The Villain Only Wants To Live a Buddhist Life

Chapter 43

Chapter 43: Diana Never Fears Challenges

“Is that all?”

Diana watched as Dark slowly walked back, her eyes narrowing slightly. Something felt off.

Four matches were happening simultaneously, yet others had just begun, and he was already back?

(°?°?)?;

There was something Diana had been keeping to herself.

She had never believed in Dark’s chances. After all, Lil’Eevee didn’t seem like the kind of golem that could withstand attacks, unlike her great white bear.

But could duels really be won this way?

Without even a clash between golems, he managed to summon faster than his opponent, stepping on their life force before they could even summon!

The mercy shown at the end was probably due to Dark’s generosity.

After all, it was his first duel; if he couldn’t even summon a golem, it would become a lifelong shadow.

This match wasn’t just being watched by Diana.

Both Emma and Wit turned their attention to this when Dark stepped down.

No one expected the duel to end this way!

Emma carefully assessed her own summoning speed, her face pale.

Dark was too fast!

Just eight seconds for the spell casting time completely surpassed the standards of first-year students!

She thought her twelve seconds were enough, but now she realized it was far from adequate!

This wasn’t just about the strength of the golems; it was about overwhelming superiority in mana control!

On the other side…

Wit’s expression wasn’t much better.

He was determined to win this class competition.

But how could he lose just because he couldn’t summon a golem?

“What was my spell casting time again?”

Wit suddenly realized he hadn’t really calculated it at all!

“Next round, Number 1 and Number 13.”

Professor Jones directly grabbed the fifth set of tokens.

Robert exclaimed, “It’s your turn, Wit!”

Wit nodded, holding the token and heading to Platform ③, his steps heavy.

His opponent was an unfamiliar student from the Fool’s Academy.

The boy looked simple-minded.

But as they entered, the Fool’s Academy student suddenly lowered his voice, “Are you really the Hero’s Child?” Wit was taken aback, not understanding why he would ask such a question.

In the combat phase, both almost simultaneously started their summoning spells!

Wit summoned the buck deer at least two seconds earlier, but when the deer landed and accelerated, rushing into the opponent’s summoning zone, the opponent’s summoning spell also completed.

A black bull with a layer of rocky skin on its forehead suddenly appeared before the Mana Guidance Ball, blocking Wit’s buck deer!

However, the buck deer continued its charge, leveraging its acceleration to flip the bull over!

Wit maintained his advantage, eventually wearing down the thick-skinned water buffalo.

Next up…

Diana, Rose, Emma, and Robert all took the stage.

Diana won without a doubt, her 【Magical Beast: Polar Bear】 swatting away her opponent’s 【Magical Beast: Unicorn Rabbit】…

Rose played the role of a little white rabbit in another match…

Only Emma’s otter barely managed to win.

Emma originally wanted to rely on her twelve-second summoning speed to replicate Dark’s strategy.

But her opponent was an outstanding student from the Mana Academy, slightly slower but still completing the summon in less than fourteen seconds.

The golems clashed in the left half of the field.

Emma’s otter, a standard “Magical Beast” with 100 attack and defense, initially fell into a disadvantage in pure combat. Eventually, it found an opportunity to spray salty soda on the opponent’s golem’s face, turning the tide and winning!

As for Robert…

He was lucky to face a student from the Fool’s Academy.

Both spent more than sixteen seconds summoning their golems.

Robert directly summoned his 【Magical Beast: Castle】 above the Mana Guidance Ball, the hollow castle piece perfectly covering the small Mana Guidance Ball, forming an immovable fortress!

— This match dragged on until the end of the first round.

With the students bewildered, Professor Jones reluctantly announced the simultaneous advancement of both sides.

Thus, in the first round, 78 students advanced to 39, with a total of 40 students advancing.

The second round began immediately.

Dark was still the first to start.

His opponent was a student from the Noble Academy.

That student was boasting to his friends.

His magical beast was a small dragon-like dinosaur, showing overwhelming power in the previous duel!

Looking around, only Diana’s polar bear could match him.

So he had every right to boast.

Yet, life is unpredictable. Sometimes, no matter how strong you are, there will always be someone stronger.

Tudor entered the arena with a pale face.

As he approached Dark, he suddenly had an idea, smiling sheepishly, “Can I summon my magical beast before we fight?”

Dark’s expression remained indifferent, “What do you think?”

Tudor could only laugh dryly and walk towards certain defeat.

“Damn! Damn! Damn!”

The swiftly defeated Tudor rushed into the bathroom, pounding the sink hard.

“Damn it, it’s just a bit faster! What’s the point of being so arrogant?”

“It’s clear you studied summoning before coming to school!”

“Otherwise, how could a little fox like that win?”

“Don’t let me catch you!”

Cursing and crying, he emerged as a proud nobleman once more.

Tudor, with slightly red eyes, walked out of the bathroom, just in time to see his only rival in his mind—Diana dueling Robert from the Knight Academy!

The Tudor family was openly competing with the Gretbail family in the kingdom, but their relationship wasn’t as bad as it seemed.

They had met during a family visit long ago.

But the carefree Diana didn’t remember him, which disappointed him greatly.

And Robert, as the “sidekick” of the Hero’s Child, was merely a despised figure in his eyes.

Yet, Robert’s 【Magical Beast: Castle】 was indeed eye-catching, causing some caution.

“Tudor, you’re back?”

“Yeah, just went to the toilet.”

Tudor wore a flawless smile, asking his companions, “How is it? Our Kingdom’s Bear shouldn’t disappoint us, right?”

A chubby boy with crossed arms lifted his chin proudly, “See for yourself.”

Tudor turned to look.

“Roar!”

Diana’s polar bear roared suddenly, its fingers digging into the gaps between the castle and the ground, lifting the heavy castle with sheer strength!
