The System Awakens: Rise of the Champion

Chapter 207: Husband And Wife - 1

"How are things going on with the Upper Plane?" Damian asked, rubbing his wife's cheeks lovingly.

"Nothing much, darling... the last wave of raiders that invaded our universe has been neutralized without heavy loss on our side. We're actually doing pretty well, but not as good as we used to," Lenora slowly muttered as she tightly encircled her arms around his and they calmly walked along the river, enjoying the privacy and the scenery.

"You look worried, my love," the Werewolf King said with a concerned expression.

"The last wave of raiders was too powerful. We barely managed to win, and we had to employ thousands of gods or mortals possessing godlike combat powers to defeat them... The losses weren't much, but they were still significantly high, something that cannot be ignored," Lenora continued, resting her head on her husband's shoulder.

"The losses are piling up, and we don't know how much more we can take on... There were also signs that the last wave of raiders might be the final scouting unit sent to our universe before a full-blown invasion."

Damian raised an eyebrow. He could feel how worried Lenora was, it was written clearly on her face, and he didn't like that.

He used his finger and gently raised her chin, making her blue eyes meet his red ones as he held her face.

"My love... look into your husband's eyes and tell me, do you really think I would let anything threaten our family or our universe?" he asked with a stern face.

"Of course not, darling," Lenora answered without hesitation, her expression serious.

"I can't believe you would even ask me that question. Did you really think I would ever doubt my husband's capabilities?" Lenora was offended that her beloved husband would even suggest such a thing. Why? Did he not know his beloved wife? Did he not know that she trusted, believed in, and loved him unconditionally?

Damian smiled at her angry expression as he pulled her into a hug, placing her head on his chest and gently patting her back.

"I'm sorry I asked you such a thing. I was just concerned about your feelings. I wanted to make sure you knew I would do anything to protect you, our family, and our universe... I know it was stupid. I apologize," Damian said in a low, genuine, apologetic voice.

"Yes, it was stupid... you are stupid, darling..." Lenora said as a small smile formed on her face.

"There is no limit to my love for you, my beloved Goddess of the Moon..." the Werewolf King said.

"I love you just as much, if not more... My champion," Lenora replied as she brought her face close to her husband's and gave him a deep, gentle kiss that lasted for a few seconds.

"Do you forgive me for my stupidity, my love?" Damian asked, rubbing his face against her cheeks.

"Well, I don't want to, but you're acting way too cute now, so I'll let it slide..." Lenora replied with a blush on her face.

"Hehe..." Damian chuckled and held her hand as they continued to walk along the river.

"Darling, are you really ready to face such threats without harming yourself? I'm not worried about our universe or our family. I'm worried about you..." Lenora asked.

"To be honest, I don't know... I mean, I don't know how strong I'll be if I go all out," Damian sighed.

"As the progenitor of humans, vampires, and werewolves, I get power boosts the more the population of those races grows. That alone increased my base power so much that now I can easily kill dozens of God Kings and God King-level beings in the Upper Realm all while using my weakest form."

Damian looked at Lenora. "In your opinion, dear, how strong were the raiders compared to the gods of the Lower Plane?"

"Hmmm... The raiders were growing increasingly strong. You and I both knew that the raiders were nothing but scouts, forces that can be expended, and yet they were so powerful that it took God King-level beings to defeat them, but not without sustaining harm," Lenora said slowly.

"Our universe still hasn't started to grow yet, so our gods cannot draw as much power as they should. They are naturally weaker compared to the gods of other universes of the same level. But still, for the raiders to defeat them that easily... the universe we are dealing with must be quite developed. It is quite troublesome, I won't lie," Damian said, and then a grin formed on his face.

"Well, it doesn't matter to me." Damian grabbed her hand tightly as she looked into her husband's confident red eyes.

"I'll tell you now, my love, they are nothing but helpless sheep walking into the den of a predator," the Werewolf King said.

"Let them come. It's not going to matter how many of them invade, or how powerful they are, or how brilliant their plans may be, it won't matter because they will become nothing more than food for our universe..." He gave her a small peck on the lips.

"Be your happiest, my love. Your husband will never let anything bad happen to you, our family, or our universe. In fact, it will be the opposite. We are going to grow so strong that I will make sure that anyone, be it invaders or the Great Celestials themselves, will tremble before us," he declared, his voice carrying a heavy weight that shook Lenora to her core.

Not just her, Amelia, Avaline, Eden, the Family Head, the Five World Trees all felt his declaration shake their cores.

They had no doubt he was telling the truth.

He truly would do everything he said he would.

They felt happy.

Reassured.

Their downtrodden confidence began rising once again.

Once again, they were reminded of who he is, what he is, what kind of anomaly he is.

Why the Celestials feared his existence all those years ago, why they abandoned this universe in fear of his rise.

They could feel it...

Even though he was the reason the universe had been abandoned by the cosmos, to float in the endless null and void without an anchor to draw energy, left to die a slow death, no one, not even the Three Regulators of their universe, blamed him.

That didn't mean he wasn't the cause.

But right now, even if they had doubts in the past, even if they had no hope for the future, everything disappeared.

Just from his words, they could feel it.

There is now hope...

No, not just hope.

There is certainty now that their universe is going to prevail.

"I hope my family will support me along the way... my love," Damian smiled slightly, and Lenora just stared at his beautiful, confident face for a few seconds.

Her breathing quickened and her face turned bright red.

"I can't hold it anymore... come with me, darling," Lenora said restlessly, grabbing her husband's hand.

In the next instant, they disappeared without a trace.

They reappeared inside a huge castle, right in one of its extensive bedrooms.

As soon as they appeared, Lenora pushed her husband onto the bed and raised her hand.

A ball of light shot from her palm at lightning speed and struck hundreds of meters into the night sky.

It exploded, and the energy it generated manifested into a wall that expanded in all directions, forming a protective dome covering hundreds of meters in radius, blocking all sound, sight, and sense from within the dome.

Lenora, with her heavy breathing, got on top of her husband and pressed her lips onto his before inserting her tongue into his mouth, starting an intense tongue battle as the noise of their lips squashing against each other filled the room.

"Slow down... my love..." Damian said, looking at the intoxicated expression on her face.

"I want to do it with you alone, darling..." Lenora muttered as she hastily removed his upper body clothes before tearing apart his pants, making him completely naked.

"Darling... please remove my clothes..." Lenora asked restlessly.

Damian moved his face closer to hers, giving her a deep kiss as he gently removed her clothes and threw them away, leaving her in only her white bra and panties.

Without breaking the kiss, he gently pushed her back and made her lie on the bed as their kiss grew more and more intense.

"You are so restless... my love, it's unlike you," Damian asked, looking at her flushed face.

"I-I wanted to spend time with my husband alone... like you did with Avaline... I was jealous..." Lenora said, turning her face away.

"Keep your eyes on your husband," Damian said, turning her face straight to make her look into his eyes as he brought his lips to hers and kissed her, his hands moving down towards her panties before slipping his fingers under them and touching her entrance.

As soon as he touched her entrance, a jolt assaulted her body and a muffled moan came from her mouth.

"Ahhh..." Lenora's legs quivered as Damian continued to rub all the sensitive spots of her pussy's entrance.

Damian removed his hands from her panties and looked at the colorless, hot liquid covering his hands before licking her love juice. "You are so wet..."

He grabbed her bra, ripped it off, and threw it away before doing the same to her panties, leaving Lenora completely naked without a single piece of clothing on her.

Damian licked his lips, looking at her naked figure. "You look delicious, my wife..."
