Chapter 7: Satisfaction
Meanwhile..
Back in Eden street, a cab pulled up, besides a brown painted two story building. Out emerged a young brunette haired lady in her twenties, wearing a scarlet dress.
"Thank you." Kelly smiled paying off the man with bronze coins, the official and worst currency in planet enders. Going in the building, she went to the door labeled 17b.
'Knock knock!'
At first she tried pushing it open, in hopes the incident repeated itself like last time. But unfortunately it was locked, so she decided to knock. But still, no one answered the door.
'Where is he?' Now Kelly was really giving in to her fears of the worst possible scenarios, that might've happened to jack.
'I-i should go to the cops and file a missing persons report, yes. It's not too late.' Having no other option, she decided to go to the police and report jack missing, in hopes of finding him quicker.
"Kelly?" She heard a voice call out her name. Turning, she could see miss Lou with her pipe in mouth in a black revealing blouse.
"What are you doing here, and where are you off to in such a hurry?" Miss Lou calmly spoke, with a hint of mischievousness.
"Am looking for jack. He's not home, and we were meant to go out on a date today but.." hesitating, Kelly wasn't sure if she should inform miss Lou of her thoughts, because of multiple reasons. She didn't trust the old hag at all, and the smile she had on her face was certainly creepy and made her wary.
"But what? you can tell me anything." Miss Lou softly said with concern, grabbing Kelly's hand placing hers on top.
'Tsk.. bunch of idiots.' Miss Lou inwardly scoffed in disgust. She clearly knew why Kelly was here, and it was no other reason for jack. But unfortunately for Kelly and fortunately for her, the little rat which was her boyfriend was taken by officials.
"Ahh.. fine! well, I think something bad might've happened to him." Kelly spilled out the beans, not wanting to withhold any information from her. Afterall miss Lou might be a creep, but she is the house owner and she might be of help in finding jack.
"Something bad, now why would you think such darling?" Miss Lou acted surprised, clenching her heart a bit as if affected by such news.
"Well.. the day before yesterday he left his door open, and the golden template he used for validation at work got stolen." Kelly said, making miss Lou's eye widen a bit.
'G-golden template.. so that fucking twerp had a golden template since, and he still owed me 6 months of rent. Fucking bastard!' Miss Lou cursed clenching her fists tightly.
"Oh no.. now that is bad my dear." She exclaimed, maintaining a neutral face.
"Yeah~ and we have to report to the cops now, while it's still early." Kelly hurriedly spoke about to walk away to the station, but was held back by miss Lou.
"Wait! Though he never told me this but, aren't you being a little paranoid?"
"A little paranoid?" Kelly frowned.
"Yeah.. he might've gone to get some groceries, or hang out with his friends. You know men, they do all sort of crazy stuff." Miss Lou shrugged it as nothing, making Kelly frown more.
"Did you not hear any of what I just said? Jack never gets groceries, and he doesn't have any 'friends'." Kelly sarcastically said with her fingers.
"B-but.." miss Lou tried to stop Kelly, but the latter had made up her mind walking away.
'Shit! I have to think now or this chick will slip away from me, and god knows when I'll get another shot.' Miss Lou thought, seeing Kelly about to head out the doors.
"I-i know where he is!" Miss Lou shouted, making Kelly stop in her tracks.
"Really, then where is he?" Kelly excitedly asked turning round, a renewed hope rising in her.
"I would tell you, but he asked me to keep it a secret." Miss Lou said with a scoff, folding her arms together.
'A secret?' Kelly wondered, not knowing what miss Lou was talking about. "What do you mean he asked you to keep it a secret?"
"Ahh.. just like he said, so inquisitive." Miss Lou snorted, pouting a bit. "I've already said too much. If you don't believe me then you might go to the cops. Your loss." Miss Lou said walking up the steps, opening the door to her room.
Hesitating, Kelly couldn't make out if miss Lou was lying or not, as the latter seemed so sure about Jack's location.
