Chapter 123: A Contradictory Race
Location: West City, Dragon Ball Corporation
"Woo woo woo…"
"That's great, Master Roshi, Lord Yuujin, you're finally back. ~"
"Yamcha and Tien…they…they're dead!"
In the company's conference room, Master Roshi was talking to Krillin. But upon hearing Krillin's message, Master Roshi's face went pale with shock:
"What…what did you say, Krillin?!"
"Master Roshi, i-it's like this…"
Through Krillin's stammering words, everyone gradually understood the situation.
After the martial arts tournament concluded, Tien and Yamcha's group had followed Yuujin's instructions and set off toward Korin Tower to seek training from Korin. However, along the way, they encountered chaos created by numerous evildoers and also heard news about Demon King Piccolo.
Initially, Tien and Yamcha had planned to contact Yuujin and Master Roshi, but they were already vacationing on a remote island and couldn't be reached.
Brimming with youthful energy, Tien, Yamcha, and their group became enraged upon witnessing the suffering of the people. Since they couldn't reach Yuujin or Master Roshi, they decided to take matters into their own hands and eliminate Demon King Piccolo.
Although Tien and Yamcha were strong, they were no match for Demon King Piccolo. Moreover, Demon King Piccolo had eaten the Esenji, making him more powerful than ever, far beyond what Tien and Yamcha could handle.
As a result, their attempt failed, with Yamcha and Tien killed on the spot, leaving only Krillin and Chiaotzu to escape in a state of utter distress.
"Foolishness! Utter foolishness!"
"Thinking they'd improved a bit and getting so full of themselves! Did they really think they could defeat Demon King Piccolo?!"
Master Roshi, who had a generally easygoing temperament despite his quirks, was now fuming with anger, yelling harshly over the phone while Krillin on the other end dared not utter another word.
Pacing back and forth, Master Roshi was both furious and heartbroken. Yamcha was a disciple he held in high regard, and now, due to overconfidence, he had lost his life to Demon King Piccolo.
Moreover, what baffled Master Roshi even more was the fact that Demon King Piccolo should have been sealed away by Master Mutaito's Evil Containment Wave, personally thrown into the depths of the ocean. He should never have been able to reappear.
But why…why had Demon King Piccolo returned?
"Master Roshi, please calm down."
Stepping forward, Yuujin picked up the phone to continue speaking with Krillin.
"Krillin, are Yamcha and Tien's bodies still with you?"
"Yes, yes, they are. Chiaotzu and I stored their bodies in a Capsule before escaping."
"As long as the bodies are intact, that's good."
"Rest assured. Now that we're back, we won't let Demon King Piccolo continue to endanger the world. And as for Yamcha and Tien, I'll use the Dragon Balls to revive them later."
"R-really? Lord Yuujin, Yamcha and Tien can be brought back?"
Hearing Yuujin's words, Krillin couldn't contain his excitement.
"Of course. Have I ever lied to you?"
"Alright, you and Chiaotzu should return to West City and regroup with Master Roshi. We'll discuss the rest afterward."
"Y-yes! We're heading back immediately!"
Ending his call with Krillin, Yuujin set down the phone.
Although Yamcha and Tien's fate was unexpected, everything was still under Yuujin's control. This incident would serve as a valuable lesson for Yamcha and Tien.
"Yuujin, Demon King Piccolo once nearly destroyed the world. This time, we can't let him succeed. We must eliminate him immediately!"
Now that he knew Yamcha and Tien could be revived, Master Roshi breathed a sigh of relief, then said gravely.
"Master Roshi, leave Demon King Piccolo to me."
"Right now, there are many criminals and thugs rampaging in the city, attacking innocent people. Master Roshi, you should stay here to clear out these violent groups."
Yuujin proposed, and Master Roshi nodded in agreement.
"With your current strength, even Demon King Piccolo shouldn't be a match for you."
"Go without worry; we'll handle things here."
Confident in Yuujin's abilities, Master Roshi had no objections.
Everything was proceeding as planned. Yuujin smiled slightly, then turned toward Bulma and the others nearby—
"Bulma and Tights please stay at the company and make sure all refugees are well accommodated. Don't worry about the expenses."
"Understood."
"Goku, Chi-Chi, you take all the Crimson Silk Girls with Master Roshi to clean up the violent groups outside. Don't let them continue destroying the city and hurting people."
"Yes, leave it to us!"
"Snake Princess, Mai, Hao Siqi, and Violet, come with me to eliminate Demon King Piccolo!"
"Yes, Master."
With swift and decisive actions, Yuujin quickly made arrangements, and Master Roshi nodded with satisfaction.
Even with his supreme status, wealth, authority, and strength, Yuujin hadn't forgotten his sense of justice as a martial artist. He was truly a disciple of the Turtle School.
Seeing Master Roshi's approving expression, Yuujin felt a bit guilty inside.
If Master Roshi knew that Yuujin himself had released Demon King Piccolo, and that the current chaos on Earth was all part of his grand plan, who knows how he'd react?
Well, it was something Yuujin intended to keep between himself and his women—best to never let Master Roshi find out.
Without further delay, Yuujin and his team set out immediately.
Bulma and Tights stayed at the company to care for the refugees, while Master Roshi, Grandpa Gohan, Ox-King, along with Goku and Chi-Chi, led the Crimson Silk Girls across the globe to subdue criminals and thugs. Meanwhile, Yuujin and his group, including Violet, headed straight to confront Demon King Piccolo.
Whoosh!
Encased in a blazing aura, Yuujin, along with Mai, Violet, Hao Siqi, and Snake Princess, flew rapidly through the sky, leaving a trail of turbulent energy behind.
As he gazed at the chaotic land and cities below, Yuujin couldn't help but feel a sense of irony.
In this catastrophe, surprisingly few cities had actually been destroyed by Demon King Piccolo or his demon clan. Most of the destruction came from humans themselves—burning, looting, and killing.
Humans, such contradictory creatures. They sing praises of justice and peace on one hand, yet are driven by madness and distortion on the other, a truly complex and contradictory race.
But it's fine; they only need someone to lead them—a guide to bring them to true love and peace.
A hero to vanquish the demon, a god to usher in light…
And he—
He would be that very leader.
