Chapter 16: 3000 Great Mountains
```
"Eee-yaah!" the little deer made a seemingly ferocious but actually timid cry towards the Qingqiu Mountain Master.
"You'll stay by my side during this time, and don't even think about running off to find Mimi," the Qingqiu Mountain Master said sternly, "lest you get into trouble yourself before you even find Mimi!"
The little deer fell silent, but the mist in its large eyes grew heavier.
"Mountain Lord, what has happened?" Lu Qingshan, witnessing this scene, had a vague understanding of the situation, "Perhaps I could be of some help?"
Interrupted by Lu Qingshan, the Qingqiu Mountain Master paused, sizing him up for a moment as if awakened by Lu Qingshan's words.
Could it indeed be a solution to the current predicament?
The Qingqiu Mountain Master thought for a while and decided not to hide anything, pointing at the young deer Yaoyao, she asked Lu Qingshan, "Do you know about Yaoyao's origins?"
Lu Qingshan shook his head.
There were too many demon beasts in the Nine Heavens, and how could he possibly recognize all of them?
"Yaoyao has ancient spirit beast bloodline, known as Chenghuang; she also has a little brother named Mimi," the Qingqiu Mountain Master explained.
Lu Qingshan was taken aback; although he had found the little deer to be extraordinary, he hadn't expected that Yaoyao was not a demon beast but an ancient spirit beast of noble lineage.
The Qingqiu Mountain Master's voice revealed a touch of sorrow and she began to recount, "A few years ago, their mother, wounded all over, barged into Qingqiu while pregnant with them.
Her injuries were so severe that even I could not save her; by all logic, with such grave wounds, she should have died en route.
Yet somehow, she mustered the strength to cling to her last breath and made it all the way to Qingqiu, where, at my feet, she gave birth to Yaoyao and Mimi."
"After giving birth to Yaoyao and Mimi, she was hanging by a thread, unable to tell me in detail what had happened, only imploring me to take good care of Yaoyao and Mimi for her."
Lu Qingshan remained silent.
The strength that sustained Yaoyao's mother so long, the Qingqiu Mountain Master may not understand, but humans could empathize all too easily.
Because its name is motherhood.
No wonder a Great Demon of vegetation would form such a close bond with a little deer—it was all because of such a story.
Most Great Demons of vegetation were characteristically steadfast and virtuous; for Yaoyao's mother to encounter the Qingqiu Mountain Master in her direst moment was indeed fortunate.
"Chenghuang wields the Thunder Force and the power of Life-Healing; being young, each sibling has only temporarily awakened part of Chenghuang's abilities.
Yaoyao has awakened the Thunder Force of Chenghuang, while Mimi has awakened Chenghuang's Life-Healing powers," the Qingqiu Mountain Master sighed, continuing, "These are formidable powers, but since they are still young, they cannot exert much force.
However, with such a noble bloodline, as they grow older, they will become stronger and stronger.
"And with me to protect them, it's enough for them to grow up; within Qingqiu, I am an invincible being," the Qingqiu Mountain Master stated confidently.
"But, unfortunately, Mimi is incredibly impulsive, always loving to run around and explore everywhere.
Moreover, since he hasn't awakened any offensive or self-protective abilities, I've repeatedly stressed to him that he can roam but never leave Qingqiu and asked Yaoyao to keep a close watch on him." The Qingqiu Mountain Master felt a headache talking about Mimi.
After a sigh, the Qingqiu Mountain Master added, "As long as they are within Qingqiu, I can intervene at a moment's notice should any danger occur."
"Who would have thought this little rascal could be so disobedient, sneaking out of Qingqiu while Yaoyao was in deep slumber due to her bloodline awakening.
It's also my fault; my true form comes from vegetation, with a very long life span; I've always lacked a strong sense of time, and before I know it, decades can pass, which is why I failed to notice Mimi's antics."
```
"It wasn't until Yaoyao woke up yesterday that we discovered Mimi had disappeared, but it's been too long, even to the point that we don't know how long Mimi has been gone."
After all, this was the Qingqiu Mountain Master's first time taking care of a child, so some negligence was indeed inevitable.
Lu Qingshan thought to himself this way.
"Likewise, as you can see, because my original form is this peach tree, a plant spirit that has gained sentience.
My roots have long been deeply embedded in Qingqiu, integrated with Qingqiu Mountain, so I cannot leave Qingqiu," explained the Qingqiu Mountain Master.
After a pause, the Qingqiu Mountain Master expressed his worries, "I can't leave Qingqiu, and although Yaoyao wants to go look for Mimi by herself, with its limited capabilities, how could I possibly rest assured to let it leave Qingqiu."
"The outside world is extremely dangerous."
Lu Qingshan nodded, understanding clearly in his heart.
Upon noticing the rich vegetation here and learning that he was still in the Wilderness area, Lu Qingshan had already deduced where he was.
The Three Thousand Great Mountains.
Liu Yu had once told him that the Wilderness was mainly divided into two regions, one being the barren lands where the creatures of the Void dwelt.
The other was known as the Three Thousand Great Mountains.

The Three Thousand Great Mountains, also referred to as the paradise for Demon Beasts.
"Three Thousand" is merely a figure of speech; the actual number of mountain ranges is unknown.
The environment within the Three Thousand Great Mountains is extremely treacherous, not only rampant with Demon Beasts but also riddled with many traps of Miasma Qi.
Not to mention ordinary people, even Cultivators might perish here; the level of danger speaks for itself, hence no one has ever been able to fully explore it.
Moreover, a long time ago, before the Wilderness had suffered great calamity, there used to be a thriving branch of the Human Race here.
They practiced a unique style of Cultivation, forming a distinctive school known as Witch Cultivation.
Their main focus was on Body Cultivation, but they also possessed peculiar methods involving Poison Art and Poisonous Insects.
To most Cultivators, Poison Art was considered a lesser skill not fit for serious consideration, but that didn't mean Poison Art wasn't powerful; it merely indicated that those who practiced Poison Art had not researched potent enough poisons.
The Poison Art of Witch Cultivation was unpredictable and virulent, so much so that even Nascent Soul Cultivators couldn't ignore it.
As a result, compared with other Cultivators, Witch Cultivators were not only strong but even surpassed them in some aspects, thus enjoying a period of great prominence.
However, what exactly happened in the Wilderness afterward, what secrets were involved that led to the disappearance of Witch Cultivation into the sands of history, remains a mystery.
But according to some Cultivators who had ventured deep into the Three Thousand Great Mountains, the lineage of Witch Cultivation had not been completely exterminated; deep within the mountains, there were still tribal gatherings of Witch Cultivators, and they had personally seen Witch Cultivation villages.
Of course, regarding such news, most dismissed it with contempt—how could it be possible for Human Race tribes to survive in such a perilous place.
After running the information on the Three Thousand Great Mountains and Witch Cultivation through his mind, Lu Qingshan's face showed no sign of hesitation.
Although this place was rumored to be extremely dangerous, with his current level of Cultivation, it shouldn't be to the point where he could not make any progress.
Furthermore, if he wanted to leave this place, he would inevitably have to traverse the Three Thousand Great Mountains.
Most importantly, he bore the life-saving grace of the Qingqiu Mountain Master; if he did not repay it, he would not find peace of mind.
