This Life, I Will Be the Protagonist

Chapter 737: 737: Divine Game – Final Score: "Blocks and Me"

Every part of the mech had been assembled by B8017913, a near-perfect recreation of the combat form used by the Mech race.

On its arms were cannon barrels and blade sabers built from Blocks, and the chest core was replaced with a cockpit housing Nivalis—who, per B8017913's instructions, kept herself glowing continuously.

Due to the mech's massive size, Rita's fiery light wings had also scaled up dramatically.

In her human form, she stood at 173cm with a wingspan of nearly four meters. Now, in mech form standing at nine meters tall, a single wing extended close to ten meters. Her full wingspan spanned over twenty meters.

On top of that, Rita shamelessly hung all five of her in-game rewards like medals across the mech's body, like she was showing off trophies.

Choosing the Mech race's combat form as her final Divine Game state wasn't about rewarding B8017913, or bonding with it.

It was purely strategic—Rita wanted a high final score in this Divine Game, and that meant her end-form needed to earn high marks.

"Your final rank will be based on your total Blocks and the aesthetic appeal of your final Blocks form."

But "aesthetic appeal" was such a vague concept.

The battlefield of this world had tens of thousands of species. While Rita thought many of the humanoid players she'd seen were good-looking—and even many of the beast and seafood-type players had their charm—those judgments were based on her own aesthetics.

Every race had its own standards for beauty.

Winter Sea's Frenzied Shark cared about hair.

Tingo Autumn Deer valued antlers.

Marmang Crab judged by the shell.

Oak Owls focused on feathers.

Moon Foxes prized their tails.

Even Seahorse had its own standards—it cared about snout length and belly markings.

So with so many definitions of "beauty," the scoring system for Block aesthetics was bound to be fuzzy.

But one thing was certain: the Mech race was designed by the gods. That meant it had to conform to divine aesthetics.

A race crafted so intricately—so much like a living being—wasn't going to be made to look ugly by its own creators.

Rita had combed through the highest-tier Month Theme Parks and hadn't seen anyone with more Blocks than her.

For players without a gacha machine to store extra Blocks, carrying too many just made them a walking target.

Before public zones were unlocked, even disguises didn't help.

Maybe lower-tier Month Theme Parks had some exceptions—after all, higher-attribute players tended to have larger Blocks, meaning they carried fewer in total.

Still, more than half of Rita's Blocks came from October and July events, and she had no intention of switching to smaller ones just to boost her count.

Divine Game rankings mattered, but so did her stats.

And to be fair, she had already made some sacrifices for this ranking—every game item she got later on, she sold off instead of keeping.

If she hadn't done that, she could've crafted more gear using [Universal Fragments].

Now, all she had to do was boost her aesthetic score, and her final result would be solid.

At the stroke of midnight, Rita heard the system voice announcing her score and rank.

At that moment, the BS System Announcement kicked in.

It was the first time she'd ever heard such raw emotion in a BS broadcast.

Rita: ...Okay, this is way too much.

This isn't a system broadcast—it sounds like someone's writing my fan blog!

Nivalis & B8017913:

"What do you mean 'Thanks to BSNivalis and B8017913 for their companionship'?!"

Why did that sound so off?

Seriously, what kind of VIP tier do you have to be to get that line?

[Player's four primary stats +5%]

[Human life expectancy increased by 100 years]

Before Rita could fully process the notifications or even check her new stats, two gacha capsules burst open from the machine strapped to her back.

Click.

Click.

Two relics emerged simultaneously—one was a platinum ship's wheel, the other a vintage lantern.

The wheel floated behind Rita's head, gently spinning. The lantern hovered beside her arm, swaying slightly as if someone were carrying it through the night.

The two Divine Relics circled Rita occasionally, shifting their positions as if drawn to her presence.

Now free from her Blocks form, Rita finally saw the true appearance of [Cat's Ideal] for the first time.
