Chapter 25: Chapter 24
Spring. May 10th, 2009
"Don't worry Masamune, I understand. I always thought that someday, you'd come back to Japan."
At the airport, Rita and Mashiro accompanied me as I waited for my flight. Of course, it was a typical goodbye scene. Still, I expected Rita to act egoistically or like a yandere again. However, she was showing me that she had really grown up, unlike before.
"Hey, say something. Or are you thinking something rude about me, huh?"
I chuckled, "I was thinking that maybe I should have taken your art lessons. Now I regret it a little."
Rita pouted. "Why do you have to mention it now, you devil."
I smiled, then turned to Mashiro, who had been silent the whole time.
"Mashiro?"
"Um? Just go. It's Masamune's decision, so I'm fine."
Seeing her usually flat expression now wavering really makes me feel bad. She'll be fine without me, right? I mean, I always paid for all the food she ate at the store. Nah, she's rich. She'll be fine with the maids around her all the time.
"Hey, give me your phone."
I hummed and handed it to her. Rita said, "This is my email address. Make sure to tell me when you arrive there, got it?"
"Okay."
"Right..." Rita suddenly leaned in close and kissed my left cheek. "Take care, Masamune. Let's meet again when we're a little older."
Surprisingly, I was expecting some resistance from Rita and Mashiro. However, they understood that I can't live without a guardian. Meanwhile, Teresa and Charles went back to Larsenburg after New Year's. But even after what happened back then, Charles and I have remained friends. There's no reason to be sad. Because, people come and go.
A lot has happened lately.
I miss my mom and sister, but now I have the chance to see them again, which wasn't possible before. As for my father, I'm sure he's still angry after our last encounter. Yet, he didn't stop Mom and Chinatsu from visiting me. When I asked her about it, she simply said, 'Don't worry about it.
Another thing, I'm heading back to Japan. Grandpa told me that he's returning to Honda, as they've offered him an executive position there.
Regarding his role at Brawn GP, he mentioned that instead of working in England, he'll support the team remotely from Japan. His decision to return is driven by his love for his country and the company that shaped his career. He said it felt wrong to stay away while the world was facing a crisis, and he wanted to do his part to support his homeland.
Work has been going smoothly.
We've won the first four races, and we're aiming for our fifth win in Barcelona tomorrow.
After the first race, Hana became more obsessed with me. Hold up, though, it's not that way. She just wants me to work for her. But I don't want that, so now I am her business partner. Mommy gave me a 700 million loan, and I'm planning to use it for investment.
I recovered from that incident, though the stings and bites from the yellow jackets still haven't completely healed. Also, this time, we'll be living in Tokyo.
