Torn between passion and power

Carlos fell to his death. Cars surrounded the warehouse, and Alex got out of one of the cars majestically. If he was an hour or minute late, he didn't know what would happen to Avery.

He left Avery's apartment at midnight to get his thoughts cleared, he decided to go back to the morning but found out Abery wasn't in her apartment. Looking at the time, he might be at work, however, he called the office and found out she wasn't there. That made him anxious because Avery never skipped the workday. With his connections, he tracked Avery's whereabouts and found her in an abandoned warehouse, making him more anxious.

He rushed to the place with Samuel and Suzzy since Suzzy couldn't reach Avery.

The trio rushed inside, they checked everywhere and that was when Alex spotted a man hovering about a woman. He shot his forehead when he came out to check what was going on.

He runs towards Avery who is half-naked and unconscious, he removes his coat and wraps her with it.

"Avery, Avery, wake up. You can't do this, I have to prove to you that I'm trustworthy, right? Please wake up." Alex said slapping her lightly on her cheek.

Samuel marched towards Alex.

" Alex we need to get her to the hospital, let's go."

Alex carried Averybin a bridal style, before getting out. He halted when he heard the voice of Veronica.

" Well, well, well, isn't it the knight in shining armour, or should say the prince is here to save his princess?"

" Veronica, I'll make sure you pay for what you did to Avery."

" Oh really. I'm so scared."

" Alex she is not important now, let's go."

Alex listened to Samuel and walked out with Avery in his arms. He wasn't in the mood to deal with Veronica now, getting inside the car, Samuel made a call before driving away from the warehouse.

About ten minutes later, the warehouse exploded.

" Drive faster Samuel, Avery is bleeding," Alex yelled.

Samuel tried to cope with his friend but he was driving above the speeding limit.

" Which hospital are we taking Avery to?" Suzzy asked. Samuel was driving but to which hospital?

" To Edison Hospital " Samuel replied

" NO!" Alex rejected

Edison Hospital was owned by Charles's family and he didn't want anyone from that family to get closer to his Avery. They already have her mother.

" That is the nearest hospital," Samuel uttered

" I don't give a damn!"

"Alex, we are talking about life and death. Are you being stubborn about what happened in your office, with you and Charles? You're better than that."

" What happened in my office is none of your business, call Derrick. Tell him it's an emergency. Everything should be ready before we get there."

Samuel had to change the route since , they weren't going to the nearest hospital.

Getting to the hospital, nurses were waiting for them with a stretcher. Alex got out when Samuel didn't fully park the car. At this moment, the only this he was thinking about was Averys health. He ignored the people standing in front of the hospital, he held Avery to the emergency room, not caring about the gaze of people.
