The Superior Female Lead Pampers Her Husband Without Limit

Chapter 27: The Superior Female Lead Pampers Her Husband Without Limit 27

The villagers didn't usually act this generously. She hadn't heard of any particularly wealthy households in the villages around An Town...

"Since you're planning to open a restaurant, you can keep the tables and chairs that were already here. Take whatever you need. We'll send someone to clean the place up for you."

The shop owner was thoughtful and well-prepared. "Three days from now, at this same time, please come back to our Wang family's home. I'll have someone draw up the lease agreement. We'll sign it and exchange the money, lease papers, and the shop key."

"Deal," Jewel replied.

The two struck a deal smoothly.

Meanwhile, Xavi was quietly waiting in the reception hall of the family they were dealing with. There were some tea and snacks in front of him.

His wife was talking business with someone else, and since there were outsiders present, it wasn't proper for him to show up. So he waited in the hall. It had been a while—he wondered if they were done yet.

Feeling bored, Xavi sipped his tea, got lost in his thoughts, and spaced out.

Suddenly, a cheerful and lively boy came running into the hall. He looked at Xavi curiously from head to toe.

Xavi looked back at him. The boy had rosy lips, white teeth, and a naturally cute and lively air about him. For some reason, Xavi felt a sudden liking for the boy.

"You're the husband of Boss Xie?" the boy asked right away, full of curiosity with no shyness. "What's your name? How old are you?"

This was Wang Yuehan, the son of the Wang family's head. He was 17, one year younger than Xavi. Although his looks weren't as refined as Xavi's, his personality was cheerful and likable.

Just moments ago, he had been chasing a goose around the courtyard. When he heard that a business couple had come to visit—and that the farmer husband of the boss was incredibly good-looking—he ran over to see for himself.

"I'm Xavi. I'm 18," Xavi replied.

"You're really good-looking. Boss Xie must like you a lot, huh?" the boy said, full of admiration. His eyes sparkled with envy.

He had big eyes and double eyelids—something Yuehan didn't have.

"Not really…" Xavi replied, a bit shy. He didn't know who this boy was and felt awkward being teased like this. "Who are you?"

"I'm Wang Yuehan."

Just then, Jewel came out after finishing the business talk. She happened to hear the conversation between her husband and the shop owner's son.

She was pleased to hear someone complimenting her lovely husband. But when her husband responded so modestly to the question of whether his wife loved him—how could she let that go?

"My husband is indeed deeply loved by me," Jewel said as she walked over.

Xavi turned red, feeling even more embarrassed. How could his wife say that in front of others?

Jewel saw how flustered her husband was. She stepped forward, gently wrapped her arm around his shoulder, and said with a smile, "But my husband is a little shy, so please don't tease him, Young Master Wang."

Xavi obediently stood by her side, letting her arm wrap protectively around him.

"Yuehan, you really should learn to be more composed, like the Xie family's husband. You can't just speak without thinking," said the Wang family head, seizing the opportunity to scold her son.

She knew her own son too well. He might seem obedient on the surface, but he was actually a real troublemaker. Always plucking feathers off chickens or tying the dog's legs together…

"And you're always running around the house teasing cats and dogs! One day, you'll end up on the roof tearing off tiles! What kind of lady would want to marry you then?"

People already liked to gossip about their family. If her son didn't behave, it would only make things worse.

"Mom! How can you say that about me…"

Wang Yuehan looked at his mother, eyes full of grievance.

He wasn't that bad. He just liked to have fun…

So embarrassing… So humiliating…

Didn't he care about his dignity?

He had just wanted to make friends with the handsome Xavi, but now his mother had completely ruined his image.

Classic mom move…

After the two women finished their business talk, it was almost lunchtime. Jewel looked at the time and held her husband's hand, saying it was time to go.

"Alright then, see you in three days."

The Wang family head personally saw them off. The deal was practically sealed.

Their carriage rolled smoothly down the streets of An Town. Everything had gone well, and Jewel was in a good mood.

"Xavi, I want to check out other restaurants to see how their business is doing. Let's eat out for lunch today."

She wanted to observe how local businesses ran and compare them with her past life's experience.

Xavi had thought they would just grab some snacks on the street like last time, but what his wife said made sense. To succeed, you had to know your competition.

"Let's visit the best restaurant in town," he said.

Only by seeing the best could they learn how to improve their own place.

"If we don't have enough money, you can just order fewer dishes, and I can eat less too," he added, feeling a bit worried about spending too much.

Jewel laughed. She wasn't stingy to the point of letting her husband go hungry just to save a few coins. "Silly one. I would never save money at your expense."

After asking around, they found out that the best-known restaurant in town was the Xichuan Tavern. Jewel quickly drove them there.

Seeing the bustling, two-story tavern packed with people, Jewel felt relieved about An Town's spending power.

After parking the carriage, even before they could enter, a young waitress greeted them.

"Welcome, honored guests! How many in your party?"

"Two. Do you have any private rooms?"

Jewel remembered the original owner often ate out. These taverns usually had a large main hall on the ground floor and private rooms upstairs.

"Yes, we do! Please, this way!"

The waitress led the way. Jewel protectively held Xavi close as they squeezed through the noisy crowd and headed upstairs.

The private room was surrounded by thin wooden panels—not soundproof at all. Voices from other rooms still came through. A curtain covered the ceiling, and another one served as the door. It felt a little stuffy inside.

Still, compared to the noisy hall, it was a nice, private space. They could talk and move without being watched. It was good enough.

"What would you like to order?"

After they were seated, the waitress poured them tea and asked patiently.

"It's my first time here, so I'm not sure what's good. Could you recommend some dishes?" Jewel asked.
