The Villain Only Wants To Live a Buddhist Life

Chapter 34

Chapter 34: Dark Demon Does Not Understand the Darkness of Night

Dark did not stay up late waiting for the “Arrogance II” cooldown to pass.

Awakening at dawn, the faint light filtered through the curtain patterns, casting speckled shadows.

Dark fired an “Arrogance II” at the small imp beast blinking its eyes.

“AH—HAHA?! (~ˇ~)/!”

The small imp beast flew into the air, looking down on its master from above, laughing arrogantly while clinging to the ceiling.

Dark did not pay attention to such trivial matters: “Imp Beast, use another skill against the wall.”

A familiar cannot disobey a formal command from a magus.

In this regard, it was ironically the golem, which lacked a valve, that had more autonomy.

Of course, under normal circumstances, a golem with an intelligence level of 2.0 would never produce thoughts of defying their master’s commands.

Thus, despite being extremely reluctant, the small imp beast still used another skill against the wall.

Suddenly, it widened its eyes, and two spiral beams shot out from its dark golden pupils!

If the wall hadn’t been fine, Dark might have thought it had mastered some kind of “Magical Light Cannon (Eye)” skill.

But he quickly realized this was likely a specialized skill for living beings.

So, Dark immediately summoned 【Magical Beast: Eevee】.

Although a golem wasn’t a traditional living being, it was considered a quasi-life form.

Sure enough, the spiral beams shot from the small imp beast’s eyes finally took effect; Eevee’s eyes gradually became dazed, and it eventually fell asleep!

– [Ultimate Skill: Demon Hypnosis]

– [Demon Hypnosis: Emitting hypnotic waves from the eyes to hypnotize enemies.]

After completing this small experiment, Dark began to set his next goal.

“This month still has five points quota for ‘Arrogance’… It feels like it’s not enough?”

“The three-day shelf life of the Thought Bottle is too short; perhaps I should get some credits to buy a higher-grade one.”

“Also, I feel like trying to make other Magic Cards in the Capital Sin series.”

“Hmm… Let me see, the closest to 100 points is Wrath and Bliss…”

“Hold on, why am I having these thoughts?”

“Dangerous! Dark Demon!”

Dark quickly dismissed these dangerous thoughts; his current priority was to reduce the “Arrogance” value before proceeding with other experiments.

After a month of refinement, his self-control was becoming stronger. Apart from “Bliss,” which was hard to control, and “Wrath,” which had hidden risks, only “Greed” posed a slight danger.

Once the hardest to control “Arrogance” was reduced, there wouldn’t be immediate issues.

With even stronger self-control, he could try to keep a specific Capital Sin fluctuating around 100 points…

“Sss! Dangerous idea, Dark Demon!”

As the sky over St. Maryan was covered by dark clouds.

First-year students welcomed their second Potions class of the week.

Dark arrived early as usual, but he was surprised to find two people he rarely saw in the classroom.

Wit and Robert, who were unusually here early today!

“What’s wrong with them? Did their familiars get stuck in their heads?”

Even though he noticed something off about them a couple of days ago, Dark didn’t think too deeply about it.

But today’s situation was particularly noticeable!

Wit, although not as flamboyant as others, was usually very image-conscious.

Dark had never seen him look so disheveled today!

And what was wrong with those eyes?

Had someone bullied him?

Could it be that besides me, Dark Demon, someone else dared to bully the Hero’s Child?

OMG!

What was that thing tied to Robert’s forehead?

“Victory?”

Are you planning to debut as the main character?

Dark looked bewildered.

As the class time approached, more students filled the classroom.

Some couldn’t help but ask questions.

Wit gnawed on his pen while reading, his face gradually becoming fierce.

Robert seemed to be out of his body, responding absentmindedly: “Nothing, just the price of learning!”

Is learning really that costly?

Did you guys pull all-nighters?

Ten hours of sleep, six hours of waking, half an hour of nap, to maintain energy and improve efficiency.

Staying up all night is not advisable!

Dark wanted to share his experience with them.

But it seemed unlikely now.

“Ding-dong!”

The eight o’clock bell rang on time.

Professor Thompson entered the classroom right on schedule.

“Today is a theoretical class.”

Just one sentence dampened the students’ enthusiasm.

Though experimental classes were harder, first-year students clearly preferred the hands-on potion-making classes over the dry, boring theory classes.

But Wit and Robert looked excited!

“Lucky, isn’t it, Robert?”

“Yes, Wit. It seems our efforts have been rewarded by Lady Luck.”

“Today, I will definitely score five points higher than you in this Potions class!”

“Haha, you’re quite bold, Wit.”

Five minutes into the class.

Professor Thompson finally asked the first question: “How do you purify the process of making Spirit Nectar? I remember discussing this last week. Does anyone recall?”

Wit suddenly raised his hand!

But before Professor Thompson noticed, he quickly put it down again.

This up-and-down movement was truly nerve-wracking, like an elevator going out of control, plummeting straight down.

Wit wiped his sweat, feeling completely awake.

Robert anxiously asked: “What happened, Wit?”

Wit looked embarrassed: “Haha, how could I know about what we discussed last week? What about you, Robert?”

Robert looked blank: “If you don’t know, how could I?”

Thirty-sixth minute of the class.

Wit pinched Robert’s thigh hard.

“Aww—”

Robert jumped like a grasshopper but managed to cover his mouth in time.

Professor Thompson, writing on the blackboard, didn’t notice them.

Just now, Robert had already fallen asleep for the third time.

Sleeping during Professor Thompson’s class was no joke.

Professor Didi, who taught History of Magic, would at most deduct ten points—the entire class’s base score.

Professor Thompson could give negative scores!

Robert was drenched in sweat, feeling his eyes swell even more, his eyelids as heavy as iron.

Sixty-third minute of the class.

Professor Thompson finally reached the point they had previewed last night—how to use mana to assist in potion mixing.

Wit was particularly confident in his mana control.

When Professor Thompson poured a “Rainbow Liquid” mixed with multiple colors into a 5-liter beaker and then drew a mercury glass rod, he prepared to call a student from below to demonstrate how to mix the rainbow liquid into seven distinct layers using mana.

With eyes swollen like a toad, Wit immediately raised his hand!

“Hmm? Wit Gold, you come here.”
