Chapter 470 Stirring Up Trouble
The beautiful female spy continued to lead the way, and soon they came to a metal iron door. The spy entered the password into a keypad, and with a loud, rumbling noise, the door opened.
Lin Tian walked in, arm in arm with Xiahou Qingyi, into a conference hall of medium size, reminiscent of the large lecture theaters in universities.
In the center of the conference hall was a large oval table, with a huge multimedia projector at the front. Standing in front of the projector was an American official. Circling the oval table were fifteen seats, indicating the participation of fifteen countries. The stronger the country, the closer their seat was to the projector. Lin Tian glanced around and saw that Aras's name was placed thirteenth, the third from the last.
Twelve people had already arrived; it was 7:50, and the meeting would start in ten minutes.
Lin Tian had attended the meeting with two aims in mind: first, to find out what America was up to with this meeting, and second, to seriously disrupt the meeting, preferably instigating a major war between countries.
Plainly speaking, Lin Tian was there to pick a fight, but since everyone was sitting quietly, it wasn't easy to start trouble.
Lin Tian found the seat for Aras and noticed there was only one chair, and he had brought Xiahou Qingyi with him, making them two people. His eyes flickered as he thought, here's my chance for trouble.
He angrily shouted at the American official in English, "Hey, what the hell is this? Do you think I wanted to come to this damn meeting? You begged me to come, OK."
"Since you begged me to come, you damn well better take care of everything for me. You only provided one chair when I arrived with two people. What do you mean by this, expect the lady to sit on my lap? How do you manage things here? If this is how you operate, how can we cooperate? Why should I work with you?"
Everyone except Xiahou Qingyi was dumbfounded, thinking if Aras had taken the wrong medicine today. Such a tiny nation, daring to curse and rant in front of so many leaders, especially in front of the American officials—wasn't this courting death?
All present were displeased, especially the American official, whose face turned ashen, staring at Lin Tian as if he had the impulse to kill him.
As this was a joint meeting and America was the organizer, it wasn't appropriate to express anger before the meeting had started. The American official said, "There's only one seat arranged for the two of you; it's our oversight. Someone, add another seat immediately."
A spy promptly appeared and added another seat next to Aras's chair.
One does not slap a smiling face, and Lin Tian, troublemaker as he was, felt a bit ashamed as he and Xiahou Qingyi sat down, pondering how to cause more trouble.
After a brief thought, Lin Tian had another idea.
"Bang!"
He slammed the table and yelled at the American official, "What's the meaning of this? Why am I the thirteenth seat? Are you looking down on me? I demand the second seat at the front."
Suppressing his anger, the American official explained, "We didn't mean any offense. The seating order is arranged according to the size of the countries, all in accordance with the rules."
"I don't care," Lin Tian shouted. "I want the second seat. Sitting at the back makes me angry; I can't see or hear clearly."
The leader from West Germany, seated in the second seat, was Kenya Ni. West Germany, a European powerhouse with a population of over one hundred million and the world's seventeenth-largest territory, had a powerful military capable of conquering a small country like Aras in five days.
As a small nation with no real sway in international diplomacy, Aras daring to claim Kenya Ni's position and be so presumptuous at the conference prompted him to stand up and roar.
"What right do you have to sit in my place? With your pitiful country, I could wipe you out in three days with my troops. You should consider yourself lucky that America even invited you and gave you a seat. Don't overestimate your importance."
The crowd nodded in agreement, and even the American official remained silent, hoping to use Kenya Ni to suppress Lin Tian.
Lin Tian had been searching for a reason to cause a scene, and Kenya Ni's outburst gave him the perfect excuse.
He walked towards Kenya Ni, speaking with patriotic fervor, "My country may be weak, but we will not be violated. You can insult me, but you cannot insult my country."
After saying that, he lunged at Kenya Ni and with an open hand, slapped him across the face.
The slap was powerful, sending Kenya Ni spinning in place, wailing incessantly.
"Aras really doesn't know the limits of heaven and earth, daring to strike Kenya Ni."
"Exactly, they even rely on American aid every year. Some people can hardly get enough to eat, and yet they act so wildly here."
"Kenya Ni is known as a tough guy, nicknamed 'The Iron-fisted General' by the outside world. If Aras dares to slap him, it's not just Aras that's finished, but probably his entire country as well."
…, ….
"Aras, you dare to hit me?"
Kenya Ni moved to draw his gun, but they had handed in their weapons before entering, so he was unarmed.
"Aras, you just wait. For this slap, I'll make you pay back tenfold." Kenya Ni threw a punch at Lin Tian's head. Known as the Iron-fisted General, he was no slouch, equivalent to a special forces soldier, but compared to Lin Tian, he was still far from a match.
Lin Tian quickly dodged his punch and counterattacked, slapping him across the face again.
Speaking with righteous indignation, he said, "That first slap was because you insulted my country; I had to hit you. This slap is because you tried to hit me, and since you're not as strong as I am, I had to strike you."
Kenya Ni was furious. As the head of a major country, he couldn't stand being slapped twice in public.
He grabbed a teacup nearby, ready to strike Lin Tian.
As Lin Tian was about to retaliate, the American official stepped forward, grabbed Kenya Ni's hand, and pleaded, "The meeting time has started; let's not delay the proceedings. Do this as a favor to me. Whatever issues you have, we can deal with them later."
He naturally had to give face to America. Containing his rage, Kenya Ni pointed at Lin Tian and said, "You wait and see."
Lin Tian looked at Kenya Ni amusely and continued, "What about my seat...?"
"It's yours. But remember, not just anyone can sit there. You have to see if you can keep it; if you've got the guts, then sit peacefully," said Kenya Ni after finishing his statement.
Lin Tian looked disdainfully at Kenya Ni and replied, "There's nothing I'm afraid to do. Don't threaten me. I'd even dare sit in the first seat, not just the second one."
