The Villain Left the Sect at the Beginning, Now They Regret It

Chapter 11

Chapter 11: The Centipede Bone-Devouring Gu:

“A Gu parasite?!”

Elder Xuanle’s face turned deathly pale in shock.

Gu parasites were far worse than poison—more vicious and much harder to deal with! Poison, no matter how deadly, could often be neutralized with an antidote pill. But Gu parasites came in countless variations, each requiring a different method to expel from the body.

He had always protected Yaoyao carefully. How could she have suddenly been infected with a Gu?

“Yaoyao is only fourteen! Who could be so cruel…?”

Xuanle’s eyes turned red with rage. Kneeling on trembling knees, he pleaded with Tang Mo, his voice desperate. “Alchemist Tang, can you save my disciple? I will give you anything you ask for! I was blinded by my own panic earlier—I sincerely apologize! Please, save her!”

Li Weixi anxiously asked, “Is it possible to remove the Gu?”

Tang Mo nodded and quickly said, “Elder Xuanle, please rise. I will do my best to save her.”

“Alchemist Tang…” Xuanle’s voice shook. “What do we need to do?”

Tang Mo explained what he had seen through his spiritual vision. “The parasite inside her is a Centipede Bone-Devouring Gu. Once it enters the body, it burrows into the bones and feeds on vital essence and spiritual energy, all while releasing venom. Taking detoxification pills without first removing the Gu will only make it more active.”

No wonder the palace healers had mistakenly diagnosed it as poisoning. The detoxification pills they had administered had only worsened the condition!

Xuanle’s beard trembled in fury, but before he could say anything, Tang Mo continued swiftly,

“She has about two hours left. Elder, you need to make an incision at her Bingfeng Acupoint. I will use spiritual energy to guide the parasite out of her body. Once its head emerges, you must seize it immediately.”

Then, Tang Mo turned to Li Weixi with a serious expression. “You still have injuries. When the Gu comes out, it will seek a new host through open wounds. Stay far away to avoid any accidents.”

Li Weixi obediently nodded and stepped back several meters. Warmth filled her heart at his cautious concern, and she didn’t want to make things harder for him.

Xuanle, gritting his teeth in fury, declared, “I won’t give it that chance!”

Tang Mo nodded in approval. Supporting Yaoyao, he gently turned her onto her stomach and placed his fingers at the nape of her neck, signaling Xuanle to begin.

Xuanle caressed his beloved disciple’s pale face with deep sorrow, then clenched his jaw and swiftly ran his fingertip over her shoulder blade.

A faint groan escaped the unconscious girl’s lips as a three-centimeter wound appeared at the Bingfeng Acupoint. Black blood slowly seeped out.

Tang Mo immediately channeled his spiritual energy into Yaoyao’s body, carefully following the meridians to approach the Gu parasite burrowed in her spine. Stopping above the Shendao Acupoint, he refrained from forcing it out through brute force.

The parasite had been feeding inside Yaoyao for days and had grown to four centimeters in length—just shy of developing its full set of centipede legs. It was already extremely aggressive.

If he rashly drove it out through the spine, it might leave her body, but her bones would be left necrotic and damaged beyond repair. The rescue would be pointless.

Tang Mo’s approach was to lure the parasite away from the spine voluntarily and guide it along a safer path.

Yaoyao’s spiritual energy had been nearly consumed, so when it sensed fresh spiritual energy entering her body, Tang Mo could see through his spiritual vision that the parasite was getting restless. Soon, its tiny head peeked out cautiously from the spine, eager to taste the enticing green spiritual energy.

But most of its body remained hidden, greedily but cautiously observing.

How do you lure a fish onto the hook? By making it think there’s more to eat.

Tang Mo deliberately severed a small wisp of spiritual energy and drifted it toward the opening. The parasite lunged forward like a shark catching the scent of blood, swallowing the energy in one gulp. Within seconds, it swayed as if intoxicated.

The allure of alchemic spiritual energy was stronger than he had expected.

