To Sin Is Divine

Chapter 25: Chapter 25: The Sinner of Balance

"You fought your sins. You survived. But now you face the question: Were you ever meant to exist without them?"

—The Sinner of Balance

The Chamber of Broken Chains

A massive chamber opened within the sanctum. Black stone walls spiraled endlessly upward. In the center stood a twisted altar made of seven shattered mirrors, fused together by divine flame.

And from its heart, it rose.

A human-shaped being, face constantly shifting — Serah's eyes, Ren's grin, Elyan's calm — wearing all of their strengths as weapons.

[Boss Entity: The Sinner of Balance]

Type: Divine Construct (Perfect Class)

Made from Sin Mirrors Kael_00 through Elyan_02

Objective: Break the Bearers' unity from within

It extended its arms — seven glowing rings hovered around them, each inscribed with a different sin and virtue.

Then it smiled.

"Let's see what happens… when your flaws fight beside you."

Phase One: The Reflection War

The chamber locked down.

No way out. No turning back.

The Sinner rushed them — mimicking each of their fighting styles flawlessly.

It matched Ten blow-for-blow, using Endless Sequence against him

Reflected Serah's Sacred Bond, binding Zayne to its side instead

Whispered Kael's doubts back to him: "You're leading them to another Lucien."

Kael blocked its blade — only for the Sinner to say in his own voice:

"You know you miss the feeling of being feared."

Kael flinched — just for a second.

Split and Staggered

Elyan raised a protective field, but the Sinner used his guilt as a weapon — summoning ghostly illusions of the innocents they couldn't save.

Ren faltered.

"I—I can't hit that," he said, staring at the image of a girl he failed to protect in Chapter 10.

Zayne snapped. "It's not real! Stay with us!"

Serah took a deep breath, activated Sacred Bond on Kael.

"Anchor us," she said. "Like always."

Kael nodded.

And began to lead.

Phase Two: The Fracture Shift

The Sinner split into seven ghostly clones — each one channeling a different Bearer's Mirror from before.

They were faster, meaner, and honest.

"You liked who you were in me," the Mirror-Ten said.

"You were efficient. Cold. Alive."

"You wish the pain never left," the Mirror-Serah whispered.

"It made you invincible."

Each Bearer had to face themselves again — but this time, not to destroy… but to accept.

Turning the Fight

Zayne, usually the kindest, stepped forward first.

"I am wrath when I must be," he said. "And mercy when I can be."

He cast Sanctify, disrupting all illusions.

Elyan whispered an incantation to break divine bindings:

"Your judgment means nothing without context."

His Resolute Voice shattered the Mirror-Elyan with a wave of truth.

Ten and Ren comboed, striking fast and low — not to overpower their clones, but to keep them busy while Kael prepared.

Kael's Final Word

Kael stood at the center of the room as the Sinner reformed.

"Even now," it said, "you know you could lead them better alone. Without hesitation. Without emotion."

Kael lowered his blade.

And held out his hand instead.

"They aren't holding me back," he said. "They're holding me together."

Behind him, the team gathered.

Seven Virtues aligned.

Seven Sins faced.

Seven truths owned.

Final Skill Activation

[Skill: Sevenfold Echo – Full Release]

"Fuse all virtues and unleash a united strike of perfect intent."

Kael's blade ignited with all seven colors.

Zayne channeled light into the hilt.

Serah infused it with will.

Ren added speed.

Ten, precision.

Elyan, faith.

They struck as one.

The Sinner tried to block.

It failed.

Because they weren't fighting it.

They were reclaiming themselves.

The blade passed through the Sinner's core.

And for a moment, the being smiled.

"So you finally chose…"

Then it shattered into radiant dust.

Kael fell to one knee.

The chamber trembled.

A final door opened at the far end of the hall.

Zayne touched Kael's shoulder.

"You good?"

Kael looked up.

"Not good. But… ready."
