Chapter 223: Lilith
The Twilight Castle, Nightingale.
Just as Damian completed his transition into the Progenitor of Demons, something strange was happening within the Twilight Castle.
"What is this?" Everyone's eyes were on the necklaces that Damian had gifted to the five countesses and Lenora.
He had crafted them himself, using his own unique essence and embedding a drop of his blood inside each gem, a drop that was forever connected to him by both spirit and blood.
Right now, the gems on the six necklaces were glowing with an intense, bright amber-black light.
The brilliance lasted only a few seconds before the light vanished at the exact moment Damian's transition was complete.
"That was intense…" Shiru murmured, still staring at the beautiful necklace around the countesses' necks.
"Well… Darling did say it was special…" Lenora said softly, gazing at her own necklace.
Inside the centerpiece gem, the drop of Damian's blood swirled with energy, constantly shifting like a living kaleidoscope.
"It seems like it's connected to Darling… it looks like it's reacting to him turning into the Progenitor of Demons," Countess Amaya muttered.
They turned their attention back to the system prompt, which displayed what their husband was doing in Hell.
The true King of Demons stood tall, taking deep, steady breaths.
Each exhale released a thick, potent energy that filled the infernal air.
He turned his attention to the demons, and, unsurprisingly, endless hordes of demons of all shapes and sizes were kneeling, their foreheads pressed to the hellish ground, showing complete submission to the true King of Hell and the Progenitor of Demons.
"Hm… greetings, my accursed children of Hell…" The Demon King smiled faintly, his gaze settling on one particular demon, a succubus, to be exact.
"Lilith…" the Demon King called in a gentle, almost affectionate tone.
The demon with the strongest presence, rivaling even that of the former Demon King, Lucifer Morningstar, lifted her head.
A succubus with beauty that rivaled goddesses, her purple-red curly hair cascaded down her shoulders.
Her violet eyes gleamed with an overwhelming mix of emotions as she raised her face to him, her King, her expression filled with pure love, respect, devotion, loyalty, desire, and lust.
"You look as young and as gorgeous as the day I met you, my love," the Demon King said as he gently lifted her chin with his fingers, his eyes locking onto hers.
"Master… I have long awaited your return… your loyal servant and her subordinates are dying to serve you," Lilith, the highest of demons and the most powerful succubus in Hell, spoke with determination and a trembling voice, her face alight with longing.
"Is that so?" the Demon King said with a faintly amused smile, rubbing her chin.
Her pale cheeks flushed red at his touch.
She couldn't help but feel a deep, blissful happiness simply from feeling her Master's fingers against her skin.
"Lilith? As in the Lilith?" Maria asked loudly, unable to hide her shock.
Even the five countesses were visibly shaken by the sight of this demon interacting with their husband.
"The demon who you said might become his wife in Hell… it's not her, is it?" Countess Tiana asked, her voice laced with unease.
"She is…" Lenora sighed.
"Lilith, the wife of Adam, the first humans to ever be created, huh," Ana muttered.
"Well, that's… not quite right, actually," Amelia interjected.
"What's not quite right?" Maria asked, frowning.
"Adam and Lilith weren't the first humans ever created; they were just the first humans created on Earth by the Heavenly Father," Amelia explained, waving her hand dismissively.
"Don't trust everything you read."
Humans were not unique to Earth.
Every pantheon had gods of creation of their own, and each of them had created humans for one sole reason: to have worshippers.
Why humans, many might ask?
It's simple.
If they created vampires, werewolves, or any other supernatural beings to worship them, it wouldn't last long.
Those races had immense potential and powerful abilities.
It wouldn't take them long to reach the level of a god themselves, and in such a situation, it would be like opening the gates to your own doom.
Humans, on the other hand, were the perfect race to control and monitor with little to no problem.
Humans have a high reproductive rate, a short lifespan, and no connection to the supernatural.
They were easy to manipulate into submitting to gods and reaping their faith.
This was the main reason why humans can be found within all the pantheons.
They were also easy to create, and the process itself was not complicated compared to other supernatural races.
"How did she end up becoming a High Demon?" Shiru asked.
"It's a long story, but I'll tell you the short version," Lenora said.
