know you’d hate it so much. I’m sorry. I really like it.”
“It’s okay. It seems like you’ve been punished enough. I teased Seolhwa-nim a lot too…”
“Just come in. I’ll pick you up.”
After I logged into the game and told them my location, Poka-nim and Seolhwa-nim quickly came running.
Since Seolhwa-nim’s character was newly created like mine, her equipment was fairly ordinary. But Poka-nim was decked out in impressive-looking gear.
“Wow, a veteran.”
“Don’t make it sound like Seolhwa isn’t. She’s a veteran too if she raids her storage.”
“Still a beggar compared to unnie. Oh, did you finally buy those gloves?”
“No, there were no listings, so I farmed them myself.”
“Crazy dedication.”
I scratched my head as I watched the two of them have a conversation I, as a newbie, couldn’t understand.
Those gloves must have been really good.
“Anyway, let’s go to Placio. I booked a table for four, thinking we could probably find one more person. What do you think?”
– Oh, Placio.
– She made a reservation.
– Whale on.
– How can you even afford that?
– It’s so expensive.
“We have to go. Oh, then what about WhiteStar-nim?”
“Even if I don’t go, we have to take WhiteStar-nim. WhiteStar-nim, I’m treating today, so please join us. I want to make it up to you, and I’d like to treat you.”
“Oh, thank you.”
“Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve been to Placio. Do reservations usually go through that quickly?”
“I contacted them just in case, and there was a cancellation. I got lucky.”
“But what is Placio that makes Seolhwa-nim so excited?”
“It’s a high-end restaurant run by real-life chefs in Simple World. It’s omakase style, and it costs about 200 million Rooney per person.”
Rooney seemed to be the in-game currency. I glanced at the chat to see if any viewers would explain its real-world value.
– So how much is that?
– It was 180 million when I went recently.
– Roughly 100 million Rooney is 100,000 won, so…
– Think of it as around 2 million won.
– Oh shit, lol.
– That’s expensive even for a high-end restaurant in real life.
– Lol, Simple World ingredients are expensive depending on the type.
– Honestly, it’s a hobby. There’s not much profit.
“2 million won?”
I was startled by the hefty price tag. I’d never spent that much on a meal in my life.
“That’s why Seolhwa likes it so much. Even we don’t eat there often. Today, I’m treating because I got a much more expensive item, and I’m in a good mood.”
“Even if they offered 1 billion Rooney, no one would sell the item I got, so this is nothing.”
“10 million won?”
“Top-tier items cost around that much.”
It felt awkward to refuse when she was offering. Besides, refusing without a good reason would just make things awkward.
“Oh, then I’ll gladly accept.”
And the experience of going to a high-end restaurant in a game seemed quite interesting.
“Okay, then we just need one more person. Is Luna streaming right now?”
“Don’t we have to invite her?”
“If you’re so worried, don’t eat.”
“Ah, well… But she’s probably playing a game.”
“I don’t know, I’ll call her.”
There was something pointed in Seolhwa-nim’s tone. Were they not on good terms with Luna-nim?
No, judging by her reaction, even during a broadcast, it seemed more likely that they were close.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Luna.”
“Poka, what’s up?”
“I’m streaming right now. Are you streaming too?”
“Yeah, I was playing Eternal War, but I’m taking a break now.”
“Want to go to Placio?”
“Placio? Is Poka treating?”
“Yeah, I got Anton’s Gloves.”
“Oh, you got those? Congrats!”
“So, you’re coming, right?”
“I’ll join. Where should I go?”
“It’s almost reservation time, so come straight to Placio.”
“Okay.”
After the call ended, we slowly made our way to Placio. This area felt a bit more secluded.
“Oh, is this it?”
“Looks fancy, doesn’t it? I come here sometimes because I like the food.”
It certainly was fascinating. There were even high-end restaurants like this where you could eat inside the Cube.
“Oh, right. WhiteStar-nim, you have to turn off Experience Mode before you go in.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yes, most high-end restaurants prohibit it.”
That made sense. If everyone watching in Experience Mode could share the taste, it would diminish the value. I hadn’t thought of that.
“Hi!”
“What, are you rerolling?”
“Yeah, I haven’t gotten any good abilities yet. I’m trying whenever I have time.”
Luna-nim, who appeared in front of the restaurant, was wearing the default clothes, like Seolhwa-nim. Her current race was Sera.
“If possible, please go for tank or healer. Seolhwa is DPS.”
“What, are you done rerolling?”
“Yeah, I got Parasitic Seed.”
“Oh, congrats.”
“Why does it feel bad when *she* congratulates me?”
“That’s because Seolhwa is twisted.”
“Yeah, shut up.”
– Lol.
– That’s Luna hate.
– But Luna is rerolling?
– Lol.
– It’s my first time seeing Luna reroll.
– You’re rerolling with *that* luck?
The chat’s reaction was strange. Couldn’t Luna-nim reroll if she wanted to?
“But didn’t you get a good ability last time? Why are you rerolling?”
“I only got one. I’m aiming for a set of two.”
“You’re crazy.”
– Crazy, lol.
– A different level of thinking.
– That’s insane.
– Sounds like something Luna would do.
– Other people reroll because they can’t even get one, lol.
– I never even thought of that.
So, most people reroll hoping for just *one* good ability? Everyone was surprised because Luna-nim already had a decent single ability but deleted it to aim for two.
“It seems one good ability is enough.”
Oh, right. I had to introduce myself.
“Hello, Luna-nim. I’m WhiteStar, a rookie streamer.”
“Oh, hello. I’m Luna.”
How could I break this awkward silence? When I met Poka-nim earlier, the situation was different, so it wasn’t like this.
“Let’s go in and talk later.”
“Right, I’m hungry.”
“Bullshit, I know you ate chicken this morning. And you don’t even get full from eating here.”
“Hmph.”
– Lol.
– Extreme Luna hate.
– Look at Seolhwa’s damage output.
– Is that the same Seolhwa who was getting beaten up earlier?
– Lol.
– “Hmph,” lol.
– They haven’t changed.
Judging by the viewers’ reactions, it seemed this was their usual dynamic.
Poka-nim also seemed used to this atmosphere, chuckling to herself.
“Table for four? Right this way.”
We followed the staff member to our room. There were already some dishes prepared on the table.
“On the left, we have crackers topped with Kapo eggs. And on the right, we have Dapo yukhoe. The key is that it’s uncooked but detoxified.”
After a brief explanation of the dishes, the staff member left the room.
It felt like I’d just heard something incredible.
“Kapo and Dapo… are those monsters?”
“Of course.”
I’d asked because I had a feeling, and I was right.
It made sense. They were delicacies you could only enjoy in the game, so why not?
“Everyone, dig in. Let’s talk while we eat.”
“Ah, thank you. I will.”
– Wow, the visuals.
– Looks delicious.
– Dapo yukhoe??
– I want Kapo eggs.
– Should I make a reservation?
– Oh la la.
“This feels so strange.”
I picked up a cracker and put it in my mouth. As I bit into it, the Kapo eggs popped with a crackling sound, as if something was tapping against the inside of my mouth.
“Huh?”
I was startled by the tingling sensation.
It was a novel experience, like the popping candy I used to eat, with something bursting and tickling my mouth.
It was a bit ticklish due to my sensitive body, but it was bearable. This was a really unique taste.
“This is really good.”
Beyond the novelty of the ingredients, the food itself was incredibly well-prepared. The skewers I ate on the street were delicious, but *this* sauce was on another level.
“Then this must be next, right?”
I picked up a chopstick full of Dapo yukhoe and brought it to my mouth.
