Chen Kai was busy planning out his exit route to return to Nanjing so he could focus on a salted fish life while his wife he left behind, is watching her own real life play.

"Isn't that what's his name…. the child from the Lin Family?" Su Lian's gossipy words attracted the attention of her lunchmates. They followed her gaze downwards.

In the plaza opposite her company, there were restaurants on three floors with different cuisines and atmospheres. Su Lian craved Japanese and dragged her friends to the restaurant. She didn't expect to have a show with her meal.

Da Mei works near her and joins her occasionally. Her boyfriend (a certain rich second gen) gave up the day of pampering to allow Su Lian to take her away for lunch.

Da Mei curiously looked at Lin Shen, who lacked his rich kid aura but still looked good despite being expelled from his family.

"Lin Shen. Nanjing is so big. I didn't expect to see him in our area," Da Mei commented. Her eyes moved to the voluptuous beauty opposite him.

The woman didn't escape Su Lian's eyes. "Did he bag that one?" she asked before stuffing her mouth with some sashimi.

"It looks like she's the one who bagged him," a coworker replied.

The ladies watched on as the woman plated some food for Lin Shen, sending him lingering glances. Lin Shen blessed her with a gentle smile every time she did. When he spoke he made sure to keep his focus on her, giving her all the respect she deserved even urging her to eat more.

Su Lian , Da Mei, and the other two ladies were not naïve innocents of the past, they could tell when someone was on a date to test the waters or someone who wanted to show good intentions.

Lin Shen and this big beauty were in both ships; it was interesting to have an outsider's view on this natural mating occurrence.

They relished and commented on every move the couple made. Da Mei and Su Lian gave their lunch mates a superficial background detail on Lin Shen, which piqued their interest.

An abandoned second gen from a big family name?!!! There must be more to the story! They want to know more!

Su Lian boldly took out her phone and positioned it to have a good view of the dating scene parallel to them below. The camera quality was crisp, too bad the environment was too noisy.

"Holy! Record! Start to Record!"

"Huh?" Su Lian lifted her head from her plate when she heard Da Mei's frantic words and stinging hits on her arm.

The other two snapped their heads up to see what Da Mei was hinting at.

Su Lian spotted it. Her eyes widen in mild shock, similar to Da Mei's reaction. They didn't expect to see these two people on the same path. Ah~ Enemies do cross on narrow paths.

"What sort of day did I step out on? I have to get this. Kai is going to laugh so hard." She quickly switched to video mode on the camera and panned out to get a wider view of the couple's surroundings. Seeing Chen Kai and Lin Shen's infamous ex coming on the scene, she knew it would be anything but a quiet walk by.

The camera was capturing everything. Lin Shen and the beauty just received their ordered meals. The two focused on the Western dish, speaking to each other in an intimate scene.

Two tables away a figure in a red chiffon mini dress hanging on the arm of a flamboyant rich kid.

Zhang Rui is a beauty in her own right but she tends to oversell her good traits, making her look ….. not so captivating. The large gold jewelry and the incompatible makeup were points deducted from her looks.

Da Mei spotted her from afar due to years of outside observance.

Zhang Rui and her new beau neared Lin Shen and his beauty; the latter was oblivious to them and stuck in their budding 2-person world.

The former spotted the beauty – Zhang Rui's inferiority complex flared; she clutched onto her rich beau giving the beauty a contemptuous look.

"Still blind, I see," Su Lian commented.

"Heh. Her mind is still small and her sight has become duller," Da Mei added with a soft laugh.

The rich kid beside Zhang Rui was gazing boldly at the beauty, eyeing her in an indecent manner.

The beauty, on the other hand, felt his disgusting gaze and glanced his way coldly.

Zhang Rui took this as another woman eyeing her property.

She stopped by the table, blocking the view of her beau, and gave the woman a disdainful smile. "Elder Sister, please be mindful of your wandering eyes. Its not good to be misunderstood." The voice wasn't low, and it was heard by the surrounding guests.

The beauty smirked, seeing through Zhang Rui's schtick, it wasn't the first time she met this type of woman. Looking at the companion she was treating like a trophy, the beauty felt the little puppy in front of her was much better.

Propping her chin on her closed fist, she replied in the same provocative tone. " Little sister. You should first advise your owner to control himself in public, lest you embarrass yourself by your misunderstanding."

"My misunderstanding? Its only maids like you who go all out to take what is not yours. Even if my man looks at you, you should know its out of your reach." Zhang Rui said all of this in a high tone.

The beauty laughed at Zhang Rui's brainhole.

As for Lin Shen, he continued eating, completely unbothered by his ex's idiotic behavior. He was set in a contemplative mood. He wanted to know if his brain was waterlogged when he pursued Zhang Rui.

What did he achieve when he got her into his bed back in college?

The title scumbag was plastered to his name; his brother and father scolded him for the unnecessary expenses; labelled a thief; expelled from a reputable college and now working in a night club as a fucking escort.

Lin Shen heaved a weary sigh. His youth was gone just like that because he wanted to suppress his poor roommate.

All his internal rambling made him ignore what was going on beside him. He was so mentally far from the debacle around him that it was too funny to the observers.

Above, Su Lian and her friends were watching everything intently. This was a live drama. They didn't have to worry about not hearing a word because Zhang Rui was loud with her stupid words.

Da Mei: "sigh… -_- Is she still like this?"

Su Lian frowned: "I'm beginning to judge Kai's taste."

Two lunch mates: "What are we missing here?"

Su Lian took a sip of her melon drink. " The budding shrew down there is my husband's ex. The abandoned 2nd gen with the top notch beauty was his roommate who hooked up with the shrew when they were in an official relationship…."

