Tohka Yatogami's: Marvel Journey

Chapter 141: Sacrifice the Programmer? Just Kidding

"This guy's insane—damn it."

As Doctor Octopus continued his operation, Tohka could clearly feel the increasing gravitational pull. It wasn't just this sewer tunnel anymore—even the whole of New York was starting to shake. She knew if she didn't act now, the entire city could be destroyed.

So Tohka immediately unleashed her spiritual power. At this moment, Doctor Octopus's attention was no longer on her. Even if he was gripping her tightly, there was no way he could control her.

"That's enough! Stop it now!" Though she said that, Tohka's movements didn't slow in the slightest.

Before the words even finished, she charged again, her greatsword appearing once more in her hand.

"Stop now! I won't let you do this!"

Seeing Tohka charging toward the reactor, Doctor Octopus went all out too.

Two of his mechanical tentacles grabbed her ankles from behind and violently hurled her away.

"You bastard! If this keeps up, you're going to die too!"

Slammed into the wall, Tohka angrily leapt back down.

This guy was really out of his mind.

She realized that if she wanted to handle that reactor, she had to deal with Doctor Octopus first.

So, bracing both feet against the wall, she launched herself at him with full force.

"You damn lunatic! I won't let you succeed!"

As Tohka flew at him, Doctor Octopus also charged recklessly forward.

All four of his giant limbs extended ahead of him—he wasn't even bothering to defend himself anymore.

Boom!

The petite Tohka crashed into the hulking Doctor Octopus—tentacles and all—sending him flying into the wall.

Just like Tohka before, he was embedded in the wall. But he was even more unlucky—his whole body was lodged inside.

The arm he had used to block her attack earlier now sparked on the ground, powerless and useless for now—whether it could be repaired was unknown.

"This is a real pain. Damn it, this isn't by the sea…"

Looking at the reactor ball emitting massive suction, Tohka could feel the terrifying energy fluctuations from it.

If she'd been indifferent before, now even she didn't dare attack it directly.

And unlike in the movie, this was happening deep under New York—not at some oceanfront building.

She wasn't even sure if this was the same energy sphere from the original Spider-Man movie. The worldviews weren't the same at all.

"Hurry… get it out of here…"

At that moment, a weak voice came from behind her.

Turning her head, Tohka saw that Doctor Octopus—whom she had just smashed into the wall—had regained consciousness.

His iconic sunglasses had fallen off.

Tohka didn't know what his eyes had looked like before,

But now they held no trace of madness—only bitterness, regret, and, most of all, fear.

"You…"

Surprised, Tohka glanced at him, then immediately flew to a spot near the energy sphere.

Withstanding the immense suction, she wrapped her power around it.

"Rise."

With a shout, Tohka exerted her full strength and lifted the energy sphere off the ground.

She pushed it upward—toward the ceiling.

Fortunately, the energy ball was so powerful that it tore the ceiling apart before even touching it.

Tohka flew upward with it.

The moment they left, the entire room plunged into darkness.

As for Doctor Octopus, he just stared blankly ahead, as if life had lost all meaning.

"Phew, finally done."

Outside, looking at the pile of unconscious bodies on the ground, Tony finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Not far from him, Miku Izayoi, wearing her spirit armor, said with some frustration,

"That Tohka—why didn't she say earlier that these things are weak to sound waves? Seriously, my armor has that function too! I just don't know if it's as strong as hers."

After Tohka left, they had fallen into another hard-fought battle.

Only when Miku Izayoi finished securing the crowd did she fly over.

To everyone's shock, Miku's voice shattered the symbiotes almost instantly.

With just a few more hits, the black goo scattered completely.

The black matter then reformed—taking the shape of a massive black beast.

Unfortunately for it, Miku was still too powerful.

After one exchange, it was beaten back to its original form. Maybe realizing it couldn't win, it simply turned into a blob of black goo and stayed put. Then Tony, in his armor, sealed it into a glass jar he had found from who-knows-where. A few people quickly ran over to gawk at it.

But just then, a massive tremor came again—stronger than before. The others could even see the building beginning to shake.

"Damn it! Why hasn't Tohka settled this yet?! Nick Fury! Resend the coordinates you gave her earlier—if this goes on, New York could be destroyed!"

Tony shouted toward Nick Fury on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.

There was no helping it—only he and Miku Izayoi could fly.

Even Spider-Man was getting knocked around.

Tony had no way of rushing over fast enough on his own.

"Wait a moment. We're tracking the energy source rapidly rising. Get ready. Also, Tohka took off her armor after entering the underground area, and she didn't bring a communicator, so don't panic yet."

Nick Fury's voice came through at that moment.

The S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier was no longer in concert mode.

Everyone onboard was staring anxiously at their screens, afraid to miss a single update.

They had good reason—this was a potential city-destroying incident.

One wrong move, and it could cause more damage than the fight with Graviton.

Suddenly, they saw a massive energy sphere rise from the ground.

At that moment, it felt like all of New York held its breath.

The next moment, small objects on the ground began flying up toward the sphere.
