The Strongest Eriri in History

Chapter 315: Beach Barbecue

The beach offered the usual range of activities: beach volleyball, watermelon smashing, building sandcastles, and more.

Since the ocean in this world had yet to be populated with fish, activities like fishing were out of the question. However, nearly everything else one could do at a beach in the outside world was available here.

Some lay on inflatable rafts, floating lazily on the water. Others competed in swimming races or simply relaxed on beach chairs, enjoying the sea breeze and the distant horizon.

Eriri was among the few who opted for the latter. By now, it was 1 p.m. She was sprawled comfortably on a beach chair, clad in a red two-piece swimsuit, holding an iced drink and sipping it leisurely through a straw.

Beside her, Gabriel was similarly reclined on another chair. However, she was intently focused on her PSP, her fingers deftly pressing the buttons at a speed that seemed to leave afterimages.

The two beach chairs were placed less than 30 centimeters apart, close enough for either of them to reach out and touch the other.

"Gabriel, want a drink?" Eriri asked, taking the straw out of her mouth and turning her head to look at Gabriel.

Gabriel didn't lift her eyes from the PSP screen, her fingers still a blur as she played. Without missing a beat, she tilted her head slightly toward Eriri and opened her soft, pink lips.

"I want some. You feed me!" Gabriel said unapologetically, her tone carrying a hint of playful mischief.

Seeing Gabriel like this, Eriri simply chuckled indulgently. She reached out with her left hand to gently pat Gabriel's head, then brought the half-finished drink in her right hand to Gabriel's lips.

"Here, drink up," Eriri said.

Gabriel briefly shifted her gaze from the game to the drink and then wrapped her lips around the straw without hesitation, entirely unconcerned about the faint teeth marks left on it.

After draining the remaining half of the drink, Gabriel flashed a satisfied smile.

Eriri retrieved the empty cup and raised it to her right, where Aoi Kujo, who had been standing quietly behind her, took the cup without a word.

At that moment, Gabriel spoke again. "Eriri, want to join me for some multiplayer gaming?"

As she spoke, she pulled a spare PSP from her inventory and held it out to Eriri, her eyes filled with hopeful anticipation.

"Sure thing," Eriri agreed without hesitation.

Taking the PSP from Gabriel, she deftly powered it on and joined Gabriel in a two-player game.

For the next hour, they played together, enjoying the competitive fun of multiplayer gaming. Eventually, however, Eriri set the console aside and decided to explore other parts of the beach.

...

Eriri walked leisurely along the beach with light steps, drawing the gaze of everyone around her wherever she passed.

It wasn't just the men who enjoyed admiring beautiful women—girls, too, couldn't help but be drawn to someone as striking as Eriri. After all, Eriri's stunning looks captivated everyone, regardless of gender.

A few minutes later, Eriri arrived at a quieter area closer to the shoreline. Compared to other parts of the beach, this spot seemed more tranquil, with only eight petite figures crouched in the sand, focused intently on building sandcastles.

The group consisted of Reina, Myu, Illya, Sakura, Rin Tohsaka, Alice Maresato, Myne, and Tuuli. However, they weren't working on a single castle together but had split into two teams. Reina, Sakura, Illya, and Alice formed one team, while the remaining four worked together on the opposing team.

Both castles were already over a meter tall, with wide bases spanning three to four meters. From a glance, it seemed Reina's team's castle was slightly more intricate, while Myne's team's castle, though slightly less refined, wasn't far behind in quality.

The eight girls were so engrossed in their task that they didn't even notice Eriri's arrival.

"Are you having a sandcastle competition?" Eriri asked, standing next to the two impressive structures.

Her voice caught their attention, and the girls immediately paused their work, looking up at Eriri in unison.

"That's right, Onee-chan!" Reina replied enthusiastically. "We're competing to see which castle looks better and grander!"

She then perked up with an idea. "Oh, Onee-chan, why don't you be our judge later?"

The others quickly echoed her suggestion, and the once-quiet area became lively with their chatter.

"Of course," Eriri agreed with a smile, stepping closer to Reina and gently patting her fluffy fox ears.

In this world, there was no need to hide their demi-human traits, so Reina's fox ears and her nine beautiful tails were visible to everyone, even the non-demi-human visitors.

On the other side, Myne, dressed in a school-style swimsuit, spoke up with a playful smile. "Eriri, why don't you build a castle, too, and compete with us?"

"Well, I could," Eriri replied with mock surprise. "But would it just be me against the four of you?"

"You can find three teammates!" Myne said confidently.

Since the rules prohibited using supernatural powers, relying solely on one's hands to build the castle, Myne felt confident that her team stood a fair chance against Eriri's.

Standing next to Myne, Tuuli looked at Eriri nervously. Though she and Myne had been living with Eriri and the others for six days, Tuuli still couldn't suppress her awe and reverence for someone as remarkable as Eriri.

"Forget it. I'll do it alone. Just so you know, I won't go easy on you," Eriri said, shaking her head at the suggestion of forming a team.

