Chapter 803: Chaos Gold
Expandable materials were substances that could infinitely multiply and grow given enough energy.
Although chaos grass could do the same, it was still a plant after all.
But a Tier 13 raw material that could expand? They could only look at Maximus in shock.
Over the past millions of years, they knew Maximus had been collecting these expandable items like rare collectibles.
Although expandable materials didn't have much use due to their singular nature, they were still core components that could harness the full potential of his unlimited energy.
"There's even a Tier 13 expandable material? The chaotic void is indeed full of wonder."
"What's the cost to expand the material, Father? Is it plane origin?"
Since it was a Tier 13 material, they could only guess it could be expanded using plane origin.
"You guessed right. This material can indeed only be expanded by plane origin," Maximus sighed.
In every fortune, there is always a misfortune.
To expand the material in front of him, the Chaos Gold, Maximus would need a vast amount of plane origin.
Although he could generate plane origin more efficiently, there were also more and more things needed to use it.
"What are you pouting about, husband? Isn't it good that we have a stable supply of Tier 13 material?" Erica snorted, looking at Maximus with mild annoyance.
How could he still be dissatisfied with a steady supply of something so rare?
"Hey, I'm just sad that my plane origin is getting thinner and thinner."
In the past, he could play around with plane origin, using it however he liked.
Now, Maximus had to stretch a single unit of plane origin into two.
"What about its properties, Father? What about the cost and yield?" Liam asked curiously.
With Tier 13 material, they could do so many things—from reinforcing the Shadow Void Land, Void Outposts, Dark Plane Blasters, Tower of Knowledge, Etherium Realm, Dimensional Ships, and more!
The only concern was the cost and yield. If it were more expensive than it was worth, it would be a loss.
"This expandable material, Chaos Gold, has only one property: hardness, unbreakable hardness. As for the cost, one unit of plane origin yields about one cubic meter of material."
"Hardness? One cubic meter of material?"
Hearing that one cubic meter only costs one unit of plane origin, they couldn't help but nod in satisfaction.
It was more than enough for their needs.
As long as they only used it in key locations, the cost would stay manageable.
"How hard is it, Father? Have you tested how much power it can withstand?"
"Without any processing, it can withstand about 100 magnitudes of force on its own."
"So much?! It can handle 100 magnitudes of force just as it is? How much stronger would it become after processing?!"
An Overlord only had a few hundred magnitudes of force in their regular attacks.
With some processing, these materials could probably withstand several thousand magnitudes of force.
Furthermore, being expandable materials, they could stack them however they liked, eventually reaching tens or even hundreds of thousands of magnitude in defense.
"If it could reach a thousand magnitudes of defense after processing, I'd already be happy," Maximus said, shaking his head at their daydreaming.
How could processing a Tier 13 material be that simple?
Just engraving arrays into the material was already difficult, let alone fully processing it.
At this point, they could only use it as bricks or outer walls.
"It's enough, Father. We don't need much."
Even without processing, withstanding a hundred magnitudes of force was more than enough.
After all, most Tier 12 dark beasts didn't even have that level of attack.
As for Tier 13 dark beasts or Overlords, even a few thousand magnitudes of defense might not be enough if it came to a clash with them.
"Wait, husband! Isn't the Chaos Gold perfect for the micro-surveillance bots?!"
Using Chaos Gold as outer casing would solve the fragility issue of the micro-surveillance bots.
Although the chaotic void had a harsher environment, encasing the micro-surveillance bots in Chaos Gold and placing them around the periphery of the Aeon Plane should be possible.
"Hmm, it could be used for the micro-surveillance bots."
This was what excited Maximus most; the Chaos Gold was a perfect material for the micro-surveillance bots.
Since it could expand with just energy, he could create as many bots as he wanted!
From Chaos Grass to Chaos Gold, it seemed the True Path was giving him everything he needed.
Although it came with danger, Maximus was willing to take ten more risks for rewards like these.
"What about the other material? Even if you haven't thoroughly studied it, you must've discovered some of its properties."
"Yes. This material is super-conductive to plane origin. It can basically store it without any loss," Maximus explained in amazement.
Although he hadn't fully uncovered all of the properties of the other Tier 13 material, Maximus was willing to bet it had something to do with optimizing the Ether Device.
Since the True Path gave it to him alongside the other two, it was likely something he would need in the near future.
Just with its superconductivity alone, Maximus had already deduced its first application: a microchip.
If it could store plane origin without loss, it could naturally store other types of energy as well.
Using it as a microchip, maybe Maximus could even store a miniature Source of Knowledge, processing chaos energy while remaining connected to his physique.
The most important thing was, even if the material was only the size of a fist. Given the size of microchips, he could create millions just with the little material.
"It seems you already have an idea where to use it."
"Hahaha, of course!" Maximus laughed proudly, hearing the praise of his wives.
After a bit more discussion, they decided to return to the Shadow Void Land.
During these thousand years, they had remained in the Dark Void Domain to watch for the aftershocks of the disaster.
After all, who knew if the danger was truly over?
As they say, the real danger comes when you relax.
Having been stationed in the Dark Void Domain and seeing that everything had returned to calm, they decided to return.
