"It's been a while," she muttered to herself.

Back in the day, when she roamed the seas, she encountered scenes like this all the time.

Even after joining the Rocks Pirates, pirates would frequently pursue her.

Back then, Charlotte Linlin was as famous and beautiful as the likes of Boa Hancock, Nico Robin, and Nami in today's pirate world.

However, unlike Robin and the others, who would typically reject such advances...

Linlin would accept, and in the heat of passion, she would win over countless admirers.

Following her, a man with long red hair caught up.

"Hey, you okay?"

With a snarky tone, Rukia said:

"Judging by the way you're dressed, you probably weren't a good person before you died, right?"

"But remember, this is Rukongai(Wandering Soul City)—the world of the dead!"

"If you keep acting this way, next time you're in danger, don't expect someone kind-hearted like us to save you."

Rukia, with her somewhat conservative mindset, gave her warning in a lecturing tone.

But Linlin could sense that the girl in front of her was genuinely caring and trying to offer a kind reminder.

Linlin smiled, not blaming the girl for interrupting her plans for a little fun. She followed up on what Rukia had said and responded:

"Sorry, sorry. I just got here, so that's why I'm acting like this."

Seeing Linlin's good attitude in admitting her mistake, Rukia's expression softened a bit. She glanced sideways at Linlin's chest and, with a stubborn tone, said:

"It's true, only newcomers to Rukongai act like that."

With that, Rukia crossed her arms, adopting a haughty stance, and then asked:

"What's your name?"

"Before we leave River Soul Street, I could introduce you to a reliable family. There's just one grandfather and grandmother, and they've always wanted to raise a granddaughter. Although you're a bit older, you'd still be a good fit."

"Uh... that won't be necessary."

Linlin looked Rukia up and down.

Gradually, she felt her strength returning, but for some reason, she kept feeling an odd pull in this place...

Linlin's bright eyes blinked twice before a cheerful smile lit up her face, leaving the red-haired boy—who had been too embarrassed to speak—completely stunned.

After thanking Rukia and Renji once again for the bread, Linlin happily accepted Rukia's invitation and decided to join them for the so-called "Shinigami Selection" test.

Under Rukia's guidance, Linlin, having regained some of her strength, finally arrived at a towering, imposing wall.

Seeing the grand scene before her, even someone as worldly as Linlin couldn't help but gasp in awe.
