The Vice Captain of the WhiteBeard Pirates

Chapter 34: The Turbulent Sea

[ Third Person POV ]

MarineFord

The Marine's headquarters had been busy in the following months. The pirates continued to flood the grandline, attempting to reach the New World; and it wasn't helping that they caused chaos everywhere they were at while on their voyage their. In the Fleet Admiral's office, you could easily hear Kong yelling at surbordinates to do their work more effectively while on multiple transponder snails. Inside, Kong side as he leaned back on his chair. It had been a chaotic few months for the marines.

More and more pirates kept emerging from theh four blues and grandline. All hell-bent on reaching the New World, which had been a paradise of some sorts for pirates. Every one was working overtime trying their best to surpress all the pirates that kept popping up and causing a fuss. What added more stress on him was the fact that the World Government was literally breathing down their necks, pestering them to handle the chaos that was occuring and also was affecting the allied nations; who constantly complained about pirates.

The New World was even worse, WhiteBeard had made his presence known along with his 16 division commanders. With the man power of more than 10,000 people, they were constantly in conflict with the new pirates who kept raiding Whitebeard's territory. However, he wasn't the only pirate with a significant sphere of influence. Charollette Linlin, also known as Big Mom, was also making her presence known throughout the New World as well. Her children invading different World Government affiliated islands and claiming them as their territory. The lords of these territories were promptly killed without hesitation. Kaido had also stirred trouble in the New World, constantly harrassing the marines

As a result, Allied governments had begun to question the security of the World Government's protection. Many demanding an explaination from the World Government as well. This did not bode well for the World Government. The main funds that they received came from what the World Government received annually from these affiliated nations. If the affiliated nations had decided to leave the World Government all together. It would deal a huge blow to the World Government, and it would start losing influence slowly before its destruction.

They needed to grab the reins over the chaotic situation unfolding in the world. As a result, they began to pressure the marines to quell the chaotic sea. Admiral Kong had spread his forces thin trying to maintain the little order he could. He had sent Sengoku over to North Blue to handle an upstart pirate group known as the Donquixote Family. While Garp was busy chasing down Roger's crew, who were also making quite the commotion over the New World as well. As for the three candidates who were given the devil fruits : Borsalino, Sakazuki, and Kuzan were doing their best to help out the navy. Often sending them along with Zephyr, Sengoku and Garp whenever they were out on the sea.

Fleet Admiral Kong couldn't leave his spot in Marine Ford, as it would have brought out political implications that the World Government would catch hell for if the affiliated nations would have caught on. There was nothing Fleet Admiral Kong could have done to increase his efforts as the chaos continued to rampage across the sea. The best he could have done was sent Zephyr to help out occasionally in the New World whenever he would be free. He couldn't let him out all the time as he needed him to hold down MarineFord.

Admiral Kong was not having a good time. He would often get migrains whenever he would get reports of what pirates were doing. The good news, however, was that it was working; more and more pirates were getting either caught or killed thanks to the efforts of the marines. Taking prisoners to Impel Down was becoming a daily occurence as the Head Warden processed and punished the pirates with deadly efficiency. It was working, but it wasn't working well enough to satisfy the World Government, along with the allied nations.

Garp suddenly swung the doors open as he walked in while picking his ears. Kuzan, a tall man with tanned skin and black hair, and Dragon, who had long hair and features that were barely reminiscant to his father, walked in. While Garp made himself comfortable sitting on the couch that was on the left side of Kong's desk, Kuzan and Dragon stood next to him as they listened in to the conversation that Garp had with Kong. Kong looked at Garp, saying, "I don't believe that this is the time to be idle, go out there and capture some pirates!"

Garp continued to pick his ears while replying,"I am catching pirates, if anything I've been catching the most pirates between Zephyr, Sengoku and I. Besides, can't I catch a break? These pirates keep popping their heads like endless coachroaches!"

Kong sighed before replying, "It can't be helped, every pirate wishes to make a name for themselves out in the New World, challenging the likes of Whitebeard and Big Mom's authority. We need to brace ourselves and wait out the tide before we can start cleaning up."

Garp continued picking his nose while saying nothing, while Kong asked a different question, "So? What of Roger? How goes the pursuit?" To this question, Garp could only sneer before flicking whatever substance that was in his ear of his finger before replying.

"The sneaky bastard always seems to be just out of reach. Everytime I seem to get closer to him, he just gets away everytime. It's rather frustrating to have to go through this everytime; this endless game of cat and mouse."

Hearing Garp's words made Kong's expression darken slightly. The World Government had also put Roger's search for the poneglyphs on notice. The five elders themselves ordered Kong to arrest Roger before his influence could get any bigger. Kong had Garp on this case, but it appears that he had also been going through trouble trying to capture and arrest this man. It was quite a troublesome situation for the marines.

Kong could only sigh before telling Garp, "Take a break from chasing Roger, he will show up eventually nearby and be captured. go out to the blues and clean some of the pirates up, your presence will be a huge asset to the order of it."

Garp could only grumble before getting up and getting out. He didn't like the fact that he had been sent away from Roger while he was out there doing God knows what. However, he could do nothing but comply. Besides, it would prove therapeutic to slam some pirates heads in to vent out some anger. Kuzan and Dragon followed Garp quietly as they left the room, leaving Fleet Admiral Kong back to his quietude. He could only take a deep breath before burying himself into the mountain of paperwork.
