Chapter 1: Life Is Weird
"Sigh" I was frying some fish I had captured in the fireplace. Exhausted was my middle name, all this fishing, hunting and gathering and what not was taking a toll on me. Not to mention the fact that I had been alone on this goddamn island for so many years. Years, you ask? Of course! I've been marooned here for five goddamn years! That's besides the point, I know I've reincarnated because I do remember bits and pieces of what was my past life.
ESPECIALLY my death, how'd I die? Great question! Aren't you the curious soul. I got hit by a truck while I was crossing the street, quite the let-down, no?I don't blame you, I was dissapointed too. When I woke up, I found myself in the middle of a forest. No signs of human life, no signs of civilization, nothing.
I spent the first few days orienting myself, trying to find somewhere I can drink some water. I had to kneel down and lap the water up like a dog because I was so thirsty. When I had quenched my thirst lo and behold, I saw for the first time my appearance. I knew I was young, because of my tiny stature, but DAMN I was young. If I had to put a range on it I would say I'm about nine to ten years old.
Anyway, I spent the next couple of days setting up camp, and finding ways to get food, thus the fishing hunting and gathering. I was doing fine till one day I saw a wolf the size of a bulding hunting, or stalking an equally huge deer like animal. "Thank God i'm not on the menu," I thought. Suddenly it sniffed the air as if it caught onto a scent before it reared its ugly head at me. What happened next?
Great question because I never stuck around to find out. I was gone before it even made a move. "I have to get stronger," I thought as I tore through the forest. Adrenaline pumping, breaths heavy, I didn't stop till I made it all the way back to camp. "Where the hell did I wake up in? Why is that wolf the size of an apartment complex?" breathing heavily I contemplated.
A few days had passed since the incident. I still had no clue where I was and how I got there, however, the first question would be answered quite easily when I had happened to stumble upon the weirdest fruit I had ever seen in my two lives when I was picking some herbs and fruits. It had grayish-silver looking scales, the stem on top had gold highlights and a yellow branch on top. It took an oval like shape and was attached to the branch of a smaller tree. "One Piece," I instantly thought as I looked at the fruit.
Only in One piece would you find the most absurd designs of fruit just hanging there along with other fruits like nothing was happening. I had watched the anime when I was younger, up to the Wano Arc, unfortunately. "Well at least I know where I am now..." I muttered under my breath as I scaled the tree, I had to take it slow because my tiny hands and feet were weak. I mean I was a kid for God sake! I plucked the fruit from its stem before I jumped down. Bad idea, I heard cracking sounds when I landed and I sat on my ass for quite some time.
I limped all the way back to camp and sat inside the makeshift tent I struggled to make and stared at the fruit for quite sometime. "I've never seen a fruit like this before in the anime," I pondered for quite sometime before ultimately closing my eyes and gorging it. "ugh!" I choked on the taste as I devoured the entire fruit. Disgusting wasn't the word for such abominations, couldn't even describe the taste to you if I could. It took me sometime to get over it, but I did come to notice that my leg stopped aching quickly as time went by.
Zoan? Sounded possible considering the fact that zoan users tend to have rapid healing capabilities along with enhanced defense. Moreover, I wouldn't know what kinda animal I was until I met the big bad wolf again. It looked quite hungry considering the fact that it was drooling while looking at me. "Looks like he managed to follow my scent all the way here" I lately noted as it slowly approached my place of residency. Scared? Of course not, I was terrified! How else is someone supposed to react when they see a wolf the size of a building giving them a staredown?