"It all started as the book said, with the Heavenly Father creating the first two humans to walk the Earth, Adam and Lilith.
Then, as the story goes, Adam tried to assert his dominance over Lilith, refusing to accept her as his equal.
In the end, Lilith broke off their marriage and went straight to Hell, where she was corrupted by all the negativity and miasma, turning her into a High Demon, a succubus, by the will of Hell itself.
"The Heavenly Father, being the egotistical god he was, sent his holy angels after her. But she, having gained the power of miasma, killed them. In turn, she left Hell and went straight to Heaven, wanting to wage war with Heaven itself all alone," Lenora explained.
"She went after Heaven all by herself? What the hell was she thinking back then?" Yuki asked in a sarcastic tone.
"Well, she was overwhelmed with emotions. She was alone, the only man she ever trusted turned out to be a pig, and the god she prayed to wanted her to submit to that pig and even sent his soldiers after her. I would be like her too if I were in her position," Lenora said, sighing.
"In the end, it was her against the might of Heaven. No matter how much she tried, she ended up getting beaten. And yet, she managed to last for more than an hour of continuous fighting against the Archangels. She was about to be killed or worse, she might have been forced to submit to Adam again. That's when she met Darling," Amelia continued.
"Darling saved her, the Creator God, and killed a few thousand angels in the process before bringing her back to Hell. After that, he taught her self-control, fighting, cultivation, techniques, and many more things that helped her become the strongest being in Hell. He would visit her from time to time whenever he was free, during the hundreds of wars that came one after another..." Amelia sighed.
"I guess she became too attached to Darling, she started to develop certain obsessive feelings for him. She would have become one of his wives, but before we get to that point, Darling regressed, and the system placed his regressed body on Earth, which hadn't even fully appeared yet. All this time, Lilith had become even more powerful," Lenora said.
In Hell, before Damian was crowned as the true King of Hell, there used to be two factions of demons.
One faction was led by Lucifer, the King of Demons, and his Archdemons, the 72 Pillars, the Seven Deadly Sins, and the Four Knights of the Apocalypse, who controlled two-thirds of the demon population.
The other faction was ruled by Lilith alone.
Her faction was mostly made up of female demons.
Even though she ruled over only one-third of the population, all the demons in her faction were generally much stronger than those from Lucifer's faction.
Under the guidance of the true king, she had managed to grow from a lowly, sinless demon into a powerful succubus, and the queen of her own faction, which even Lucifer would think more than twice before messing with.
"I'm impressed with her. She's a great addition to the family," Lenora muttered with a small smile.
"Fufu, I'm looking forward to seeing when she meets the Heavenly Father with Darling by her side," Amelia said excitedly.
"Oh, I completely forgot about that… Knowing Darling, he will definitely take Lilith with him when he goes to Heaven. I wouldn't be surprised if he took an army of demons with him and let Lilith kill the Heavenly Father," Lenora sighed, shaking her head.
Back in Hell, Damian walked towards Lilith and lifted her shoulder, making her stand in front of him, her eyes locked on his devilishly charming face.
"How have you been, my love?" the Demon King asked as he gently rubbed her chin.
"I've been well in flesh, but my mind and heart have been in endless torment from your absence, my master," Lilith said, her eyes becoming moist.
The Demon King narrowed his eyes as he wiped the tear forming at the corner of her right eye.
"Hmm… forgive me," he murmured.
"This lowly servant dares not…" Lilith swallowed hard, a pain blooming in her chest as she saw her master asking for forgiveness.
"Is there something you want from me? Or want me to do? Tell me, my love, I will do anything you want," Damian asked as he continued to rub her cheeks, which made her tails flap excitedly.
Lilith was surprised.
Indeed, she had been about to ask him to do something for her, it was as if he had read her mind.
She swallowed hard, wondering if she should tell him.
This was something she had wanted to ask him even before he regressed.
"I... I want to kiss you, my master," Lilith said in a strong tone.
"...I would love to kiss you, my little succubus," the Demon King smiled as he gently pulled her face closer, wrapping his arms around her back.
Their lips touched.
As soon as they did, a jolt spread through Lilith's body as her instincts as a high-level succubus kicked in.
Her body moved on its own, her arms and legs wrapped around him as her tongue began to invade his mouth.
