Chapter 56: Chapter 56: Epic Forging Materials

Chapter 56: Epic Forging Materials

Looking at the two-meter-long wooden boxes on the table,

Ye Weiyang and Feng Ling'er both brightened visibly.

These were materials for forging epic-level weapons.

Within the human territories, weapons were ranked as follows:

Alloy equipment, Magic equipment, Spirit equipment, Glorious equipment, Legendary equipment, Epic equipment, Immortal equipment, Artifacts, and finally, Super Artifacts.

The further up the ranking, the rarer the gear.

For instance, Super Artifacts—currently, only one was known to humankind: the Throne of the Seal of Eternity and Creation, and even that was only known to the very top leaders of humanity.

As for Artifacts, they were so rare they could be counted on one hand.

Immortal-grade equipment was similarly elusive—rarely seen, even more rarely obtained.

This was why the vast majority of the elite powerhouses across the six major temples still wielded epic weapons.

But even epic weapons were incredibly rare, mostly held in stock by the Temple Alliance. To obtain them, a person needed a massive amount of merit points for exchange.

For an average powerhouse, merely touching one was a pipe dream.

That was how precious—and valuable—these two materials were.

Yue Ye waved her arm. Immediately, both boxes began to shimmer with starlight, revealing a complex array formation across their surfaces.

As the runes circulated, the defensive array around the boxes slowly dissolved.

Bang—

Both boxes opened at once.

Instantly, the temperature in the previously comfortable conference room shifted dramatically.

One hot, one cold—two completely opposite auras poured out of the boxes.

Even Leng Xiao, who hadn't been all that interested in the deal's details, was drawn in by the change and stepped over.

Under everyone's astonished gazes, Yue Ye pointed to the blood-red crystal on one side. A thin layer of ice crystal still wrapped around the red core, but it wasn't enough to suppress the blazing heat it radiated.

"This is the 'Fiery Dragon Heart', obtained by hunting a level 10 fire dragon deep within Doomsday Volcano. Its heart was extracted and instantly frozen using an ice-type spirit furnace."

"A core material for fire attribute gear. Equipment forged from this can include a 'lava eruption' effect, dealing continuous burning damage within an area."

Yue Ye then turned to the second box.

"This is 'Abyss Cold Iron', a metal formed from spiritual power compressed over thousands of years beneath the Eternal Frozen Glacier in the Demon Territory. The surface is covered in eternal frost. Armor forged from this reduces incoming ice-type magic, and significantly boosts magic and physical defenses."

After Yue Ye's introduction, not only Feng Ling'er and Ye Weiyang, even Lin Ze and Leng Xiao looked stunned.

After all, hunting a level 10 fire dragon would usually take at least one or two level 9 powerhouses.

"Sister Yue, where did you get these materials?" Leng Xiao couldn't help but ask.

Yue Ye smiled. "I have my ways."

She didn't answer directly, and then turned toward Feng Ling'er.

"Young Master Feng, with your experience in the auction house, I'm sure you understand the value of these two items. I won't say more. I'm asking for 100 million gold coins, and I also need you to help me obtain a free trade certificate for the Holy City."

"One hundred million gold coins!?"

Leng Xiao and Xiao Yun were stunned.

Even though gold coins weren't widely used among the demon race, the Yue Ye Chamber of Commerce and Bai Yue's return had begun normalizing the use of gold coins in the Demon market.

They were now widely accepted as a unified currency.

So they fully understood what 100 million gold coins represented.

It was enough to feed all the demons in Heart City for a full month.

Neither of them had expected Yue Ye's transaction to involve such an astronomical figure.

Even though Feng Ling'er had anticipated a high number, she still hesitated at Yue Ye's conditions.

"President Yue Ye," Feng Ling'er spoke carefully, "I must say you have a sharp sense of market value, but your terms... are difficult for me."

"100 million gold coins represents nearly half a year of income for the Holy Alliance Auction House. While it's true that materials capable of forging epic equipment are extremely rare, and the current political climate does increase their value—the likely auction price would be around 130 million gold coins—we also bear the risk of overstocking."

"And there's another matter. You want a Holy City trade license. From what I know, your Yue Ye Chamber of Commerce is already present in the passes guarded by the six major temples. If you take over the Holy City as well, that would almost be a monopoly over the commerce of the entire Temple Alliance."

"Even though my father is the President of the Holy Alliance Chamber of Commerce, he wouldn't allow it."

Interesting. Yue Ye looked at the young woman before her, several years younger than herself, and silently gave a high evaluation.

Though Feng Ling'er didn't outright reject her, she had tactfully made it clear that these terms were not possible.

But Yue Ye had expected this.

After all, negotiation was all about bargaining—and this wouldn't be their last.

More importantly, Yue Ye wasn't doing this for the 100 million gold coins.

Her true goal was to gain a foothold in Holy City.

As the most prosperous city in the Temple Alliance, Holy City rivaled the six major passes in both economic scale and strategic value.

If she could establish a permanent base here, it would raise the trade capabilities of the Moon Demon Clan, and even Heart City, to a new level.

In that case, the Demon Clan wouldn't need to start wars over food—they could secure survival through commerce.

She wasn't saying she could solve hunger for the entire race, but she could ensure that Heart City would never starve again.

Though Yue Ye had no strong allegiance to the Demon Clan, she loved the feeling of doing business. It wouldn't be wrong to say she was addicted to it.

And she hoped to live in a world with better safety and prosperity.

Yue Ye spoke slowly:

"Young Master Feng, I don't need to repeat the value of these two materials. My offer remains the same. As for the trade access, I can make a compromise."

She turned toward Lin Ze.

"Lin Ze, my younger brother, is now independent. I don't need Yue Ye Chamber of Commerce to have business rights here. I only ask for permission for the Chamber to freely enter and leave the Holy City, and for Lin Ze to receive an individual trade license."

"I believe that's not too difficult for you to arrange."

He...

Feng Ling'er was stunned.

She hadn't expected Yue Ye's revised demand to be this.

She turned to look at Lin Ze, dazed.

If Lin Ze became a registered independent merchant of the Holy Alliance, it would mean he'd be frequently appearing in the Holy City from now on...

And this request really wasn't hard to fulfill—she could approve it herself, without even consulting the Holy Alliance Chamber of Commerce.
