Chapter 18: The Girl in the Window

The weather in Silencia was… different.

Not too sunny, not too rainy.

Almost like even the sky had learned to stay quiet.

Noen felt his feet sinking slightly into the soil, but there was no life in that soil.

It felt like the entire land itself… had fallen silent.

He paused for a moment…

and looked up at the sky.

"Why is everything so quiet?"

A soft, restless tune hummed inside his heart.

---

It was evening.

Their musical caravan had stopped near a small alley — just for a while.

Mom, Dad, Lio — all resting.

Sera was sitting on a little bench with a book in her hand.

Noen picked up his guitar… but didn't play a single note.

His eyes though…

they drifted towards that window.

A small window.

Two wooden panels, slightly open.

And inside…

a girl.

---

A girl with long hair — a faint light gently touching her face.

She wasn't directly looking at Noen.

But between her lips…

a quiet melody was there.

No words.

No singing.

Just a hum.

So soft.

Like she was holding onto a memory from childhood.

Like… she was talking to herself.

Noen's heart was pulled towards that sound.

He didn't recognize the melody,

but the vibration…

he could feel it.

---

Suddenly, the girl's eyes met his.

She panicked.

The panels quickly slammed shut.

The window closed.

The sound disappeared.

As if nothing had ever happened.Noen gently placed his guitar by his side.

He didn't say a word.

Sera came and sat next to him,

"All good?"

Noen just gave a small smile.

And softly said,

"That melody… made me feel I'm not alone."

---

That night, when everyone was asleep,

Noen wrote a small line in his notepad:

"On the other side of a tiny window… someone is still humming."

He folded that page,

and kept it close to his heart.
