Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Beginner's Gift Pack

After the old man left, Naruto began to clean up the garbage.

A mountain ablaze, the warden's in love with me.

Cough, cough, no, arson in the mountains, prison time for life.

For safety reasons, Naruto extinguished the bonfire with water.

Then, without resting, he returned to his hideout and immediately began to refine chakra.

As long as he refined chakra, he could complete the task.

Completing the task would unlock the game.

This game was his cheat.

He, Uzumaki Naruto, a three-year-old orphan hated by the entire village, this cheat was his only hope for survival.

He had no time to rest.

Sitting on a bed made of straw and bedding, Naruto attempted to refine chakra for the first time.

According to the old man earlier, chakra was a type of energy within the human body, a mixture of physical energy and spiritual energy.

If his understanding wasn't mistaken, physical energy referred to the energy produced by bodily cells. Did it specifically mean physical strength?

And spiritual energy? Mental power? Willpower? Or something else?

That old man was too vague.

And he had eaten four of his grilled fish and a large bowl of mushroom soup.

However, considering his contribution, Naruto wouldn't hold a grudge.

Now, Naruto had to figure it out himself.

This chakra refining technique, to sum it up, was both simple and not so simple.

Through meditation, one could perceive the flow of cellular energy and spiritual energy within the body, mixing and converting the two energies in proportion to form chakra and store it within the circulatory system.

Naruto followed the steps, emptying his mind, and began to meditate.

Gradually, he felt something.

'Could I be a genius?'

This thought flashed through Naruto's mind.

The next moment, the feeling grew stronger. A warm current surged within his body, and this sensation became increasingly pronounced, slowly flowing downwards.

Then… a sudden urge to pee.

It left Naruto speechless.

So, this warm current was that darn thing.

He had gotten excited for nothing, thinking he had made progress in his cultivation and was close to success.

He ran a good distance away, took a leak, and felt significantly relieved.

He hadn't succeeded in extracting it, but he wasn't anxious either.

No one achieved immortality or cultivated spiritual energy/mana on their very first day.

This chakra probably wasn't simple either.

He had already prepared himself for a long struggle.

Naruto yawned and returned to his hideout.

Working all afternoon had exhausted his small body. After all, he was only three years old; although this body felt unusually energetic, he was still very young.

So, Naruto prepared to sleep.

Just before falling asleep, he suddenly opened his eyes.

He had been so busy that he had forgotten something.

The shop owner who pushed him during the day hadn't been retaliated against yet.

Naruto held grudges.

His principle was never to bottle things up; if he had a grudge, he'd settle it on the spot!

So, he planned to go to the front of that shop from earlier and throw feces.

After thinking about it carefully, Naruto decided against it. The target was too obvious. If he had a conflict during the day and someone threw feces at them at night, it would be as clear as a monk's head lice—it would be obvious.

It was simply unsafe; he decided to go only after he had the ability to protect himself.

With that thought, Naruto got up again.

His life safety wasn't guaranteed yet.

At this age, he really couldn't sleep.

Keep cultivating!

The next day, Naruto woke up early.

He didn't know when he had fallen asleep yesterday, but by then, he was completely unconscious.

The reason he could get up so early was entirely due to an internal sense of urgency compelling him.

In a trance, Naruto felt as if he was back in his third year of high school.

Those last 100 days.

He really had a nightmare.

"Damn it, I've transmigrated, and I still have to experience my senior year of high school." Complaining, Naruto began to wash up, eat, and continue cultivating.

On the second day, he finally felt something, and this time it wasn't about pee or poop.

There was progress, but no success.

On the third day, was it finally done?

Naruto had no concept of chakra, so he didn't even know if he had succeeded until he received the task completion notification.

[Initial task completed, reward issued, please check in inventory]

[System loading...]

"I'm truly a genius." Praising himself, Naruto happily opened the panel.

The entire game interface hadn't fully loaded yet, still showing 'loading'.

Naruto wondered if, due to his transmigration, this system couldn't connect to the server?

However, even though online services couldn't load at the moment, local services were still running normally.

Naruto opened his inventory and saw a clearly MMORPG-style gift pack lying within.

He clicked to open it, and an interface popped up.

[You have opened the Beginner's Gift Pack, drawing from the prize pool...]

Then it just kept showing "drawing from prize pool."

Naruto stared at this page for half an hour; the page hadn't changed, still displaying "drawing from prize pool."

This thing seemed to be like the main system earlier, unable to connect to the server, causing it to not load.

"This trash game."

Seeing this, Naruto gnashed his teeth in frustration.

He had thought that once his cheat arrived, it would be the day he could go on a rampage.

But this was it?

"Forget it." Naruto went about his business.

When he went out for a stroll and came back with three fish, the interface still showed no movement.

It wasn't until the afternoon, at sunset, just after returning to his shelter in the tree hollow.

[Prize pool draw failed, drawing reward from initialization prize pool.]

SSSSSSS-tier Talent (Unique) Infinite Chakra (Limited) Summoning Beast · Nine-Tails · Fully Awakened Version (Limited)]

"Unique, Limited, Limited. Is the drop rate for this game that high?" Seeing these three options, Naruto was somewhat incredulous.

Although Naruto didn't play many games in his previous life, he had heard about drop rates.

His roommate in his previous life, who loved playing games, was a "non-chief" (unlucky player) whose skin was frighteningly dark. The gacha drop rates in various games were terribly low for him; he rarely got gold-tier items and always had to rely on minimum payouts, never truly hitting a jackpot.

His roommate had spent who knows how much money, and later, he resigned himself to his fate.

In the end, it was usually Naruto who stood in for him.

But Naruto remembered that his own luck was just average; when he pulled gacha for his roommate, the drop rates were always normal.

So, this was...?

A bug?

Recalling the previous notification, Naruto thought it was quite possible.

This was probably a blessing in disguise.

However, staring at these three options, Naruto was unsure how to choose for a moment.

It seemed that this game already assumed he understood this world very, very well, but he really wasn't familiar with it at all.

How exactly should he choose?

Naruto could only try to make his decision using his experience from his previous life.

In terms of rarity, one unique and two limited options—logically, he should choose the unique one.

In terms of function, option A, SSSSSSS-tier Talent (Unique), was a growth-oriented option, but he currently faced a survival crisis and needed immediate combat power.

Option B, Infinite Chakra (Limited), was equivalent to infinite mana?

Option C, Summoning Beast · Nine-Tails · Fully Awakened Version (Limited), seemed to be a battle pet?

After much deliberation, Naruto made his decision.
