The Strongest Dragon in the Era of Beast Taming

Chapter 793 - 787: The Limit of the Beast

Chapter 793: Chapter 787: The Limit of the Beast

“Class VII middle-level?”

Tracy Harvey was initially stunned, but then, she immediately reacted and put on the Senior Arcane Glasses to look at Rainbow.

[Normal Arcane Force Value: 25,670,000!]

Seeing this terrifying arcane force value, which only a Class VII Emperor Dragon should possess, Tracy’s mind was somewhat bewildered.

It turned out that Rainbow had not evolved into a Class VII upper-level Overlord, but into a Class VII middle-level Emperor Dragon!

But this completely defied the law of conservation of arcane force in beast evolution!

It’s important to note, during the experimental process, she used Fossil Refining Blood and Red Crow Essence Blood in an effort to emulate Dr. Lee’s research approach and extract a hint of the power of destruction.

And with that opportunity, she allowed Rainbow to profoundly comprehend the rule of destruction to prepare for its future evolution towards destruction – not to cause Rainbow to evolve right away.

But exceptions always exist.

In nature, the arcane force of diverse and distinctive types can trigger unique evolutions in beasts, and the power of destruction, being one of the origins of everything, naturally is no exception and also possesses the effect of inducing pet evolution.

However, pet evolution requires an immense amount of type-specific arcane force and corresponding pet resources. Tracy believed that a hint of the power of destruction was not enough for Rainbow to take this crucial step. Of course, low probability does not mean absolute impossibility.

That Rainbow could trigger Evolution Light from the conflict between ice and fire indicated a fitting affinity with the power of destruction, showing a terrifying potential for future evolution into a Destruction Demon Dragon – this, Tracy could understand.

But what she didn’t understand was how, without the aid of top-grade pet resources, Rainbow managed to bridge the immense arcane force gap brought about by the bloodline evolution of the Emperor Dragon.

“Miss Tracy, is there something wrong?” David Jones asked, puzzled.

“It’s nothing,” Tracy shook her head slightly, then said truthfully, “I underestimated Rainbow’s strength; I just thought it was a Class VII upper-level Overlord.”

“Indeed, Rainbow’s normal arcane force value is slightly higher than a typical Overlord’s. Without the Spiritual Eye, I would find it difficult to clearly discern the specific strength and rank,” David Jones said as he patted Rainbow on the head.

“By the way, do you have any interest in pursuing a doctoral research degree?” Tracy shifted the topic.

“Me?” David Jones pointed to himself, his eyes showing a hint of surprise.

To become a research doctor, one must have scholarly achievements that are highly acknowledged by the industry. But he wasn’t even a researcher yet; how could he compete for the highest academic degree in the research community?

“Yes,” Tracy nodded and explained, “Typically, for a top-grade researcher to earn a doctoral degree, deepening the theory of pet evolution, advancing the field of pet evolution, and creating a stable evolution route map for Emperor species is required.”

“You lack these, but you have your own strengths!

Results are everything in the research community. Although Rainbow’s evolution into Emperor Dragon is an extremely rare case and nearly impossible to replicate with ordinary Flood Dragons, if our research project is successful and we manage to develop an unprecedented route of evolution for the Destruction Tyrant Dragon, securing a doctoral degree for you will be a piece of cake.”

“If you agree, I can contact the higher-ups of Rosewood College and extend to you a…”

“Hold on, Miss Tracy,” David Jones, getting more and more confused as he listened, couldn’t help but interrupt, “What Emperor Dragon evolution? Rainbow’s current species level is Quasi-Emperor, still within the Overlord category!”

Upon hearing this, Tracy was taken aback, looking at David Jones with some surprise.

What Quasi-Emperor species?

It’s well known that according to the Trainer Guild’s published species level arcane force table, there are only Overlords and Emperors.

The normal arcane force value for a typical Class VII Overlord species is between 12,000,000 and 20,000,000, whereas it’s between 20,000,000 and 40,000,000 for a Class VII Emperor species; there’s simply no such thing as a Quasi-Emperor species.

And yet David Jones called a Class VII middle-level Flood Dragon with a normal arcane force value of up to twenty-five… no, now twenty-eight million eight hundred thirty-three thousand an Emperor, within the Overlord category?

Tracy fixed her serious gaze on David Jones, noticing that he wasn’t joking, and her heart couldn’t help but waver.

Since ancient times, there have been different perspectives within the Trainer Guild regarding the ranking of beast species levels.

Most research doctors believe that based on the Energy levels contained within the Beasts, that is, the height of their Normal Arcane Force Value, coupled with the strength of their bloodline, one can roughly discern the upper limits of a Beast’s strength, which is the Species Level.

However, some research doctors also think that the evaluation of Species Level should take multiple factors into account.

Besides the Normal Arcane Force Value, willpower, true spirit, Species Skill, and special Talents can all determine the upper limit of a Beast’s strength.

Unfortunately, factors like willpower and true spirit are hard to detect, so over time, the domestic Trainer Guild predominantly used the Normal Arcane Force Value to judge the Species Level of Pets.

“Interesting, what exactly limits the upper limit of a Beast?”

Tracy Harvey’s mind suddenly sparked a hazy intuition as she thought of the Semi-Emperor Species theory David Jones had just proposed.

Unfortunately, this flash of intuition was too vague, and she had not fully grasped it yet.

It made Tracy feel an intuition that if she could unravel the mystery of the Semi-Emperor Species that David Jones mentioned, she might be able to break the shackles limiting the upper limit of Pet strength.

“Miss Tracy, what’s wrong?”

Noticing something amiss, David Jones waved his hand in front of Tracy Harvey.

“I have a hypothesis that needs verification, do I need to arrange for a vehicle to take you back first?”

Tracy Harvey’s brow was furrowed tightly as her pen flew swiftly over the paper, leaving behind a string of arcane and indecipherable words, completely immersed in contemplation.

“No need, carry on with your work.”

Seeing this, David Jones decisively stood up to take his leave.

He had seen Miss Tracy in this state a few times before; it was not suitable for communication at all.

As for the Doctorate that Miss Tracy had proactively mentioned, David Jones was not interested for the time being.

“Strange, why is the research institute so quiet today?”

As he stepped out of the elevator, David Jones pulled out his assistant card and swiped it at the main gate.

“Buzz!”

As the gate rose, David Jones sensed over twenty gazes cast in his direction.

The strong will contained in those gazes made his heart skip a beat, his right hand instinctively gripping Innocence.

Damn, what a grand scene!

Before him, there were more than twenty legendary fighters. If these fighters were to launch a joint attack, even a Deity might be killed on the spot.

Had David Jones not sensed Natalie Laurie and others’ presence among them, he would have run without a second thought.

In that moment, a voice, like a pebble thrown into a still lake, broke the silence and rippled through everyone’s hearts.

“Young one, tell me, is the anomaly that erupted earlier related to you?” a powerful figure clad in coarse clothing and worn straw sandals suddenly stepped forward and asked.

Upon hearing this, some legendary fighters who knew of David Jones and his capabilities exchanged glances, their eyes lingering on Deity Cloud Divot with an amused interest, as if anticipating an upcoming spectacle.

Virgil Harvey and a few others did not speak, quietly observing the composed David Jones.

They wanted to know how David Jones would respond to the challenge posed by Deity Cloud Divot.
