Chapter 16 Poison Formula, Battle List One
January 14th.
Li Fei, as usual, went to Mo Yizhou's classroom early in the morning.
"Teacher Mo."
Li Fei walked into the classroom and greeted Mo Yizhou.
"Come and take a look!"
Mo Yizhou, seeing Li Fei arrive, urgently beckoned to him.
When Li Fei approached, he pointed to several thick books on the desk:
"I've marked down all these prescriptions in the way you described."
Li Fei looked at the thick books on the table and asked in surprise,
"How many prescriptions are there?"
"Over two hundred in total, half of which I've researched myself, the other half I've collected,"
Mo Yizhou said somewhat proudly.
"Teacher Mo truly deserves to be called a master!"
Li Fei said to Mo Yizhou with sincere admiration.
All the books contained formulas for poisons, over two hundred in total.
People like the leader of the 'Wolf Pack' spent more than a decade researching poisons and only managed to develop the Nether Spring Poison, while Mo Yizhou had researched hundreds of different poisons by himself!
This indeed merited the title of a master.
"Haha."
A smile appeared on Mo Yizhou's face, followed by a sigh:
"It's a pity that poisonology is ultimately considered a minor path and isn't recognized by the world."
"It's just the world's prejudice," Li Fei said calmly.
"Here, take a look, could we perhaps summarize that 'Poison Formula' you mentioned?"
Mo Yizhou pointed to the books on the table and asked.
"Alright."
Li Fei picked up a book and began to flip through it.
In his previous life, he hadn't studied Chinese medicine and didn't understand pharmacology, but he was a science student with good grades.
In the time he had been studying poisonology with Mo Yizhou, he found that pharmacology in this world was not configured according to the roles of 'monarch, minister, assistant, and courier', but was somewhat similar to chemistry in his previous world.
This gave Li Fei the idea to summarize a set of 'chemical formulas', which is the 'Poison Formula' he had mentioned to Mo Yizhou.
"Let's start by looking for a catalyst."
Li Fei said to Mo Yizhou.
"What is... a catalyst?"
Mo Yizhou looked puzzled.
"It's something that can speed up a chemical reaction."
"Chemical reaction?"
"Teacher Mo, you see, for example, when Bitter Yellow Grass is combined with Mogana leaves, it produces toxicity, but the onset of this toxicity is very slow, so slow that ordinary people who accidentally ingest these two things won't be greatly affected. However, if you add Yin Stone Powder to these two herbs, the toxicity will take effect immediately! So this Yin Stone Powder might be a catalyst."
Li Fei pointed to a prescription in the book as an example for Mo Yizhou.
Mo Yizhou thoughtfully said, "You want to find something like Yin Stone Powder to see if it can catalyze other drugs?"
"Exactly," Li Fei nodded.
He had previously asked Mo Yizhou to mark the components and properties of various drugs on these prescriptions, which made it easier for him to find patterns and discover the 'Elemental' nature of this world.
The two then started researching the prescriptions recorded in the books together, with Li Fei providing ideas and Mo Yizhou using his extensive experience to refine Li Fei's concepts.
One was responsible for theory, the other for practice.
As time passed, after more than three hours, the two had preliminarily summarized several dozen drug 'Elementals,' and they had drawn up several usable 'Poison Formulas.'
As a master of poisonology, Mo Yizhou would of course also summarize drug properties and pharmacology. These newly summarized Poison Formulas seemed similar to the pharmacology he had worked out before, but he was well aware that there was a fundamental difference between the two!
The 'Poison Formula' Li Fei proposed summarized the properties of drugs from the most minute perspective and restored the essence of the drugs. If one were to use the Taoist terms, it would be akin to finding that 'one' which could lead to understanding everything else!
"This method of yours really works!"
Mo Yizhou's face flushed with excitement, "If we continue down this path, the study of poisonology, no! Not just poisonology, but pharmacology as a whole will undergo earth-shattering changes! You have discovered an untrodden grand avenue!"
Li Fei could understand Mo Yizhou's excitement, but he himself was not interested in becoming this world's 'Mendeleyev.' (Note 1)
The reason he shared his ideas with Mo Yizhou was solely to better learn poisonology and formulate the poisons he wanted.
"If this path truly succeeds, Teacher, you would be the most significant contributor. I have only provided some ideas."
Li Fei said.
Without Mo Yizhou's extensive experience and the many prescriptions he had summarized, Li Fei's theories and ideas would always remain castles in the air.
"No, the most important thing is your ideas. Without you, despite my decades of painstaking pharmacological research, I would never have thought of these things."
Mo Yizhou shook his head, "If I were to write a book in the future, your name must appear as the first author!"
Li Fei laughed, "Let's talk about the future in the future. The content we've summarized so far isn't enough to write a book yet."
"Right, it's not enough, we must continue!"
Mo Yizhou said, ready to dive back into research.
"Teacher Mo, let's stop here for today, I have other matters to attend to."
Li Fei couldn't afford to spend all day on this.
"Okay, go ahead, and remember to come on time tomorrow."
Mo Yizhou waved to Li Fei, then dove back into his research.
Li Fei turned and left the classroom, heading to the cafeteria for lunch.
At two o'clock in the afternoon, he arrived at a training field on time, ready for Wen Ke's "Exploration of Geng Metal's Heart Realm."
