The Villain Only Wants To Live a Buddhist Life

Chapter 38

Chapter 38: There’s Clearly Something Wrong with Saint Maryan’s Youthful Love Story

Wit Gold carefully pushed aside the fresco and crawled out from within the wall.

He had vaguely sensed someone trailing him from behind just now, but unexpectedly, as soon as he turned a corner, a pink Magic Card pointed directly at the wall.

The word “Mana” was condensed on the card.

He extended his left hand, pouring Mana into it, and the wall rippled like water.

With a bite of his lip, he squeezed in, entering a very secret secret passage.

On both sides of the secret passage, torches were placed every few meters apart.

When someone approached, the torches would ignite with flames, illuminating the passage.

The secret passage was winding and had many branches; sometimes it twisted like a snake, and other times it went up and down. As his senses became increasingly confused, Wit couldn’t tell whether he was going up or down.

Finally managing to get out, he saw the castle’s usual scenery before his eyes.

After walking a few more steps, he entered another secret passage.

After several rounds, Wit was thoroughly bewildered.

As the fog on the page gradually dissipated, the card became blurry. *Into the Abyss* returned to its silent state.

—Wit felt he had been tricked!

It took him a full half hour to finally escape from the maze-like castle and return to the common room of the Knight Academy.

Robert was still busy crafting a “Magical Beast.”

A classmate happened to be in a good mood and gave him some advice.

Perhaps because he understood the difficulty and value of accumulating credits, Robert was extremely cautious, taking each step slowly. The crafting process went relatively smoothly.

Now he had reached the most critical step—the drawing of the first Alchemy Circle!

Wit watched silently, not daring to disturb him.

But when drawing this Alchemy Circle that even Diana could draw successfully, Robert appeared unusually nervous!

In the end, his finger trembled, and the pen slipped, causing him to make a mistake!

“Mmm—”

“Don’t be nervous, Robert. You can continue!”

Wit hurried over to hold his hand!

Robert was sweating coldly, but with Wit’s help, he managed to finish the stroke and continue drawing.

Although the extra stroke stood out prominently, he eventually completed the entire first Alchemy Circle!

The Alchemy Circle lit up smoothly.

Robert trembled all over nervously, and after several attempts, he managed to pick up the fur of the Magical Beast and place it in the light.

As the fur was gradually engulfed by the golden light of the first Alchemy Circle, the light grew brighter.

Golden threads separated from the first Alchemy Circle, wrapping around the Mana Card layer by layer.

Finally, a golden cocoon formed!

Wit said, “One more step, Robert. Inject Mana, and think about what you like.”

Robert placed his hand on the golden cocoon and slowly injected Mana: “What I like? Is it Mana Chess?”

The Mana Card broke out of the cocoon.

Robert, somewhat excited, picked up this Mana Card that contained the efforts of two brothers over three days. The originally blurry transparent outline immediately began to change upon touching his gaze.

It was neither the Jack Russell Terrier guardian spirit of Ron in Harry Potter nor a small mouse like Ron’s pet Scabbers. It was the eternal, immobile castle in Mana Chess!

[Card Name: Magical Beast]

[Type: Elemental Card]

[Level: ?]

[Race: Elemental Species]

[Attribute: Ground Type]

[Mana: 300]

[Attack: 0]

[Defense: 300]

[Ultimate Skill: Solid Defense]

When Robert summoned his [Magical Beast: Castle], everyone was stunned.

The castle in Mana Chess was equivalent to the player’s life, occupying a fixed 3×3 grid with ten times the health of a single piece. It could consume one round to activate its inherent skill: Solid Defense, halving the damage received in the next round.

Once the castle was breached, the player declared defeat.

Robert’s [Magical Beast: Castle] was also a massive cube, 3 meters by 3 meters by 3 meters. Upon summoning, it gave a sense of being solid and unshakable!

“Wow! Robert, you can do it!” Wit punched Robert’s shoulder in surprise.

Robert’s neck turned red with excitement as he exclaimed, “Come here, my castle, let me take a good look at you!”

—The castle remained motionless.

After several attempts, Robert’s expression turned pale.

Someone suddenly said, “What’s so surprising, Robert? The castle in Mana Chess can’t move, isn’t that common knowledge? Hahaha, hahaha! Sorry, I couldn’t help it, hahaha!”

That night, Robert dreamed of transforming into a magnificent castle, only to be gradually destroyed by a group of large-toothed mice gnawing from the corners until he collapsed in despair!

And Wit also had a dream.

He dreamed of the library manager, the senior sister.

He dreamed of strolling with the senior sister among the blooming lilies in the back of the academy.

Thursday seemed to return to its normal rhythm.

Wit and Robert reverted to their usual selves, and the initial enthusiasm for learning waned. They were slightly more disciplined than before, avoiding Emma after class.

And Emma never thought of talking to them.

Dark continued to earn credits as usual, preparing for shopping in Traveler’s Street on the weekend.

By the way, there’s an additional 200 points for substitute teaching!

Dark always felt that his “vertical calculation method” was underappreciated and argued his case.

Professor Lily added another 150 points to compensate.

So earning credits was really quite simple.

After the afternoon’s History of Magic class, Dark went to the library as usual.

People grow, and he could now walk past Senior Pandora without changing his expression.

But after walking away, he suddenly looked back and saw Wit awkwardly chatting with the senior sister. This made him realize something, and he couldn’t help but smile slightly, remaining calm and composed.

Arithmetic class assigned new homework.

At this time, it was when Diana and Rose would come over.

Dark looked at the two little girls obediently sitting across from him at the desk, feeling somewhat helpless.

By five o’clock in the afternoon.

Diana finally finished her last assignment, leaning back with a sigh and expanding her chest, as if wanting to jump out of her thin school uniform.

After completing the task, Diana became restless. She sneakily pulled out a flower card depicting a black rose in ink style from her deck and slid it toward Dark.

“Hey, Dark, want to try this divination card? They say it’s very accurate!”

Dark looked up and casually replied, “Love divination?”

“You knew?” Diana looked like a kitten caught stealing fish treats, slowly pulling the “love divination card” back.

“I’m not deaf to everything outside.” Dark found it somewhat amusing.

He asked again, “Where did you get these flower cards?”

“Huh?” Diana thought for a moment, “One was given with candy, and this one was stuck in the door when I went out this morning.”

Dark frowned slightly, “Is someone spreading these flower cards? Can I borrow this card?”

Diana immediately replied happily, “Of course!”