While she could easily find three teammates in a matter of seconds, she felt it wasn't necessary. Choosing an empty spot, Eriri began constructing her sandcastle. The location of her castle, along with those of Reina's and Myne's groups, formed a perfect triangle.

With Eriri joining in, the atmosphere became livelier. Instead of silently building their castles as before, the girls began chatting and laughing while they worked.

Two hours passed quickly. Reina's and Myne's groups had both constructed castles over two meters tall, with completion rates exceeding 95%. It wouldn't be long before their masterpieces were finished.

Meanwhile, Eriri, despite starting later, had caught up. Her castle's progress was equally remarkable, showcasing her speed and skill.

By now, their little competition had drawn a crowd of spectators. Among them were Remilia and Irisviel, who had come looking for Myu and Illya. Upon finding their daughters engrossed in building sandcastles, they decided to stay and watch.

Arifureta and others were also present. However, even with her friends nearby, Eriri declined their help, determined to build her castle alone.

Finally, after another thirty minutes, three magnificent sandcastles stood tall on the beach. Each one was nearly three meters high and spanned three to four meters in width.

Though supernatural powers were prohibited for building, using them to levitate oneself was allowed. This made it possible to construct such towering structures.

"Eriri, your castle is incredible! You built it in half the time it took us, and it's perfect," Myne said, her tone filled with awe.

Looking at Eriri's flawless sandcastle, Myne realized that both her team and Reina's team had lost. Their castles, while impressive, had minor flaws in their details. Eriri's castle, on the other hand, resembled a true work of art.

However, no one felt discouraged. To them, losing to Eriri was only natural—she was, in their eyes, the epitome of perfection.

Since Eriri had participated in the competition, it wouldn't be fair for her to act as a judge. Ultimately, the spectators judged the results, declaring Eriri the winner of the contest.

Still, the castles built by Reina's and Myne's teams received fair evaluations, with Reina's group being deemed slightly more refined and aesthetically pleasing.

To commemorate the event, Eriri decided to permanently preserve the three sandcastles. Using her powers, she ensured they would remain fixed on the beach, impervious to any external forces.

By the time the competition ended, it was already 5 p.m. Most of the group had wrapped up their beach activities, while Aoi Kujo led Erina and others in preparing for the evening's barbecue.

Brand-new grills appeared on the beach, along with an abundance of ingredients. Tonight's dinner was set to be a beach barbecue.

The arrangement excited everyone, with many eagerly volunteering to grill their food. The numerous grills were provided specifically for those who wanted to try their hand at cooking.

Eriri was equally enthusiastic. Although she had never cooked before, her knowledge of culinary techniques made her eager to join in the fun.

Once Aoi Kujo and the others had finished setting up everything needed, Eriri gathered Arifureta, Megumi Kato, and a few others around one of the grills.

Eriri grabbed some pre-prepared skewers of meat and chicken wings from a nearby table and placed them on the grill, carefully tending to the food as it cooked. Meanwhile, Arifureta and the others watched Eriri intently, their faces full of anticipation.

For them, the taste wasn't the most important factor. Just the fact that they were about to eat something Eriri had personally cooked was enough to fill them with joy. They had even made a pact: no matter how the barbecue turned out, they would eat every bite with relish.

To her credit, Eriri's natural aptitude shone through. Despite it being her first time cooking, the skewers were coming out quite well, both in appearance and aroma.

After finishing a few skewers, Eriri handed them out to Arifureta, Megumi, and the others nearby. Each person held the skewers carefully, mesmerized by the golden-brown sheen and the tantalizing smell wafting from them.

Unable to resist any longer, they all took their first bite simultaneously, sinking their teeth into the perfectly grilled meat.

Watching their reactions, Eriri couldn't help but ask eagerly, "Well? How does it taste?"

Yuzuru Hanyu, seated across from Eriri, quickly devoured her skewer and exclaimed with excitement, "It's amazing! This is the best thing I've ever eaten in my life!"

Her face lit up in pure bliss, a level of satisfaction far surpassing even her first taste of Aoi Kujo's cooking.

"Really? You're not exaggerating?" Eriri asked, somewhat taken aback.

Arifureta nodded emphatically. "It's true. This is absolutely the best thing I've ever tasted!"

The others also chimed in with nods and expressions of agreement, savoring the rest of their skewers with evident delight.

Seeing the genuine reactions of those around her, Eriri began to wonder silently, Could my cooking talent really be this extraordinary? Did I actually surpass Aoi Kujo on my first try?

Because she had given away the first batch of skewers to her friends, Eriri hadn't yet tasted her own cooking. Turning her gaze to Arifureta, she decided to rectify that.

"Hey, Yue-chan, let me have a bite," Eriri said.

"Sure!" Arifureta replied, though she hesitated briefly before holding out her skewer with two remaining pieces of meat to Eriri.

Eriri leaned forward and bit into one of the pieces. Arifureta smoothly pulled the skewer back, leaving the tender meat in Eriri's mouth.

As she chewed, Eriri's expression shifted, and disappointment crept onto her face. "This… this is so ordinary! It's nowhere near as good as you all made it out to be. Don't tell me you're all just pretending to mess with me!"
