The Time a God of Destruction was reincarnated as a slime.

Chapter 8: The Abyssal Lords

The Walpurgis chamber, once filled with tension and fear, had now settled into an air of uneasy calm. The demon lords sat back in their seats, their gazes alternating between Beerus, who remained perfectly composed, and Guy Crimson, who was still recovering from his humiliation. After several moments of silence, Guy finally spoke, his voice measured but carrying a faint tremor.

"Beerus," he began, leaning forward, "given what we've witnessed here today, I want to extend an invitation. Will you join the Demon Lord Council?"Beerus tilted his head, his expression one of mild curiosity. "And why," he asked, his voice laced with disinterest, "should I bother with such a group when I'm stronger than all of you combined? What could possibly make this council worthwhile to me?"

The question hit Guy harder than expected, and for a brief moment, a single bead of sweat formed on his forehead. He sighed deeply and, with a snap of his fingers, erected a barrier around himself and Beerus to ensure their conversation remained private. The other demon lords exchanged confused glances but dared not interfere.Inside the barrier, Guy's demeanor shifted. His tone became serious as he leaned closer. "You're not wrong to question the purpose of the council, Beerus. Its existence isn't just about power—it's about balance. I was entrusted by Veldanava himself to act as a mediator for this world, to ensure it doesn't descend into chaos. My role is to maintain that balance, and that includes playing this… game with Rudra, the emperor of the Eastern Empire. It's all a delicate dance to keep the world from tearing itself apart."Beerus listened intently, his sharp eyes focused on Guy as he absorbed the explanation. For a moment, the god of destruction was silent, pondering the possibilities. His thoughts shifted to his own ambitions—how to reshape this world in a way that suited him. His goal began to take form: to build an empire greater than Rudra's, surpass the mighty Dwargon, and establish himself as the sole supreme power. Then, he would take control of Hell, Heaven, and every plane in between, solidifying his dominion over all.

"Interesting," Beerus finally said, his voice calm but carrying an edge of amusement. "So, you're the world's babysitter, trying to keep it from breaking itself. I suppose that means I have to keep an eye on you as well, to ensure you don't mess it up."Guy raised an eyebrow but didn't respond. Beerus leaned forward slightly. "Very well. I'll join your council—for now. But know this: I don't care for rules or bureaucracy. My allegiance is to my goals, not your petty politics."

Guy nodded, relieved but wary. "Fair enough. If you're on board, at least I can monitor what you're doing. For all our sakes."

Beerus chuckled, the sound low and menacing. "Wise choice, Crimson."

Guy dispelled the barrier, addressing the room with newfound authority. "It's been decided. Beerus will join the council."The other demon lords nodded in reluctant agreement. None dared object, not after the power Beerus had displayed. However, a new task lay before them: deciding on a name for the reformed council and assigning titles to each member. Suggestions flew across the room, most of them absurd and quickly dismissed. Finally, Beerus had enough.

"We'll be called the Abyssal Lords," he declared, his voice carrying an air of finality.

The room fell silent as the words sank in. After a moment, Guy nodded. "It fits. As of today, we are the Abyssal Lords."

Tradition dictated that Rain or Misery would announce the new name and titles to the world, but with their newfound loyalty to Beerus, Guy turned to him. "Do I have your permission for your subordinate to handle the announcement?"Beerus gave a slight nod. "Go ahead."

Zerna stepped forward, her aura calm and commanding, and began the proclamation:

"As of today, the Demon Lord Council shall henceforth be known as the Abyssal Lords. Let it be known to all who inhabit this world that these are the titles of the Abyssal Lords:Beerus, God of Destruction

Guy Crimson, the Lord of Darkness

Milim Nava, the Ultimate Dragonoid

Ramiris, the Queen Spirit of the Labyrinth

Draguel, the Mad Giant

Luminous Valentine, the Queen of NightmaresThis concludes the announcement."

With a wave of her hand, Zerna dispatched one of her subordinates to spread the message across the world. The Walpurgis ended with a sense of foreboding finality, the newly formed Abyssal Lords now a symbol of untold power and influence.

As the meeting adjourned, the demon lords couldn't shake the lingering fear that had been planted deep in their hearts. Beerus had not only joined their ranks but utterly redefined what it meant to be a demon lord. They had witnessed the rise of a being who stood above them all, and they knew that the world would never be the same again. After the formalities of the Walpurgis were concluded, the tension in the room gradually eased. With Beerus' overwhelming presence no longer pressing down on them, the demon lords found themselves able to breathe again—though unease still lingered. To break the remaining tension, Guy called for food and drinks to be brought in, an unspoken tradition at the end of these gatherings. The long dining table was soon laden with an array of extravagant dishes and fine wines, each catered to the tastes of the demon lords. Beerus, seated at the head of the table, sampled the offerings with casual disinterest, though a hint of curiosity flickered in his gaze. Despite the earlier chaos, the mood slowly lightened as the demon lords began chatting among themselves, trying to regain a semblance of normalcy.

Beerus leaned back in his chair, his golden eyes scanning the room. "I must say," he began, his voice calm but commanding, "you all are an… interesting group."Milim, her earlier fear now replaced with her usual childish energy, tilted her head and grinned. "So, Beerus! Are you going to destroy stuff everywhere you go, or are you actually fun to be around?"

Beerus smirked. "That depends on how cooperative everyone is. Speaking of which…" His gaze swept across the room, locking onto each demon lord in turn. "I'll be visiting each of you soon. I think it's time I got to know all of you—and your territories—better."

The room fell silent, and a collective bead of sweat formed on every forehead. The implication of Beerus paying them a visit sent shivers down their spines. To them, a "visit" from Beerus could very well mean devastation on a level they couldn't comprehend.Sensing their unease, Beerus chuckled softly. "Relax. It will be a friendly visit. No destruction… as long as you don't give me a reason."

The demon lords exchanged nervous glances, but Beerus' reassurance, coupled with his slight smirk, helped ease their fear. The tension began to dissipate, and the mood in the room lifted.

"You know," Guy said with a sly grin, raising his glass, "if nothing else, Beerus, you've certainly made this Walpurgis one to remember."

"I'll take that as a compliment," Beerus replied, raising his glass in return. The rest of the evening was surprisingly pleasant. The demon lords ate, drank, and exchanged stories, with even the reserved Luminous cracking a faint smile at one point. Draguel roared with laughter at a joke Milim told, while Ramiris clung to Beerus' arm, telling anyone who would listen that she was the first to know him.

As the night wore on, one by one, the demon lords began to leave. Milim was the first to bounce out of the room, declaring she needed to "train harder than ever." Luminous followed, vanishing in a flash of light, while Draguel stomped off with a hearty laugh, saying he looked forward to Beerus' "visit."Guy, the last to leave, lingered by the door. He turned back to Beerus, his crimson eyes gleaming. "You've shaken the world today, Beerus. I hope you're ready for the chaos you've unleashed."

Beerus gave him a confident smirk. "Chaos is the natural order of things. It's what makes life interesting."

With that, Guy nodded and disappeared into the shadows, leaving Beerus alone with his new subordinates, Zerna and Erza. The two primordial maids stood silently behind him, awaiting his command.

Beerus glanced at them and smirked. "Well, that was entertaining. Let's see what else this world has to offer."With a wave of his hand, the room dissolved into darkness, and the god of destruction vanished, leaving behind an empty hall that had just witnessed the birth of a new era.
