'Am dead. This can't be happening, am sure i hid that properly. Not even Morris knew where i hid it in my room'

Father"Alex i asked what is this"

The book in his hands is an introductory spell book on Dark magic,the same book given to me by Baron Jeron. Am not sure how father got it but i need to think of something

Alexander"I don't know what ....."

The words got stuck in my throat when i looked into father's eyes that showed disappointment.

Alexander"I can exp... "

In a loud voice 

Father"QUIET! Just how desperate are you. Dark magic plays with force that shouldn't be messed with"

Alexander"But...."

Father"I said QUIET."

I could only lower my head.Father massaged his forehead 

Father"One of you causes trouble in the academy while the other wants to become a dark mage.The two of you will become the death of me and the Ashwell Family"

Turning back at me, he asked

Father"Now tell me who gave you this book"

I wanted to keep it a secret but father seemed to be at his limit. I have never seen him this angry 

Alexander"....B-Baron Jeron."

Father"..tsk to think a mere baron wishes to play on a games. no he must be just another pond on the board."

Looking at me and in a threatening way

Father"Tomorrow morning you shall take a holy test, if there is even a hint of contamination on the core you are suppressing, you lose your head now LEAVE RIGHT NOW"

I turned around and walked out the door, i can see the sweat falling off Amon's head cause father's last outburst could be heard through the entire hall. Father is at the peak of Tier 4 and just one step away from cross the great divide at separates the Tier 5.

Right now i should worry more about my current problems instead of my brother's cause there is a high chance i might lose my head tomorrow. I gave one last look at the storm blade and then left for my room.

I closed the door behind me and started pacing around 

Alexander"I was a fool to think i could hide my core from a Tier 4. Damn Jeron said a newly opened core can be hidden from others but i don't think he meant a powerhouse, am done for"

Alexander"I got too greed. I going too die when i have just opened my core"

For one to walk the path of a mage there are three steps. One is sensing mana in the air. Next is opening the core which is done by performing a spell, but it is not guaranteed that successfully performing a spell can open the core cause if it were that i would have already opened my core. I have performed almost every Tier 0 spell there is yet i got nothing.I had stories of a girl who opened her core after performing her first spell and of a guy who opened his core only after he found the right element. There are different stories some show luck, others hard work but one thing is certain not everyone can be a mage. The last step is to form a ring of mana around the core

But now back to my problem, just like the guy who opened the core when he found the right element, i am similar when after awakening the undead my core opened which shows i am suitable for dark magic and are most likely to die tomorrow.

One of the effects of dark magic is that it contaminates the core but this effects are very slow usually take long for them to become critical. So where does the contamination become a problem, when one opens the core using dark magic. The contamination works slow changing the nature of a person to a ruthless, callous and murderous person.

People have tried to find ways around it but none worked so a taboo was set that every race follows including the elves 'NO MAGE IS OPEN THE CORE WITH DARK MAGIC' and yet dark mages still exist, a perfect example is me or should i say was me cause am going to die tomorrow.

There are ways to detect contamination, one of them is through the holy test using soul luminous crystal. That thing shows the purity of ones core

Thinking about it makes my head hurt so i decided to get some fresh air on the balcony. I looking at the setting sun for a moment i felt a sense of peace yet i knew it is all an illusion, i have never once liked the sun set so this is what it feels like when death is approach. I hate this world, the people, my family , no one understands me the feeling of powerlessness i have to endure. Three years without being able to awaken and yet just when am almost there.

"sigh"

Alexander"Am such a fool crying to the world won't save me"

Looking down I saw Amon being trained by some of the other knights it seems they are gonna work him to the born but it's better than being killed i guess.

"sigh"

Walked back inside my room

Alexander"Maybe i should just embrace Death"

...... At Erik's location .... 

Erik who was still bewildered by Norman's description suddenly felt something leave from his heart

Norman"Master, is something the wrong"

"No i felt someone call me....... must be my imagination"

Norman"Must be an abnormality with your ears"

"..... Do you perhaps have something against handsome people"

Norman"I don't know what you mean"

Standing up i felt so energetic, the feeling of a strong body is amazing but once again i felt something. This time it felt like something had returned to me

'I wonder what's going on .......must be because am not used to this body, i should try punching and see how strong i am'

Getting in a boxing position, i sent a jab yet the force that followed slightly shook the air around. I was somehow shocked by it but it turns out the wasn't there only only

Back in my room, just as i was heading to my bed. A spike of pain from my chest.

I clenched my shirt and dropped to the ground

'I can't believe i'm gonna die from a heart attack, am not even twenty'

Everything around me seems to change, even the pain disappeared. Looking around am i could tell am in some nightmare, am standing in a white room and in front of me is an open door but on the other side was nothing but pure darkness.

I felt like walking away and yet i could hear the darkness call me, whispering to my greatest desire.Not even knowing how, i found myself at the very edge of the door.

'Only a fool would walk through this door'

But my steps did not halt as i passed through the door
