This Danzo Is Weird!

Chapter 63: 63. Lord Danzo, Brilliant!

The ceasefire and reconciliation agreement was officially established.

Kiri's Terms:

1. Kirigakure must declare war on Sunagakure on behalf of the Land of Water and must eliminate at least 2,200 Suna shinobi in the conflict.

2. Kiri must compensate Konoha for the damages caused by the invasion, totaling 420 million ryo in silver or equivalent value in secret techniques, minerals, or other resources.

3. The Land of Water must open four unrestricted trade ports to the Land of Fire, allowing Fire Country merchants free entry and trade.

4. Both sides must sign a peace treaty, prohibiting war between them for the next ten years.

As for the fifth condition—where Yagura Karatachi had to surrender a significant amount of Tailed Beast chakra for Danzo's research—it was not written in the contract.

Otherwise, it would have been far too humiliating for the Fourth Mizukage.

Konoha's Terms:

1. Konoha must ensure the safety and basic human rights of prisoners and transfer them to Kiri in batches based on Kiri's progress in the war against Suna.

2. Konoha must return the six stolen swords of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.

3. After the war, Konoha must immediately release the hostages—Mei Terumi and Ao.

4. Both sides must sign a peace treaty, prohibiting war between them for the next ten years.

This was the outcome of Danzo's negotiations with Kirigakure.

All in all, Konoha had gained a lot from this war.

Not only could Konoha completely end the southern front, but it also secured massive war reparations while putting enormous military pressure on Suna.

And in fact, this last point was the most important.

If not for the threat of Suna, Danzo would have simply executed all Kiri prisoners outright.

He could have eliminated Mei Terumi, the future Mizukage, and even killed Yagura Karatachi, the current Mizukage!

That would have been a crippling blow to Kirigakure.

Losing their Mizukage and their legendary swords would leave Kiri in ruins, unable to recover for at least a decade or more—ensuring they would never pose a threat to Konoha again.

But doing so would mean Konoha had to face the remaining three great nations alone.

That was not something Danzo wanted.

Because after years of war, Konoha had already sacrificed too many shinobi.

Danzo didn't want unnecessary casualties.

By making a deal with Kiri, he could shift part of Konoha's losses onto them instead.

Yes, Kiri might have gained 1,200 prisoners, but their casualties in battle against Suna would likely exceed that number.

So why did Yagura agree to this deal?

Because he wanted to rescue Mei Terumi and Ao.

Because he wanted to recover the stolen ninja swords.

But most importantly—he wanted to gamble.

He wanted to turn things around against Suna.

If Kirigakure could defeat Suna and seize enough resources and land,

Then they could shift their own losses onto Suna instead!

It's the classic "better them than us" mentality.

Kiri would rather see Suna decline for decades than let themselves decline for ten years.

In other words, if this war goes well for Kiri, the biggest loser… will be Suna.

The one village that wasn't even present at the negotiations.

Kiri was simply trying not to lose too badly. Maybe even win a little.

But Konoha?

Konoha was the real winner.

Or rather, Konoha had already won—but Danzo wanted to win even more.

That's what you call a win-win!

When Danzo broke down this strategy for Minato and Fugaku, their faces immediately showed astonishment.

Although they were both impressed, Danzo could tell…

Their reactions were still slightly different.

Namikaze Minato fully understood Danzo's reasoning. He was enlightened and deeply impressed, slamming the table in admiration.

Uchiha Fugaku, on the other hand, didn't completely grasp the logic behind it. But he could tell it was something incredibly clever—he didn't understand it, but he knew it was impressive.

Danzo didn't blame Fugaku for this.

After all, this was just how the Uchiha were.

Simple minds, strong bodies—easily triggered into Awakening Mode, opening their eyes, unlocking higher forms, and then spamming "Muda! Muda! Muda!"

Of course, having a simple mind wasn't necessarily a bad thing for the Uchiha.

After all, in the original timeline, only four Uchihas ever showed a real passion for thinking—and look how that turned out:

1. Madara Uchiha—Got fooled by Black Zetsu, spent his whole life scheming, only to have his heart literally ripped out by an even bigger schemer. The ultimate tragic pawn.

2. Obito Uchiha—The "Hidden Tears of Kamui" champion, the poster child of switching sides. His only dream was to create a world where Rin was alive.

3. Shisui Uchiha—Got manipulated, died young, and spent his short life torn between clan loyalty and village duty.

4. Itachi Uchiha—The philosopher king of the Uchiha. Killed his father, mother, and entire clan for the village. Even Tobirama Senju would have saluted him.

In short—Uchiha using their fists is fine. Uchiha using their brains is terrifying.

Once they start overthinking, the Mangekyō Sharingan activation rate jumps to 100%.

That said, Danzo was quite satisfied with Fugaku's moderate stance.

At least he wasn't like the original Danzo, who spent every day plotting the destruction of the Uchiha.

As Danzo had said before—the fate of the Uchiha should be to die gloriously on the battlefield, not to perish in petty internal struggles.

His goal was not to exterminate the Uchiha, but to forge them into his sharpest sword—a weapon to conquer on behalf of Konoha.

Not a dead clan, but a tool for war.

And for that, moderates like Fugaku were easier to control.

After that, recruit Shisui, cultivate Itachi...

Combine them with Minato, Might Guy, Kakashi...

And throw in the Nine-Tails, plus Jiraiya, Tsunade, and the older generation...

Heh.

Danzo could barely imagine how ridiculously powerful Konoha's future would be.

A brief look of contempt flashed in his eyes.

With such an overpowered starting point, how did the original Danzo and Hiruzen Sarutobi nearly destroy the entire village?!

The correct path should be: End the war, train the next generation, amass power, and then steamroll the competition in one final push.

Every brutal decision was ultimately for peace.

"Now I understand," Minato said with genuine admiration. "Lord Danzo, your foresight is incredible."

If he were in Danzo's place, there was no way he could have defied the Hokage's orders to execute such a bold strategy.

Is this the composure and decisiveness of a veteran fox?

Minato looked at Danzo with newfound respect—not just curiosity, but genuine admiration.

Yes. Danzo had earned Minato's approval.

If Minato wanted to become a great Hokage, he realized he needed to learn from Danzo.

Meanwhile, Danzo hadn't bothered hiding his discussion from the two prisoners standing on the deck—Mei Terumi and Ao.

And Mei Terumi, for the first time, felt more than just hatred towards Danzo—she felt fear.

This man was terrifying.

Danzo's schemes had left an irreversible mark on her heart.

But Danzo didn't care if she overheard.

The contract was already signed.

Besides, this was a strategy in plain sight—even if Yagura Karatachi figured it out ahead of time, what could he do?

Kiri had already lost.

If they still wanted a chance to turn things around, they had no choice but to comply.
