This Sword Cultivator is Somewhat Dependable

Chapter 14 Qingqiu (Part 2)

This was an extraordinarily enormous mountain peak, covered entirely by numerous strange plants.

These plants were a fiery red, resembling maple leaves that spread out in abundance, casting a splendid sight. Seen from a distance, the mountain peak looked like a fireball. Find exclusive stories on My Virtual Library Empire

Occasionally, red leaves would fall from the trees, like flickering candle flames slowly drifting down from the sky.

If at this moment a gentle breeze happened to pass by, these fluttering candle flames would appear to set the entire mountain ablaze, creating an incomparably beautiful sight.

It was clearly nighttime, but due to these plants, the whole mountain seemed to have countless lanterns lit up, dazzling and extraordinary.

In the heart of this mountain ran a small stream, twinkling with faint spiritual light, cutting through the mountain range. The water trickled slowly and made a tinkling sound as it flowed.

Within the stream, numerous rocks were scattered haphazardly, and on top of one large flat rock lay a naked man, handsome in appearance and unconscious.

His body was covered in countless cuts and gashes, his flesh torn open, looking extremely fierce. The man's complexion was even paler than gold paper, his lips cracked and dry, clearly in very bad shape.

The stream soaked his entire body and continuously flowed over him.

Strangely, it seemed that the water of the stream contained some miraculous power, for as it flowed over the man, the faint spiritual light would gather toward the fierce wounds on his body.

Under the effect of the spiritual light, his injuries began to heal rapidly.

As the sun gradually rose, by morning the unconscious man finally woke up.

Lu Qingshan slowly opened his eyes. Initially, the "candle flames" falling from the sky made him think he was in the midst of a sea of fire.

Once he had clarified that these were just fiery red leaves, he let out a small sigh of relief.

The warm stream flowing over him felt somewhat itchy.

"Where am I?" Lu Qingshan wondered.

In the spatial rifts, a hair's difference could lead to being thousands of miles off course. Although he managed to escape the spatial rift in just a few breaths' time, where he ended up was truly uncertain.

He hurriedly stood up and looked around, only to find himself in the middle of a stream.

On a piece of broken stone nearby lay a small rat demon, the West Mouse King, who seemed to have not yet awakened.

In the stream grew countless plants with pink petals and blue buds shining brilliantly.

Fire-red leaves floated on the surface of the water, drifting far away with the flow of the stream.

On the bank stood a woman—it was Qin Yitian.

When Qin Yitian saw Lu Qingshan get up, a trace of joy appeared on her face, "Young Master, you've finally awakened."

Lu Qingshan smiled, just about to respond, when he suddenly remembered something. He frantically checked his body in astonishment.

The scars that covered him had all disappeared, his skin smooth and lustrous as jade, which was inconceivable.

"What happened here?" Lu Qingshan exclaimed, asking hurriedly.

"The surging waters wash away the dust, the flowing water clears the heart," a voice that was elderly yet ethereal suddenly sounded.

Lu Qingshan's hair stood on end, and he looked in the direction of the voice.

A peach tree.

An astonishingly large peach tree, with thick branches and intertwined roots, rose to a staggering height, reaching up to the sky, where it disappeared into the clouds.

The tree was covered with brilliant crimson blossoms, obscuring the sky.

Lu Qingshan had never seen a peach tree so large.

But what was even more strange was that on the sturdy branches of the peach tree, a human face gradually emerged.

The face wore a kind smile, and the mouth moved slightly. The voice that just spoke seemed to have come from this peach tree.

A Great Demon!

Lu Qingshan felt a chill rise in his heart.

Plants, unlike beasts, do not have a consciousness of their own; they absorb the Spiritual Energy of Heaven and Earth purely by instinct. Consequently, for plants to transform into demons, the difficulty is vastly greater compared to beasts—it's like one is in the heavens, and the other is underground.

Plants are naturally devoid of self-awareness, yet the peach tree before him could speak and even bore a human face. There was only one possibility: it was a Great Demon that had successfully cultivated.

Lu Qingshan immediately became alert, but just then, he remembered something and gradually came to his senses.

"Was it Senior who saved me?" Lu Qingshan asked Qin Yitian, meanwhile stepping out of the creek and taking a set of clothing from the Storage Ring to put on.

Qin Yitian nodded lightly, "When you escaped from the spatial rift and fell into the stream, your life hanging by a thread, it was the Senior who saved you."

"May I know how Senior is addressed?" Lu Qingshan inquired.

"Qingqiu Mountain Master." The peach tree replied.

Qingqiu Mountain Master?

Lu Qingshan pondered; then, this mountain range should presumably be called Qingqiu.

"Thank you, Mountain Lord, for saving my life." Lu Qingshan gave a deep bow to the peach tree.

"There's no need to be polite. I only saved you because I sensed a familiar aura upon you and knew you were a person of goodness," said the Qingqiu Mountain Master steadily. "It didn't take much effort, just a helping hand."

A familiar aura?

Lu Qingshan grew tense inside, then suddenly realized what the Qingqiu Mountain Master was referring to—it must be the aura given to him by the Spirit Beast Longevity Whale back then.

"No matter the reason, I will forever remember the life-saving grace of the Mountain Lord," Lu Qingshan said solemnly with a cupped fist salute.

The Qingqiu Mountain Master smiled unconcernedly and said no more.

"Mountain Lord, where is this place?" Lu Qingshan asked his most pressing question.

"This mountain range is named Qingqiu, as for where it is," the Qingqiu Mountain Master paused before saying, "according to your Human Race, it seems to be called, the Wilderness of Fall?"

Lu Qingshan felt joy in his heart.

He hadn't strayed far, still within the Wilderness of Fall.

A stroke of fortune amidst misfortune!

Whoosh whoosh whoosh---

Suddenly, a series of strange and faint sounds arose, startling Lu Qingshan.

Small mounds appeared within the fiery red leaves on the ground, as if something was rapidly wriggling beneath them.

Finally, when it drew near, an extremely shiny silvery-white shadow darted out from the foliage, leaping and bounding into the air.

It was a peculiar little beast with a silvery-white body, resembling a small deer with two golden antlers, its whole body shimmering with a milky white radiance like a flawless snowball.

Its large, gem-like eyes shined brightly, the pupils sparkling with a golden light, emanating an indescribable Spiritual Nature.

The small deer sprang out from the pile of leaves with joy, but midway through its leap, it caught sight of Lu Qingshan and Qin Yitian standing before the peach tree and panicked, frantically kicking its short legs in the air.

In a highly unscientific manner, it turned around in mid-air, going in the direction from which it had leaped, and landed back where it came from, curling up in the leaves to hide its small form.

However, the little deer failed to notice that its handsome antlers had already poked out from the leaves, conspicuously visible.

The little deer's bright, big eyes peered through the gaps in the leaves with human-like wariness, cautiously scrutinizing Lu Qingshan, like a child afraid of strangers.

"Yi yi ya ya!" Hiding among the leaves, the deer called out to the Qingqiu Mountain Master, as if lodging a complaint.

"Yaoyao, come out, don't be afraid, they are good people, they won't harm you," the Qingqiu Mountain Master soothed.

Under the persuasion of the Qingqiu Mountain Master, the deer named Yaoyao mustered up the courage to crawl out from the leaves, bounding beside the peach tree, its large eyes studying Lu Qingshan and Qin Yitian, full of curiosity.
