Chapter 15: Overpowered by the Alpha
The air grew heavy, suffocating, as Julls stepped closer to Cael. A dark smile played on his lips, predatory and confident, as if he already knew the outcome of this encounter.
"You're quite the surprise," Julls murmured, his deep voice reverberating through the narrow alley. "I wasn't expecting to stumble upon a dominant omega tonight."
Cael tried to steady himself, but the heat coursing through his body mixed with the oppressive weight of Julls' presence made it impossible. He backed up until his legs hit the rough brick wall of the alley.
"Stay… stay away," Cael managed to whisper, his voice trembling as much as his body.
Julls tilted his head, his sharp features illuminated by the faint glow of a distant streetlamp. "Oh, but why would I do that? You reek of fear and… something else entirely." His smirk widened as he inhaled deeply, his nostrils flaring.
Then it happened. Julls released his pheromones.
The shift in the air was immediate and overwhelming. The sweet, intoxicating scent of his dominant alpha pheromones flooded the narrow space, overpowering everything else. It hit Cael like a tidal wave, and his knees buckled beneath him. He gasped, his body trembling as he fell to the cold, dirty ground.
The mingling of scents—Julls' commanding, musky aroma and the sugary, vulnerable sweetness of his own omega pheromones—was dizzying. Cael tried to crawl away, his hands weakly scraping against the pavement, but his limbs felt heavy, as though weighed down by an unseen force.
"W-what are you doing?" Cael choked out, his voice barely audible.
Julls crouched a few feet away, watching him with the precision of a predator toying with its prey. His golden eyes gleamed in the darkness, glowing faintly like a predator's gaze under the moonlight. "What's the matter, little omega? Can't handle it?" His voice was smooth but carried an undercurrent of danger, each word laced with a taunt.
"Stop… please," Cael pleaded, his vision blurring as his head swam with the potency of Julls' scent. His hands shook as he tried to push himself upright, but his body refused to cooperate.
Julls chuckled darkly, the sound reverberating through the alley. "Stop? Now, where's the fun in that?" He moved closer, his boots crunching on the gravel as he loomed over Cael.
The tension in the air was unbearable. Every step Julls took seemed to press down on Cael's chest, making it harder to breathe. The alpha's scent wasn't just potent—it was consuming. It seeped into every corner of Cael's mind, clouding his thoughts and leaving him vulnerable.
"Let me guess," Julls said, crouching in front of him. "This is your first heat, isn't it? That's why you look so… lost."
Cael flinched at the observation, his lips trembling as he tried to form a response. But no words came. His mind was a whirlwind of panic and helplessness, and his body refused to obey him.
Julls leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a low, husky whisper. "You're trembling. Is it the heat, or is it me?"
Cael's heart raced, his pulse pounding in his ears. His instincts screamed at him to run, to fight, to do anything but stay here, but his body was betraying him. His breathing quickened as Julls' pheromones continued to wrap around him like a vice, leaving him intoxicated and weak.
"Your scent," Julls murmured, his eyes narrowing as he took another deep inhale. "It's… divine. No wonder they wanted to keep you hidden."
Cael's breath hitched. He didn't know what Julls meant, but the words only added to his unease. He clenched his fists, trying to summon what little strength he had left.
"I said… stay away," Cael managed to say again, his voice shaking but holding a shred of defiance.
Julls paused, his eyes glinting with something unreadable. Amusement? Curiosity? He leaned back slightly, his smirk softening into a grin that was no less dangerous. "Fiery, aren't you? I like that."
The alpha finally straightened, towering over Cael as he watched him struggle to gather himself. For a brief moment, it seemed as though Julls might back off, but his presence lingered, oppressive and suffocating.
"I'll let you go this time," Julls said, his voice dripping with mock benevolence. "But don't think this is the end, little omega. I always get what I want."
With that, he turned and disappeared into the shadows of the alley, leaving Cael trembling and gasping for air.
Cael collapsed onto his hands and knees, his body quivering as he tried to shake off the lingering effects of Julls' pheromones. His mind raced with questions and fears, but one thing was clear: this was only the beginning.
