Chapter 18 Wuxiu Village Fall
Lu Qingshan expressed some surprise and hurriedly asked, "Do you have a way to find Mimi?"
"No," Qin Yitian shook his head.
"Then what is this..." Lu Qingshan was confused.
What does this confident look mean?
"Isn't it because you are here? I believe there's no difficulty that the young master can't solve," Qin Yitian said as a matter of course.
"...You really are my sword," Lu Qingshan said with emotion.
"Hehe," Qin Yitian chuckled lightly, then once again turned into a red light and merged into the Dragon Sparrow Sword, "Remember, young master, I am nothing but a sword."
Lu Qingshan: "....."
"If we don't have any other information, then we can only rely on luck," Lu Qingshan muttered.
After pondering for a moment, he suddenly had an idea. He patted the West Mouse King, who was still mourning the loss of its red fur, on the shoulder, "Where to next, you decide the direction?"
The West Mouse King lifted its head irritably and casually pointed in a direction, "That way."
Lu Qingshan nodded, following the direction indicated by the West Mouse King, his figure quickly disappeared into the forest.
Since it was a matter of luck, the direction chosen by the West Mouse King, who is considered to have royal fortune, should be the right direction.
......
After walking for a while, Lu Qingshan was certain that the location of Qingqiu was deep within the Three Thousand Great Mountains.
The reason was that along the way, he had encountered many Third Grade Demon Beasts, and even some Fourth Grade ones.
In such a place, Lu Qingshan did not dare to act rashly.
As the commotion caused by fighting could attract unknown troubles, he mostly tried to avoid the Demon Beasts.
Occasionally, hiding was not possible, like now, when about three or four li away from him there was a very well-hidden den.
Lu Qingshan had overlooked it at first, and had it not been for the West Mouse King's reminder, he might have only discovered it when he was right in front of it.
In the den lived a giant spider whose body diameter extended for several zhang. It was covered in green fur, which was quite terrifying, and its eight greyish-brown eyes glowed subtly, fixed on Lu Qingshan.
It had obviously noticed Lu Qingshan.
A chill ran down Lu Qingshan's spine.
This was a Green Poison Spider King, a Fourth Grade Realm Great Demon.
But it seemed that the Blooming Spirit Flower had an effect: although the Green Poison Spider King had noticed Lu Qingshan, it merely stared at him from a distance, unmoving.
It was only after Lu Qingshan had left far behind that the Green Poison Spider King did not make a move against him.
"This Blooming Spirit Flower truly is miraculous, though I do not know its origin. I have never heard of it before," Lu Qingshan said, marveling at the miraculous effect of the Blooming Spirit Flower.
Protected by the Blooming Spirit Flower, Lu Qingshan flew safely for half a day until he stopped in front of an inconspicuous small hill.
The place was full of oddly-shaped rocks, and the environment was quite harsh.
The ground was scattered with withered branches and dead leaves. Judging by the mess of the scene, it was clear that a battle had taken place here.
Lu Qingshan quickly released his Divine Sense to survey the surroundings. After a moment, something caught his interest, and he headed towards the small hill.
In front of the small hill, Lu Qingshan waved his sleeve, sweeping the dry grass and branches to one side.
A skeleton of a human being appeared in front of him.
It looked as though it had been dead for a very long time.
"This is..." Lu Qingshan's eyes shimmered with surprise.
It wasn't that he had never seen skeletal remains before, even having personally slain a considerable number of cultivators, so what astonished him was not the bones themselves, but that the skeletal remains before him were actually those of a mortal.
Because of the nurturing of spiritual energy, even if only bones remained of a cultivator, they would glow with a luster, markedly different from the remains of a mortal.
Yet the bones before him were plain and dull, even bearing many green spots, as if poisoned by some potent toxin in life, clearly not the remains of a cultivator.
In the depths of the Three Thousand Great Mountains, even he had to be extremely cautious, relying on the Blooming Spirit Flower given by the Qingqiu Mountain Master for protection. How could an ordinary person manage to enter?
That could only mean this person was not an outsider, but likely someone who had survived there since childhood.
It must be a village of the Human Race gathered by practicing sorcerers!
Looking at the remains underfoot, Lu Qingshan's brows twisted tightly together.
Mortals couldn't possibly wander too far from their dwelling places; that indicated that there should be a Human Race village nearby.
If he found the Human Race village, he could then acquire some useful information, rather than flounder aimlessly like this.
After pondering for a moment, Lu Qingshan rose and started searching the vicinity, using the skeletal remains as the center and moving in a circular pattern.
Half a day later.
Lu Qingshan looked at the small village not far ahead with a strange expression on his face.
It was indeed a very small village, with one rudimentary but solid wooden house lined up after another.
With just a sweep of his Divine Sense, Lu Qingshan grasped the general situation within the village.
There were nearly a thousand villagers, each looking very lean, with somewhat darkened complexions, deep-colored lips as if poisoned, and most had black headscarves wrapped around their heads.
Within the village, there were sixteen cultivators. Unlike those in the outside world who placed themselves above all, these cultivators lived amongst the mortals.
However, among these dozen cultivators, the highest in cultivation was only at the tenth level of Qi Refinement, posing no threat whatsoever.
What was odd, though, was that this small village of merely a thousand people had over a dozen cultivators.
This ratio was quite high and more than many large families could match up to.
But what Lu Qingshan found most incomprehensible was how a village of the Human Race with only Qi Refining Cultivators could survive in the peril-laden Three Thousand Great Mountains. Your next read is at My Virtual Library Empire
Logically, these villagers should have long been devoured clean by Demon Beasts as food.
After racking his brain for a while to no avail, Lu Qingshan stopped thinking about it.
Why not just ask and find out?
Thinking this way, Lu Qingshan directly headed towards the village.
At the village entrance, he was stopped by the wary villagers.
This was a middle-aged man who looked at Lu Qingshan with vigilance, "Who are you?"
The accent was thick, but the language was still the common tongue of the Human Race, so communication was possible.
"I come from beyond the mountains and have lost my way here," said Lu Qingshan politely yet without much concern, given his overwhelming strength. "Seeing that there's a Human Race village here, I wanted to ask for directions. Would that be possible?"
Hearing what Lu Qingshan said, the middle-aged man sized him up and replied in a resonant voice, "Are you saying you came from outside the mountains?"
Lu Qingshan nodded.
A curious look crossed the middle-aged man's face as he stepped aside, "Follow me, then. I will take you to our village chief."
Everything proceeded naturally, without any difficulties, which somewhat surprised Lu Qingshan.
He had feared that he might be compelled to use force due to obstinate villagers in such a remote and harsh place, but it turned out to be unexpectedly smooth going.