".......On top of that, those two plotted against Brother Chen to get his thesis but end up falling into his trap, resulting in them getting expelled. When that young master's family found out about it and his dark record in college he was thrown out of his family for self-education or whatever they want to call it," Da Mei continued nonchalantly, keeping her eye on the scene below them.

The two lunchmates were dumbfounded. They were still trying to process such a big melon.

The life of others can be so entertaining.

At that moment, Zhang Rui was blowing up her companion's dazzling status as the son of a company president. The name of the company flew over everyone's head, but to her it was a step up. He had status and power, she saw it in places they frequented and he never complain or budget about her wants and her spending.

Chen Kai was a poor xueba who had to pinch every penny. Lin Shen was only a second child to a rich household who curb her spending. The others who paid some attention to her didn't have much say in their social life, they had nothing worthy of her.

Truly pathetic.

To show her good catch she was basically plastered on her companion's side; she gave everyone the visual of a putting claim on the last man on earth.

She arrogantly told the beauty that she shouldn't be ashamed that her choice in a perfect partner. In her world this was something good but to the beauty, Zhang Rui was a clown.

"You should eat. It won't taste good cold. Remember last time."

A calm, unaffected male voice cute through the one-woman drama. The beauty blushed in embarrassment. She was having too much fun messing with that girl head that she forgot the guy opposite her. She was surprised that he wasn't annoyed by the idiotic conversation.

Zhang Rui on the other hand was momentarily shocked, her head snapped to the left, only to see her damn ex with an annoying nonchalant look. How can it be him? Her eyes narrowed after taking in this new Lin Shen. He was never this good when he was with her. Isn't all of this a façade to make himself look good.

She sneered," Ohhh. So its you. Fooling this woman to think you're good that's why she's so puffed up."

'Heh. Let's see how you walk out of this one? You're nothing but a throwaway child. You have nothing in your name yet still playing a rich kid.'

Zhang Rui whispered in her companion's ear, Lin Shen's background. She wanted to pay him back twice fold the embarrassment he dealt her a year ago.

"Another cockroach trying to be noticed," the young man commented in an arrogant tone.

"Darling you know her?" the beauty asked. The couple ignored the two people standing at the table who were looking like fools at the moment.

"The ex." Lin Shen didn't say much and continued to eat nonchalantly.

"Oh. Her." The beauty looked at the couple but focused on Zhang Rui. The disdain was clear in her eyes. She lost all interest in playing with her. "You can leave now. I don't want to indulge you anymore. You're affecting our lunch."

Zhang Rui heard the low key laughter from around them; it was college all over again. Her face was hot and flushed with humiliation. "You—"

"Do you know who I am? How dare you speak to me ----"

"Yo, don't start the cliched young master script here. Your weekly or monthly date interrupted us first while you keep leering at my woman. Don't take my silence for being weak. Please leave. That's asking nicely." Lin Shen cut through the scumbag's line before he continued.

The young man was livid. Again he lost face. Don't the words spoken by this gutter rat say that he's being pretentious? How dare he insult me like this? He was about to retort, but the brainless woman next to him cut him off.

"Your woman?! You don't even have more than a million in your name and you dare claim her to be your woman? You really like to think beautifully Lin Shen. A thrown away young master still thinks he's capable to climb back up the tree to meet a phoenix. Aren't you ashamed of yourself?"

Zhang Rui was on a roll.

Her crass behavior in a restaurant with many people from different walks of life only made her image of a passable beauty sink to the level of an uncultured shrew. Whispers ignited among them, and all eyes were aimed in her position.

She thought they were all talking about Lin Shen and this blind woman; she raised her head higher and looked down at the two.

Lin Shen continued to eat and the beauty was sending a text on her phone before eating as her date suggested.

A pregnant pause enveloped the area. Phones were still recording the midday drama show.

When the crowd saw that the seated couple had no intention of replying to the mad cow's words, bursts of laughter filled the restaurant.

At first Zhang Rui thought they were laughing at Lin Shen but her companion brought her back to reality. The young master slapped her hand away from his and took a step away from her. His face was a blooming red – a mix of anger and embarrassment.

His eyes were fierce and sharp like daggers when he looked at her. Zhang Rui stumbled back in fright. "D-darling. What's wrong?" Her voice was meant to sound coquettish but the trembling in it made it sound cracked.

"Next time you want to use someone make sure you have the attitude and looks to back it up."

He didn't wait for her to respond and left her standing there like a dying willow tree in the wind.

At that time, in the restaurant above Su Lian and the others were dumbfounded. How can a woman be so unaware and blind?

"Tsk. Public shame once again. How unlucky~" Su Lian said with a click of her tongue.

Da Mei glanced at her friend and saw the form of a gloating smirk on her face. She herself was happy to see Zhang Rui in her present state.

Take it as a payback for cheating and plotting against Chen Kai.

They both watched on as she glared at Lin Shen and his date venomously and ran away in defeat.

Such a third rate villain act.

Su Lian and her two friends continued to gossip about what happened, but Da Mei returned her gaze to Lin Shen.

Compared to the prodigal character he had since freshman year, the present Lin Shen is a restrained and somewhat calm person. His schtick of wearing bold brand-name clothing was gone and replaced with low-key luxury that complemented his stature and good looks. Maybe this is how the cultivated young master of the Lin Family was originally.

It really takes one to lose everything to understand it all.

Its good that he can change, and it looks like the beauty beside him is better than most.

'At least one of them is doing good. I wonder how the other two are faring?'
