Throne Of The Uchiha

Chapter 16: CHAPTER 16

Robbery and Murder

Three days passed in the blink of an eye, and the eight-man Konoha recon unit gathered once more at their hidden rendezvous.

"Captain," said Hyūga Ning, bowing slightly. "The situation is unfavorable. The enemy's supply base houses sixteen stationed shinobi—four Jōnin-level, and twelve Chūnin. Additionally, four separate teams rotate in daily for resupply, each team averaging six to nine members."

Uchiha Fugaku's eyes narrowed. The complexity was greater than expected—but not unexpected.

"Satomaru, Shinji—what did you observe?"

"Captain," Satomaru reported, "we consistently counted between eighteen and twenty-four shinobi passing through the entrance we monitor. Occasionally, their team configurations shift."

"Same here," Shinji added. "Some units return daily—likely due to heavy engagement. Based on their injuries, their casualties seem significant."

Fugaku nodded, piecing the intel together. It seems Sunagakure is facing fierce opposition in the western front, perhaps from Iwa or even rogue Rain-nin.

"Storming the supply point directly is suicide," he said calmly. "We'll suffer unnecessary losses. Nozawa, continue your surveillance. Look for a six-man Sand squad that has just completed resupply and is heading out."

"You plan to use their intel and disguises to infiltrate," Ning said, Byakugan activated. "Two Chūnin guard the entrance at all times. If we copy their chakra patterns and avoid mistakes, we might get through."

"Exactly," Fugaku confirmed. "With disguises and forged intel, we can bypass the heavy defense and destroy the supply depot from within."

Nozawa of the Aburame Clan silently opened his arms. His kikaichū insects streamed out like black mist, dispersing into the valley and splitting into three coordinated scout groups.

"Find us a safe place to rest," Fugaku said. "When the time comes, we must strike with precision. If we fail here, Sunagakure will become alert and reinforce the base."

"Understood," said Ning. "I scouted potential rest zones. There's a dry cave nearby, shielded from above by rocky overhangs."

Once there, the team recovered quietly. Fugaku remained on partial watch. As captain, he bore the burden of composure—even exhaustion could not show.

The Next Morning

By dawn, Nozawa returned with news.

"Captain. Six Sand shinobi spotted. My insects are tracking them—they've just left the depot."

"Good," Fugaku said. "We follow them and intercept when they're deep enough into the forest. No witnesses."

Guided by kikaichū, they trailed the Sand team past noon. The enemy briefly clashed with a patrolling Ame-nin squad before retreating. Clearly, Amegakure was still posturing neutrality—expelling outsiders, but not fighting to kill.

"These half-measures will only invite aggression," Fugaku muttered. "Rain will soon be dragged into a full-scale war."

They closed in on the Sand team.

"Prepare for combat," Fugaku commanded. "Ning—you and I will take on the two Jōnin. Aim to subdue, but prioritize silence. Nozawa, harass from range. Satomaru and Shinji—split and engage a Chūnin each. Kōda, you and your team take the third."

"There's a fourth Chūnin, Captain," Kōda warned.

"I'll deal with him," Fugaku said flatly. "Begin."

Ambush

"Shunshin no Jutsu."

With a flicker, Fugaku and Hyūga Ning vanished.

Ning struck first with Hakke Kūshō (Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm)—a silent but powerful Gentle Fist wave that staggered one Jōnin. Fugaku's eyes spun—Sharingan, fully matured.

With one glance, his target fell under Genjutsu: Sharingan—frozen in a vision of stillness.

A kunai flashed, piercing a Chūnin's chest. Simultaneously, Fugaku flung shuriken to delay the others.

> System notification: "Defeated a Chūnin. Minor eye power gained."

The trapped Jōnin recovered, eyes filled with rage. He launched into hand seals.

"Fūton: Daitoppa! (Wind Style: Great Breakthrough)"

A torrent of pressurized wind surged forward. Fugaku weaved signs in response:

"Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu! (Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique)"

A fireball burst from his mouth and collided with the wind, creating steam and a brief standstill. As the area became obscured, Fugaku quickly performed another Shunshin, replacing himself with a Kage Bunshin as decoy.

The real Fugaku circled behind.

Kunai flung mid-air—angled precisely. Some collided for redirection, creating a deadly spiral.

The Sand Jōnin deflected three but was grazed by four. As blood bloomed, his movement slowed—Fugaku's Genjutsu struck again.

Crimson tomoe spun violently. The Jōnin's mind faltered. Fugaku appeared beside him and delivered a Karate chop to the neck, knocking him unconscious.

They weren't prepared for a true Uchiha.

> Narrator's note: In this early war era, most non-Konoha shinobi had limited exposure to Sharingan tactics, giving Uchiha a decisive edge. But that gap would narrow with time.

Fugaku turned. One of Kōda's opponents was winning.

"Shunshin!"

He reappeared behind the fourth Chūnin and stabbed cleanly into the back.

> System notification: "Defeated a Chūnin. Minor eye power gained."

"Satomaru, assist Shinji," Fugaku ordered. "Nozawa—gather your kikaichū and focus fire on the remaining Jōnin."

This version respects:

Canon chakra natures and standard Naruto techniques.

The strengths of the Sharingan and Byakugan during the early war eras.

The typical tactics used by Uchiha: Genjutsu, fire release, and Shunshin surprise.

Accurate Aburame use of kikaichū for surveillance, not instant combat.

Realistic combat power scaling and ninja strategy.
