Chapter : Prologue
"Phew..."
Five hundred years!
A full five hundred years!
Last night, Ye finally had a peaceful, relaxing night that eased the immense pressure he had been carrying.
Everything changed because of the two "golden fingers" that finally arrived last night.
Two stress-relief treasures.
The first was Baoyu, who, although she didn't call herself a system, was likely something of that nature.
She told Ye that he had become a character in Genshin Impact and that he could earn rewards by gaining popularity in the game—though this wasn't particularly important to him.
The second was Nameless, who claimed to be the manifestation of Ye's dreams. She could help Ye construct any dream he desired while he slept, allowing him to dream whatever he wanted—this was the true stress-relief treasure!!
Upon hearing this, Ye was ecstatic. He tossed Baoyu aside and hurriedly went to sleep.
Needless to say, he dreamed of the one who could best relieve his stress—our dear Hydro Archon, Lady Furina.
"Lady Furina, your subordinate has accumulated five hundred years of pressure because of you. In reality, I can't find relief, but in my dreams, surely you can help me ease this pressure, right?"
What? There's a problem?
Who cares!!
Ignoring Lady Furina's half-hearted resistance in the dream, Ye finally vented the five hundred years of pressure he had built up.
Of course, five hundred years of pressure couldn't be relieved in just one night. "Just you wait, Lady Furina. Starting today, every bit of pressure I accumulate from you during the day, I will vent at night."
With such a relieved and joyful heart, Ye descended from the Palais Mermonia.
Yes, he lived in the Palais Mermonia, in a room directly below Furina's.
Of course, even though his room was below hers, there was no direct access to Furina's room from his floor. Furina resided on the top floor of the Palais Mermonia, which had a private entrance and was inaccessible by ordinary means.
Ye had chosen to live here for Furina's safety.
Over the centuries, many fanatical fans had tried various methods to break into Furina's room. Ye was Furina's last line of defense. No matter how skilled the intruder, none could get past him—this was also one of the sources of Ye's stress. He couldn't even sleep well at night, always having to remain vigilant, ready to wake at the slightest disturbance.
Even last night, when he had a pleasant dream, Ye's body remained instinctively alert to his surroundings. At the slightest sound, he would wake up, abandoning the rare stress-relief dream he had managed to have... Just thinking about it made the pressure he had just relieved come rushing back.
Ye was so frustrated with Furina that he could grind his teeth in anger.
So, when he saw Furina entering the Palais Mermonia as he descended the stairs, his expression remained as impassive as ever.
—Furina, however, was not so composed.
The moment she saw Ye, Furina's face turned bright red. She had just stepped into the Palais Mermonia but immediately turned around and fled.
??????
What the hell?
Ye was utterly confused, but he couldn't let Furina wander off alone. He turned to Clorinde, who was stunned by Furina's sudden action, and spoke softly, "What are you standing there for? Go after her and protect Lady Furina."
Clorinde immediately straightened up and nodded solemnly.
"Yes, Your Excellency, the Supreme Archbishop."
