Chapter 128: Chapter 128: Command Spell
Yoru had some knowledge of vampires, but not enough. If he'd understood them a bit better, he would have realized exactly what this strange feeling inside him was.
It was a condition known as Bloodsucking Impulse, a state that affected both the vampire and the one being fed upon. For the vampire, the act of drinking blood brought intense, almost euphoric pleasure—and that ecstasy was also transmitted to the one being bitten.
Like now—Yoru was under Flandre's influence, and if not for his own considerable self-control, he might've already succumbed to the sensations.
On the other side, Flandre had already begun breathing heavily, her small legs—draped over Yoru's body—squirming restlessly from the stimulation.
"Ugh… so hot… it hurts… but it's so delicious… Flandre wants more… mmf… cough cough…"
The little vampire mumbled incoherently before choking on the blood.
"Jeez… Be careful, will you?"
Yoru gently patted her back, watching her adorable face pull away from his neck as she coughed.
Her ruby-red eyes shimmered with flushed desire, lips stained with fresh blood. Clearly overtaken by passion, the girl suddenly pressed her lips against Yoru's—confused and flustered, he froze, unsure of what to do.
He just sat there, stunned, letting Flandre take the lead in this unexpected kiss.
But the moment didn't last long. A sudden sting on his lips snapped him back to reality—her fangs had sunk in again.
Did… did she just bite me again?
This girl… is she trying to eat me or something?
Yoru gave a tired but amused smile. First, he needed to calm her down. Using his power, it wasn't difficult.
The moment he thought that, Flandre, who had been feeding greedily, shuddered, then slowly pulled herself off of him, trembling slightly.
"Well? Feeling clearer now?"
Yoru asked with a bemused smile, watching the girl's adorable reaction.
"Master, you're so mean! I was just starting to feel really good…"
Flandre pouted in frustration. Being forcibly calmed from such intense excitement wasn't pleasant.
"If you kept going, you'd drain me dry. Have some sympathy for your Master—I'm just a normal human, you know."
Yoru chuckled and shook his head, wiping the blood from his lips as he stood—somewhat unsteadily. The blood loss hadn't been too severe, but she had been pretty aggressive. It had taken a noticeable toll.
"Sorry, Master…"
Realizing she'd gone too far, Flandre stuck out her tongue cutely and wiped the corner of her mouth, standing up alongside him.
"But Master's blood really is delicious… Flandre feels so full of energy now!"
Thus, the pink-tinted morning passed. Not long after Irisviel woke up, a maid delivered a message to Yoru:
As the Overseer of the Holy Grail War, the Holy Church had summoned him to collect a Command Spell as a reward for defeating a rule-breaking Servant.
"Huh? The Church already knows?"
Irisviel blinked in surprise. They had only defeated the true Caster last night. Logically, it should've taken much longer for word to reach the Overseer.
"It's not that strange," Yoru replied with a small laugh.
"As Overseers, it's only natural that the Church would have eyes around us."
He hadn't been completely sure at first, but this message confirmed it—someone had been watching them.
Though no one had breached the Einzbern barrier, they had clearly been tailed while outside.
There shouldn't be anyone capable of that… unless—Assassin. The one they supposedly eliminated.
With the skill Presence Concealment, Assassin was perfectly suited for stealth surveillance, able to move completely unnoticed by either Yoru or Flandre.
But Assassin had supposedly already been eliminated. In front of all the Masters and Servants, even—a retreat so comical, it raised eyebrows.
And precisely because of how ridiculous that exit was, Yoru couldn't help but suspect it was a fake.
Was it all just an elaborate ruse?
Rumor had it that Assassin's Master went to the Church for protection that same night—and coincidentally, that Master was Kirei Kotomine, the son of Risei Kotomine, the very priest overseeing the Fuyuki Church.
What's more, the Servant responsible for Assassin's exit was Archer, whose Master—Tokiomi Tohsaka—was also Kirei's mentor.
Even though Kirei had supposedly severed ties with Tokiomi after receiving his own Command Spells, the interwoven relationships were enough to make anyone smell a conspiracy.
If there was foul play, then perhaps the Church and Tokiomi had concocted the plan together. The reward Command Spell, offered as a prize for defeating a rogue Servant, may have been intended for Tokiomi all along.
But then—by sheer coincidence, Yoru had encountered and eliminated Caster first, completely throwing their scheme off balance.
Surely both the Church and Tokiomi were fuming right now.
Especially Tokiomi, who had already lost one of his Command Spells. He must be desperate to get it back.
Now, Yoru wondered—what did the Church really want by summoning him?
Would they actually hand over the Command Spell so easily? Or…
Was this a trap?
