Chapter 3:
Chapter 3: Saintess:
-Outside Lingfeng Town, on Mount Lingfeng.
“Buzz!”
Two streaks of light tore through the sky and gently landed midway up the mountain, like dragonflies skimming the surface of a pond, without causing the slightest disturbance. Zhou Heng walked leisurely through the forest with Zhou Xi, heading calmly toward the bandit stronghold on the mountainside, as if they were simply out for a stroll.
“Young Master, after we take revenge, where will you take me?” For some reason, just being by Zhou Heng’s side made Zhou Xi feel completely safe.
Even her sorrow had started to fade. She walked close to him, soft-spoken and a little nervous as she asked, “Will I be able to eat enough? If I can’t work well… will I be beaten?”
“I come from the Great Primordial Holy Land. I’m a second-generation immortal there, with immense power and status!” Zhou Heng grinned and patted his chest. “Don’t worry. Once you go home with me, you’ll be my real sister. If anyone dares to mess with you, just mention my name. It’ll work, guaranteed!” This wasn’t an empty boast—Young Master Zhou really had the power and the background to back it up. In this world, strength and influence were what counted.
Zhou Xi tilted her head slightly, confused. The Great Primordial Holy Land? Having grown up in a remote village, she had no idea what kind of giant force that was.
“Boss, today’s haul doesn’t look great. What should we do with these women?” Loud voices rang out up ahead. Zhou Heng stopped and gently pulled Zhou Xi into a nearby thicket. They quietly observed from behind the trees.
A group of rough, vicious-looking men carrying blades and spears came swaggering through. Among them were a few blood-stained, terrified women and children, barely clothed.
Judging by their condition, their husbands likely hadn’t survived.
“What’s the rush? There are four or five villages nearby. Worst case, we just raid them all!” A slender middle-aged man with a cold expression smiled slyly. His presence was like a venomous snake waiting to strike—treacherous and dangerous.
“Got it, got it!” The thugs cheered excitedly, their faces filled with madness. Some of the blades they carried still dripped with blood. The women they had captured looked hollow, completely numb, like living corpses.
“Heh, Xi Xi, take a look. Are these the ones?” At that moment, a young man and woman stepped out from the forest. The refined and handsome Zhou Heng acted as though the bandits didn’t even exist as he turned to Zhou Xi beside him. “It should be them, right? Anyone missing?”
In an instant, the bandits snarled and stepped forward threateningly.
“Hell yeah! Didn’t think we’d get a bonus! Damn, this girl’s fine! I’m going first!”
“Why you? Whoever grabs her first gets first go!”
“Careful not to break her! Take her back and enjoy her slowly!”
The middle-aged man, Zhao Yuan, quietly retreated a few steps. Listening to the crude remarks of his underlings, cold sweat broke out on his forehead. Idiots! Even though he was at the 6th stage Qi Refining Realm and couldn’t sense Zhou Heng’s cultivation, he had an overwhelming sense of dread, like facing a divine force. It was a fear from deep within his soul, the kind that only appeared before true power. That young man… was no ordinary person!
Zhou Heng didn’t even look at the bandits. He simply smiled at Zhou Xi. “Did you recognize them?”
Zhou Xi’s face turned pale as painful memories flooded back. She bit her lip, her body trembling. Zhou Heng gently rested a hand on her shoulder, and a warm current flowed into her body, soothing her restless soul. Zhou Heng smiled. “Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”
“Mhm.” Zhou Xi nodded. “It’s them, Young Master. Please… I’ll leave it to you.”
“Damn it!” A few bandits, faces twisted with rage, charged forward and swung their blades at Zhou Heng’s face!
Not far away, Zhao Yuan didn’t hesitate. A faint flash of white light appeared as he turned and fled.
“Sealing Formation.” Zhou Heng didn’t even look at the bandits. He pointed with a finger, and a faint golden ripple spread out in the air. Centered around Zhou Heng, it rapidly expanded outward, sealing everything in its path.
Everyone froze in place—completely unable to move.
“Heh… where do you think you’re going?” Zhao Yuan’s face paled in terror. In the blink of an eye, the smiling Zhou Heng appeared before him. His seemingly gentle eyes were filled with endless coldness and killing intent, like a block of ten-thousand-year-old ice that sent chills straight into Zhao Yuan’s soul.
“Spare me, young hero…”
“Slash!”
Zhou Heng didn’t waste words on small fry. With a light flick of his hand, Zhao Yuan and dozens of bandits were instantly decapitated.
Zhou Heng then took Zhou Xi’s hand. With a light tap of his foot, they transformed into a stream of light and soared into the sky.
“Benefactor! Thank you, benefactor!” The few surviving women knelt on the ground, tears flowing as they bowed repeatedly toward Zhou Heng’s fading figure.
[Ding! Mission complete!]
[Rewards issued: 500 points! Windrider Technique! 500 low-grade spirit stones!]
As the scenery below rushed past, Zhou Heng heard the mechanical voice of the system in his mind and sighed quietly. If the Great Primordial Holy Land ever learned that their Holy Son had traveled thousands of miles just to slaughter a few 6th stage Qi Refining Realm bandits… forget the elders, even his own father would probably hang him up and beat him!
“Young Master, thank you!” Zhou Xi’s eyes reddened as she gave Zhou Heng a deep bow. She didn’t understand why he treated her so well, but she had already decided that from this moment on—whether he cared or not—she would be his in life and death.
“No need to be so formal.” Zhou Heng chuckled, ruffled her hair, and pointed into the distance. “Next, follow me to live in style!”
Zhou Xi gently bit her lip, an unfamiliar feeling rising in her heart. The Young Master was so powerful, and the Great Primordial Holy Land he came from must be even more so. She silently swore to herself: once they arrived, she would be obedient and never cause him trouble.
“Whoosh!”
Zhou Heng summoned a Sky-Splitting Ship and took Zhou Xi with him, flying straight toward the Great Primordial Holy Land.
In less than half a day, the ship arrived before the vast and magnificent Sacred Land.
“Whoosh whoosh whoosh!”
As they came within a hundred miles of the territory, dozens of streams of light burst into the sky, surrounding the ship.
As the lights faded, more than a dozen powerful Sacred Land cultivators appeared.
Standing behind Zhou Heng, Zhou Xi instinctively clutched his robe, nervous and anxious.
“You idiots dare block the Holy Son’s ship? Want to die?” After a short silence, Zhou Heng scolded the leading cultivator impatiently. “Get lost, or I’ll slap the crap out of you!”
“Ahem!” The cultivators’ expressions changed dramatically, and they quickly bowed. “Greetings, Holy Son!” The lead cultivator rubbed his nose awkwardly.
“Holy Son, we wouldn’t dare disrespect you. It’s just… the Holy Lord has ordered that upon your return, you are to immediately head to the Great Primordial Main Hall. The Saintess of the Misty Immortal Sect has been waiting for quite some time…”
