Chapter 3: A Bloody Victory
We were back to where we started. A bloody staredown, the only difference being that we were both injured. Once again, I took initiative and lunged at the bastard, tackling it and making the wolf lie on its back. I managed to take another bite at its already bloody neck and exerted even more force on the bite. This time, I was intent on breaking its neck and killing the bastard. I was exhausted. All three of my heads were hurting, my torso was bleeding profusely along with the other scratches and gashes in my body inflicted by that big bad wolf.
The wolf naturally didn't take my tackle with open arms. It resisted while growling fiercly at me, using all its limbs to claw at me viciously. More wounds appeared on my body but I refused to let go of its throat. I couldn't let go, I felt as if I was using the last of my stamina. Me letting go of this bloody wolf would mean an even longer battle that I couldn't bear.
I would have loved to fly away so I can recover, but the wolf somehow managed to creat gashes on my wings. I wasn't sure whether I could be able to fly effectively as I wanted to.The struggle went on for quite some time, ending in my victory; naturally. I managed to summon enough strength to break the wolf's neck just before the big bad wolf could pry free from my grasp. Letting out a small whimper before succumbing to its injuries.
I let go of its neck to take deep breaths. All my heads needed some fresh air after what we went through. My body began shrinking slowly as I reverted back to human form. my tiny body rattled with countless wounds. At that point I didn't even care about the fact that I had won against an opponent who was at least ten times my height. I passed out on the wolf's fur, not caring about whether or not I would die from here.
It was night time when I had woken up, a cloudless moon radiated its silver light upon the forest. I could hear nothing but insects buzzing and the occasional animal trudging nearby. I wasn't at my peak state yet, however, I would dare argue that I felt a hundred times better than I was when I killed the wolf. I managed to get up and slowly trudge back to camp, I'd later come back for the wolf's corpse in the morning. When I reached the camp and got inside the tent, it was time to re-evaluate my priorities.
I kind of understood the plot of One Piece, and all the scummy and un scummy things that would be happening later on. However, the value of my knowledge can only be determined by which time period I was in within the plot. If I was already at the Wano Arc. Then all my knowledge is as good as shit, no, shit can be valuable as fertilizer. My knowledge would be utterly useless, knowing which time period I am in was going to be essential in setting my goals and ambitions with this second life.
However, my top priority would be learning haki. Haki could be defined as the physical manifestation of a person's spirirtual power. It was the very thing that made beating devil fruit users possible. Hell, if trained enough, you could even see the future. If I wanted to have some kind of advantage against devil fruit users without needing my Devil fruit. Haki, would be the way to go.
Additionally, speaking of devil fruit, I would also need to train that as well. If I am able to awaken it, it would be a formidible and valuable asset to have in battle. I can already imagine myself becoming a monster like Kaido, an Emperor of the Seas. I had much work to do, luckily I had nothing but time. I was in the middle of nowhere, I had nothing to do except train; and that is exactly what I did. That would come later on because first, I needed to tend to my wounds that the big bad wolf had done me the oh-so-kind favor of inflicting. I had no forms of first aid so what would I do?
"Screw it, I'll go take a bath in the stream." I muttered as I went to the water. Under the reflection of the moon, I saw my appearance once more. Long dark gray hair, roughly falling down to my shoulders; my eyes, that were once almond brown, became pitch black. My skin tone although almond, was riddled with gashes and scars. I took a deep breath as I jumped into the stream holding my self underwater for a little bit before surfacing. Thank God the water was shallow, because I had forgotten one of the two fatal weaknesses of devil fruit users: Water, and Sea Stones. I felt the already abismal energy that I had leave me almost instantaniously, and it took me all the willpower left in my body to stand in the stream.
