Today is the second and last day of duels. I hope today will be the same as yesterday, without attracting much attention from anyone who came here to observe the duels.
Yesterday, all the five opponents were from other classes. Today though, each opponent is from my own class. So they would be better prepared to fight me than others.
Though it has been a year since they experienced my fights, they should have a better idea about my fighting style than others. Also, there were five matches yesterday, which I am sure a few should have watched if not all five of my opponents today.
I am sure about that because I sure did watch some of the matches that they fought. So, there is no reason to not believe that they didn't observe my matches yesterday.
With the insights gained from the previous day's matches, they should have been well prepared to tackle me today when they would face me.
So, I need to pay attention to them. If by mistake I bring out my Soul skills or any other skill that I didn't show in public, then I would be doomed.
I know that Soul powers are less known to others but I am sure that a few at the top should have some knowledge. So, no matter what Soul Skills can't be displayed in public. This was something I thought a long time ago.
Moreover, except for my Shadow element skills, I never showed anything to others. of course, there are my combat skills in close combat but to everyone out there, I would be a careful spellcaster who buried some of his weaknesses by learning close-range combat.
It was not something special. There are many spellcasters who did this in the past. After all, for every spellcaster, close-range combat is a danger zone. Once the opponent nears them, they will surely lose or die depending on the circumstances of their fighting.
Spellcasters are always best at long-range fighting. They can attack opponents from far away. Using powerful skills to kill their opponents before they come face to face. This is a good way to avoid any direct fight and thereby any injuries that may occur in the fight.
If the spellcasters can't defeat the opponents before they near them, then most of the time that would be the end of them.
Compared to warrior professionals, who have high strength, and can hold themselves against physical blows, spellcasters lack that. Sure there are some skills that can be used to shield them but magic is always best against magic and also the worst if a perfect counter is known.
In normal cases, physical attacks can overpower magical defences. So the spellcasters can't hold on long if a warrior professional reaches the spellcasters.
It was a well-known fact that an assassin is the best professional to take out a spellcaster. Of course, once that assassin was known to be in the surroundings, they would die if the spellcaster didn't die at first attack.
Though warriors can't instakill a spellcaster, they are best to eliminate them without losing many professionals in the process.
Anyway, my fighting in close combat wouldn't turn many eyes and I would be in a safe zone as it was already known that I learned Staff Arts and Hand Combat.
So, I can only use those in my fights and I am sure that those would be more than enough to defeat my opponents. As long as I don't leak the energy of a Tier-6, I am sure that I will get by without any trouble.
---
Meh, I never thought none of those five gave the satisfaction of having a good fight. I made sure that I wouldn't act like a Tier-6. Even though I was diverting some of my energy into controlling my true power from spilling out accidentally, I still won over them easily.
Since I felt a lot of eyes today than yesterday, I made sure to control my moves, making them quite unnatural. As I was controlling myself causing an imbalance, I couldn't fight them at my peak stage. Even with such disadvantages, I still was able to defeat them easily.
Sure, they were better than a year before and had prepared for me but they were useless.
Since I am a spellcaster, they prepared magic nullification items on them either as some necklace or bracelet or something on their body.
Each and every one of them had prepared one to nullify magic and one even prepared it to nullify solely shadow magic, which everyone knew about.
I have to say that they were well prepared. If the opponents were anyone else, they would have surely lost or would have won after a brutal fight but even without my magic against them, even limiting my magic power, I still had my staff, which was more than enough.
My physical attributes are very high, similar to many physical professionals. So, even though I lacked their skills, with the weapon arts and higher attributes, I easily overwhelmed my opponents.
Though by doing so, I am sure I attract some attention from those old fogies, I hope that not much attention was paid to me. Except for my mother, no one has yet to reach Tier-7 in my family. If the higher-ups wanted to do something, there was no way that my family could even remotely oppose the decision.
Anyway, if such a thing happened, I am not sure about that as no one remotely tried to approach me before we left for the academy. So if I made any mark, I am sure that it was within limits.
I am a noble-born child and that means I have access to certain things that the commoner children don't have, like treasures that can improve attributes. So I am sure that they may have thought I was just a spoiled child who was fed a lot of treasures and I hope that they thought so.
If that means I would avoid many issues, then I would gladly accept that, rather than have my freedom taken away.
Anyway, now the only exam part that remains is the Dungeon Diving.
Orthos, the middle-aged man who took us to the Duels, informed us that tomorrow was a rest day and the Dungeon exam would start the day after tomorrow and would be a week-long exam. We have to prepare supplies to survive a week in the dungeon. Except for those details, he didn't slip anything.
Whether it is a week or month long, I can survive inside easily but as he said, I need to prepare supplies tomorrow for the week-long dungeon diving.