The parasite hesitated for a moment, then greedily scanned for more “delicious nectar.” Seeing that more rich, fragrant spiritual energy lingered above, it could no longer resist. It crawled forward, its centipede-like limbs scraping against the spine as it sought to devour its next meal.

Tang Mo carefully maintained a steady flow of spiritual energy, always keeping it slightly out of reach to guide the parasite toward the incision.

Though he had skillfully maneuvered it past major meridians and acupuncture points, it was still writhing inside Yaoyao’s body. Her face twisted in agony as large beads of sweat pooled onto the jade pillow beneath her.

The intense pain and fever made her whimper in distress. “Master…”

“Master, it hurts… Yaoyao… it hurts!”

Her unconscious cries were heart-wrenching. Xuanle, overwhelmed with grief, clenched his hands as murky tears soaked his knotted beard.

Ever since Yaoyao was born, he had protected her with utmost care, never allowing her to suffer the slightest injury. And now, she was enduring unimaginable torment.

Who in the heavens could be this cruel?

Afraid of startling her, Xuanle wiped her sweat with trembling hands, murmuring, “Yaoyao, be strong… endure just a little longer… Once this is over, Master will take you to Drunken Fragrance Pavilion and let you eat everything you want!”

Miraculously, Yaoyao stopped thrashing at his words. Though her body still trembled, she instinctively bit her lip, forcing herself to endure the pain.

Watching this, Li Weixi clenched her fists.

Yesterday, in her nightmares, she had also cried out for her mother—just as helpless and vulnerable.

Looking at the bond between Xuanle and Yaoyao, her emotions grew complicated—jealousy mixed with a quiet yearning.

Yaoyao had someone who treasured her. Meanwhile, her own master had only ever viewed her as a vessel for the Heavenly Demon Physique.

“Alchemist Tang, how is she?” Xuanle anxiously asked. “Are you almost done?”

Tang Mo didn’t respond—his entire focus was locked onto the parasite. The veins on his hand bulged as he strained to maintain the perfect balance of spiritual energy.

This Gu was craftier than he expected!

It had followed the bait all the way toward the exit, but now, just as it neared the incision, it hesitated.

The small morsels of energy alone weren’t enough to make it leave its host.

Tang Mo smirked coldly. A mere parasite wanted to outsmart him?

He concentrated his energy, gathering a surge of spiritual power right at the wound’s opening.

To the parasite, the previous wisps of energy had been mere appetizers—just a taste. But now, the grand feast was right in front of it!

The overwhelming desire for food shattered its attachment to the host’s body. It surged forward, ignoring the scattered spiritual energy along the way, and lunged greedily toward the exit!

“Get ready!”

Tang Mo’s voice was firm. Xuanle had been waiting for this moment. He didn’t need to be told twice—he could already see the outline of the parasite bulging beneath Yaoyao’s delicate skin!

In just two breaths, the Gu burst through the wound, revealing its two long antennae. Yaoyao let out a heart-wrenching scream.

Tang Mo didn’t hesitate. He immediately withdrew his internal spiritual energy while using external force to push the parasite out.

More alchemic spiritual energy hovered over the wound, ensuring that the parasite would fully emerge.

The moment the writhing, glossy black-purple head became visible, Xuanle struck.

With a swift motion, he enveloped his hand in spiritual energy, grabbed the parasite, and yanked it out. Without hesitation, he crushed it in his grip!

Yaoyao’s cries ceased instantly. Her tense body slackened, and a trickle of dark venom dripped from the corner of her lips.

“Yaoyao!”

Xuanle, still clutching the wriggling, centipede-like corpse, was drenched in cold sweat.

“Alchemist Tang, does this mean she…”

“Rest assured, Elder.” Tang Mo had already scanned Yaoyao’s condition. He exhaled in relief and smiled. “The child is safe.”

Seeing the dead Gu, Li Weixi hurried over, her expression filled with concern. “What about the lingering poison?”

“The parasite is gone, but some residual toxins remain. They can be treated with standard detoxification methods—her life is no longer in danger.”
