Chapter 333: One vs a hundred
There was no penalty for killing innocent NPC's in the game. Of course, you wouldn't get any points for killing one either so it was a waste to kill them.
Still, Alix didn't hesitate in her actions in-game. One of the soldiers was holding his hand out, asking for coins and identification in order for her to go through.
"I have none." she answered.
The soldier sneered and so did she. He lifted a hand to slap her and she moved even faster. With lightning speed, she sliced off his arm.
Blood, so warm and real fell on her face as the soldier stumbled around, crying out for help.
In his office, Caishen heard what sounded like the cry of a cat but also the howl of a wolf. He was not the only only one to hear it because even the others in the meeting did. Their eyes looked in the direction of the closed office door curiously.
"Ahem," Caishen cleared his throat.
All attention turned to him and he told them in a serious voice, "The list of supplies is extravagant. Let's cut the price down by half."
A loud explosion rocked the air and again, they looked at the door. They did not know what Alix was doing out there but it was making them curious.
The exciting continuous meowing of the cat did not make it any better and neither did the boss's cat scratching at the door, eager to get out.
Biming stood up and opened for Baby. He closed the door partially while looking sternly at the others who were trying to peek outside. They could all hear the sound of gun fire and noise. It almost sounded like Alix was watching a war movie out there.
"Hahahaaa," She laughed loudly, and villainously. They heard her say then loud and clear, "Die, die, die, yippee ka..."
"Close the door." Caishen ordered Biming loudly.
"Yes CEO." Biming closed the door completely with a thud.
"Ahem, Ahem." Caishen cleared his throat again. "Let's concentrate because i need to see changes to this budget by tomorrow. If you make any mistakes because your attention is on matters of no relevance to you then i will be sure to remand you."
While he was warning them, he was thinking about his wife and the game as well. He knew she was shooting targets but why was blowing stuff up as well. What had Majesty so excited that Baby was tempted to go out an have a look?
Why was Alix laughing like a character straight out of one of Bo's movies and using lines from die hard? It sounded like she was having so much fun out there.
I want to see as well, his inner thoughts cried out.
In the living room in the meantime, Alix had managed to attract more viewers unknowingly. The bodyguards who were idle and her brothers that were attracted by the explosion. Yuewei had gone back to his mother's place so it was just Wu Wei who was watching with devotion and Wu Gang who had a sketch book in hand. He was drawing the characters in the game, starting with Alix's.
On the screen, she was spinning like a tornado and throwing out explosives unceasingly.
She had many of them. It was why the system had demanded for that three hundred million. It had stocked up massively for this world. She had an arsenal of weapons that was enough to get her through to the final round of this level.
By the time she stopped spinning, the entire camp and half of the West side city wall had been destroyed. The air was covered in black smoke and the ground in blood red. Soldiers and citizens, everyone that was there was dead.
"Ninety nine kills." the system informed her. "Two feet up to the south." it shared. "Now dodge."
She didn't look to see that someone was shooting in her direction. She fell to the ground and rolled around.
"Activate invisibility shield." she said urgently.
She had no plans to die today, not even a single bullet was allowed to graze her.
The enemy couldn't see her when the invisibility shield was activated, but she could see him.
Bang!!
She crouched down and took one shot. It went straight between the forehead of the shooter. Two drones were flying above and she shot them down as well.
"Collect loot." she said.
Next to the bodies of the dead soldiers were little treasure chests. As soon as she said that, they disappeared and the bodies also vanished.
"System, how much time have i spent here?" she asked, in her mind.
"Sixteen minutes." It answered.
"That's too much time." she muttered.
She didn't waste any more of her precious time celebrating the massacre and immediately hoped into a space ship.
"To the center of the city, head to the major security base." she said.
This was a smart spaceship and it did not need her to operate manually once she turned it on. Barely twenty seconds into flying and drones started to pursue the space ship.
"Shoot everything down." she instructed.
Following the instructions of the system, she activated self defense mode and accelerated the speed of the space ship. She knew that it wouldn't take long for the ship to be damaged because the drones were multiplying and so were the soldiers on her tail.
At this rate, Alix figured that she would be the only target if she went in alone.
She went on to the gaming forum to see what was being said and who was active.
It was active and they were discussing different things.
Alix had killed many targets in one round before so her current killing spree did not surprise anyone. Other gamers had been actively imitating her move and taking out many targets at the same time.
Lately, the game had become competitive for this reason. No one was guaranteed the top spot anymore and it changed as often as every few minutes.
[Does anyone have invisibility shields to sell, i will pay really well.]
[I just saw somewhere that someone is killing everything including NPC's. Are we allowed to do that?]
[I am about to drop a massive explosion in the middle of the city. Anyone that wants free bad guys to shoot should head there and have fun.]
The alarms of the spaceship were going off rapidly and it was spinning as well. Obviously, she had taken a few critical hits.
Decisively, she activated the invisibility settings of her outfit and leaped out of the space ship unnoticed. While the soldiers were ganging up on it, she was on her way down and the explosives were falling down like pouring rain.
On her virtual screen, the blue elf had its eyes covered. She was a maniac, a lunatic and a crazy woman on a killing spree.
