Chapter 1: Chapter 1: System Activated
A sound rang out on the sports field of a certain middle school.
Asahi watched the students returning in small groups and felt that at this moment, he was truly a physical education teacher, not one of the "patients" as described by his colleagues in the major subjects.
Yes, just like in TV dramas, Asahi, as a physical education teacher, was often teased by his colleagues as being "sick."
This led to him not having many classes to teach throughout the semester, giving him plenty of free time, which he used to become skilled in various areas like cooking, gaming, reading novels, and music, among other things.
"All right, students, that's it for this class. Remember to exercise regularly. Goodbye, everyone!"
"Goodbye, teacher!"...
Once the students had left, Asahi took out his phone and noticed an unread message.
"Mr. Asahi, here's the thing, we haven't covered the English exam paper for Class Four. Can I borrow your fourth-period class?"
Oh great, someone's asking to borrow a class again. It's fine to lend it to you, but the problem is, you folks never return the favor! Asahi's face darkened.
However, he didn't refuse the English teacher. After all, even if he declined, they would still go ahead with it, and the principal supported it too.
Asking himself symbolically, he had already given them enough face.
"All right, Mr. Li."
After sending the message, Asahi let out a carefree laugh. It wasn't that he wasn't feeling well, but it was the challenging living environment these kids were in.
Well, since there's nothing else to do, I might as well go home and watch some anime. I still haven't finished watching the grand finale of Naruto.
Asahi had been working for over a year and still didn't have a girlfriend. As for why his family wasn't pressuring him, it was because he had a protagonist's template. Orphaned at a young age with no parents, he had inherited a substantial inheritance that would support him comfortably for the rest of his life.
As for becoming a physical education teacher, it was mainly because it aligned with his major, and secondly, he enjoyed teaching. It was purely a personal interest.
However, after he started the job, he realized he was a bit too naive. He used to think that what he read online was all fake.
Driving his beloved car back home, Asahi couldn't wait to open one of the construction worker manga he had been following for years, "Naruto," and eagerly began to read.
"Wow, Kaguya is something else. How could she fall for Naruto's seduction technique?"
"And, Kakashi is really handsome..."
He quickly finished watching the remaining episodes of the anime.
After finishing, he felt a sense of emptiness in his heart, but that was okay. Over the years, he had grown accustomed to this feeling.
Casually commenting on the characters in the anime, Asahi didn't notice that the clock on the wall suddenly stopped ticking.
Tick-tock! The Old TV screen suddenly displayed the kind of static that was common in the 1980s.
"What the heck? What's going on? I spent a fortune on this TV. It can't be a fake, can it?"
Seeing the TV behaving this way, Asahi walked over to it in annoyance. He wanted to rewatch some scenes for nostalgia.
But just one tap on the TV caused it to return to clarity, revealing a screen that was no longer showing Naruto.
The entire screen was a deep black, with a few large and striking characters in the middle.
[Do you want to travel through the worlds and become a master of all saints?]
Asahi was furious. He realized that his system had definitely been hacked, and they were playing this low-level prank.
What, do they think they're in a horror movie? I'm trying to find the meaning of life here, and you're not even professional in your plagiarism!
"Seriously, who the heck would be so unethical? Why hack me? I don't have anything worth stealing. If you have the guts, go hack a bank!"
Perhaps because Asahi took too long to react, the font on the TV screen enlarged once, accompanied by a buzzing sound that startled Asahi, who was standing right next to the TV.
"Hey, I mean, are you trying to pick a fight with me? I guess I guess I guess! So, what's the deal? Do you have the guts to come find me through the internet cable!"
Asahi rolled his eyes and said disdainfully.
But as soon as he finished speaking, Asahi felt a sudden dizziness in his head. "Oh my god!"
With just a casual remark, Asahi lost consciousness completely.
When he woke up again, the sky had darkened, not because it was night, but because it was raining. Thick clouds had covered the sun.
Asahi was awakened by the rain, and he got up from the ground. He was already soaked to the bone.
Asahi stood there, drenched by the rain, and looked around cautiously. He realized that he was no longer in his familiar living room but in the middle of a vast forest.
"What's going on?! Why am I here?!"
[Ding, system activated!]
Just as Asahi was still in shock, a clear sound echoed in his mind.
Startled, Asahi, who was already on edge, heard someone speaking. He immediately scanned his surroundings and asked vigilantly, "Who? Who's speaking? Come out, and let me tell you, I've already seen you!"
[Ding, host, there's no need to panic. I am the Clan Heritage System, exclusively for the host. The host can communicate with me by silently thinking of what they want to say.]
Asahi furrowed his brow. Was he hallucinating, or was this a dream?
Nevertheless, he silently thought, "You say you're a system? Exclusively for me?"
[Ding, that's correct. I am the Clan Heritage System, exclusive to the host.]
Hearing this, Asahi's brow furrowed even deeper. "So, what's my current situation? Have I traveled to another world?"
[Ding, according to the host's understanding, you have indeed crossed over to another world.]
"What's your origin, and what's your purpose?" Asahi asked in confusion.
[Ding, I was created by the previous Clan Leader of the Tazuna Clan, responsible for selecting worthy individuals to become the new Clan Leader and re-establishing the Tazuna Clan's dominance in the multiverse.]
Wow, that sounds pretty prestigious. Asahi was surprised. "So, you're saying I'm the chosen one?"
[Ding, that's correct.]
"So, what do you want me to do?" Asahi asked.
[Ding, travel through various realms, recruit talented disciples, and restore the reputation of the Tazuna Clan.]
So, I'm still going to be a teacher, huh? Asahi thought carefully.
He didn't actually mind the fact that he had crossed over. After all, he had been alone in his previous world, so the location of his existence didn't matter much. What mattered was whether he could live life on his own terms, and it seemed promising.
"If you want me to travel through various realms and recruit disciples, can you provide me with any assistance? Don't tell me I have to do everything on my own, and you're only responsible for telling me about it!"
