Chapter 306: Contradiction
Xu Shuo reached the same floor but did not approach the meeting room where Yin Banqian was.
His behavior had two purposes, one was to let his teammates catch on to his intentions and prepare accordingly, and the other was to casually release his Mind Reading, taking in the situation of the entire building.
However, this time, Xu Shuo's Mind Reading seemed to encounter some issues.
It wasn't that it had become ineffective, but rather, the release of his ability suddenly became sluggish, like high-end software encountering a low-spec computer, unable to run smoothly.
In the past, scanning the entire Huai'an District was instantaneous, but now, just for this building, it took two seconds.
Xu Shuo thoughtfully examined the walls.
It wasn't an issue with him; it definitely had to do with Silverglow Tower.
Now in his field of view, the soldiers stationed throughout the entire building were packed densely, from the bottom floor up to the three-hundred-and-first floor, with at least thirty people on each level, holding unique submachine guns.
In the large meeting room on the three-hundred-and-first floor, Yin Banqian was still there, surrounded and pointed with guns.
However, judging by the atmosphere between them, it didn't seem to be at the point of drawn swords or ready crossbows; it appeared they were just simply restricting Yin Banqian's movements.
The recent barrage had hit mostly around the three-hundredth floor. Now the whole mechanical wall was out of order, and the interior was lit by the faint glow of devices.
Several fully equipped soldiers around were holding submachine guns, their expressions cold as they strictly confined the person in the middle.
After the attack, the council members and representatives from Deng Corporation were immediately moved to a safe place.
The dangerous individual was left behind.
Yin Banqian sat calmly in his original seat, arms folded. He had not chosen to leave forcibly, only because he didn't want the relationship between New An Bureau and the officials to become too rigid.
According to Pianning's original plan, they had wanted to borrow the officials' strength later in dealing with the Long Group's incident against Paradise Bird.
Nevertheless, the New An Bureau couldn't just be manipulated by others, so while he was willing to cooperate, he would not show weakness.
Glancing at the team list in the top right corner, Yin Banqian said indifferently, "Bring me my Micro-end."
The surrounding soldiers didn't move.
Yin Banqian snorted with a scoff, adding, "If you don't give it to me, my teammates might do something you can't control later on, and you should know that the New An Bureau didn't just send me."
Hearing this, the surrounding people glanced at each other.
Then a soldier with the rank of a commanding officer waved his hand, and someone left the meeting room to fetch the Micro-end that had been sent for a security check earlier.
But they hadn't been able to find anything on it.
Yin Banqian put the Micro-end back on, and without entering an encrypted chat room or making any secret actions, he casually opened a notepad under the watch of the surrounding soldiers and typed a message.
...
Others may not be able to see this undelivered message, but Wei Ya, who had tampered with their Micro-ends, could definitely see it.
Having received the message, Wei Ya immediately shared it in the chat room.
Tortoiseshell Cat: [Banqian is temporarily under control of the officials, but he's okay. Xu Shuo, don't act yet, wait for negotiations from both sides.]
Orange Cat: [I saw him release the signal.]
Xu Shuo was slightly puzzled.
The chat room fell silent for a while.
Tortoiseshell Cat: [Banqian said he didn't use his ability.]
Seeing this message, Xu Shuo, who was in the restroom stall next to the meeting room, was slightly taken aback.
He turned his head, his gaze seemingly penetrating the solid walls, to see the gathering clouds outside, strong winds howling, and the sky faintly swirling into a vortex, but yet to form a tornado.
Xu Shuo's eyes flickered.
The other side might not know this was their signal, but if his teammate used his ability unexpectedly, they would likely take action.
It was a trap.
Meant to intensify the conflict with the officials.
Orange Cat: [There's a possibility that Paradise Bird has somebody with a power similar to wind, and also, they know that Senior Yin came for the meeting with the officials.]

Siamese Cat: [Damn, do we have a traitor in our organization?!]
Angora Cat: [That's unlikely. Hold on, everyone. I'll finish negotiating with the officials. Don't act rashly while ensuring your own safety.]
Tortoiseshell Cat: [Anyway, you stay put for now, Banqian said he didn't call for you.]
Orange Cat: [Okay.]
Tortoiseshell Cat: [Cheng Can, what are you messing with?]
No sooner had Wei Ya finished speaking than Cheng Can's distance suddenly changed significantly!
Siamese Cat: [You might not believe it, but my house just got blown up, and I only saved a gaming helmet.]
Tortoiseshell Cat: [...]
Siamese Cat: [Damn it, the Inspection Team bombed my house!]
Tortoiseshell Cat: [That's too much of a coincidence, it's deliberately stirring up conflict between both sides.]
Cheng Can didn't reply again, probably busy trying to escape; his distance figures were continuously jumping quickly.
But this attack was too strange!
From the traces in Cheng Can's room, it seemed he had lived there for quite a while, which meant that the place was definitely secure, at least not so easily discoverable.
And every time they ended an operation, they'd return with Xu Shuo's one-click transfer, so the possibility of being tracked was next to none.
So how did the other side find out?
The core members of New An Bureau had Soul Imprints, memory searching was out of the question, so it had to be another way.
Maybe it was related to Yin Banqian's first mission.
Xu Shuo sat on the toilet lid, frowning in thought.