'Shit. I can't afford to loose jack.'
"Wait!" Kelly shouted running after miss Lou, grabbing her hand firmly. "A-am sorry about my behavior earlier, I can be a little paranoid sometimes."
"Hmm.. and why should I listen to you now?" Lou scoffed, averting her gaze from Kelly.
"B-because.. I'll do anything you want." Kelly uttered, which pitched miss Lou's ears as her eyes lit up with excitement.
"Anything you say?" She slyly grinned, taking a big puff from her pipe.
.....
Meanwhile back at j and j enterprise..
Jack still stood there in shock, staring at Kelly in front. At first he'd thought he was dreaming, pinching himself multiple times, but unfortunately this was reality.
'No, this can't possibly be real.' Jack thought, still finding it hard to believe his eyes. He'd known Kelly for years, and they had a connection so she couldn't betray him. She was the one who got him his job here in the first place, so if she wanted to rat him out why not since? Why now of all times, after all they've been through together? It just didn't make sense.
"I see you're still in shock Mr Anderson, and so am I to be honest." Ronald chuckled, with a smug smile plastered across his face.
"But you see, my daddy always told me one thing. Never let your woman know when you're insecure." He solemly said in a sad tone, staring up to the sky a bit downcast.
"Now you Mr Anderson let your woman know when you're insecure, and she fucked you right in the asshole." He clicked his tongue, shaking his head a bit.
"Now I can't imagine how painful that is. To be betrayed by the very same woman you put your faith in, stabbed in the back." Puffing some air from his tobacco, he then threw it to the ground. Crushing it with his spiked black shoes.
"P-please, I can explain Mr Ronald-"
"There's no need for explaining boy, I've already forgiven you." Ronald smiled gently dusting jack, picking him up to his feet.
"Y-you have?" Jack awkwardly asked not trusting Ronald one bit, as he knew the latter wouldn't just let this slide.
"Of course! Being a bigger man is all about learning to forgive." Ronald smiled, hugging jack which startled the latter a bit.
"Come miss Kelly, we have business to attend to." Letting out a scoff Kelly then followed behind Ronald, glancing a sly look at jack as she passed by.
"But my daddy also told me never to collect gold when a bone is owed." Ronald said in a sinister tone, gesturing his guards to take care of jack.
'W-what the fuck is happening?' Jack wanted to scream, but the life had been sucked out from him after what he just saw.
First he was going to be kicked out from his apartment, and now his childhood friend and crush had just betrayed him before his eyes, for reasons unknown to him.
But those wasn't the top of his problems right now, as he was about to be manhandled by a bunch of scary looking men.
"Great.. I never thought I'd go out this way." He sighed shaking his head. "Oh well, might as well go out with a fight."
Taking a fighting stance, jack prepared himself for the storm brewing. He knew in his heart, there was no chance of him winning this fight but still. It was better to go out with a fight than being a coward.
"Argh!" Jack charged forward, his fists clenched not waiting to be intercepted. Throwing out his fist to the first guard, the latter dodged as Jack's hit lacked power and speed.
"Phough!" Jack coughed up fresh blood, as a fist was sent by the guard to his guts. Clenching his teeth, he managed to get up throwing out a barrage of fists at nothing but thin air.
"Look everyone it's jack the wind thrower, throwing caution to the wind." One of the guards mockingly said, to which they all chuckled.
"Come at me you fucking cowards!" Jack screamed like a madman, throwing out his fist with all the speed with him
'Bam! Crack!' It managed to hit a guard by his side, stunning the latter a bit. But he didn't go unscathed also, as some bones in his knuckles were broken.
"Haha! I hit one." Jack crackled wildly like a deranged individual.
"You're dead now Anderson." They all ganged up on jack, throwing out fists and kicks to him. He didn't care though as he managed to hit one of the guards, which was somewhat of a satisfaction for him.
