Transcended into the World of One Punch Man

Chapter 6: ‏I hope to return soon‏

"My brother, why didn't you play with me? Didn't you promise that if you finished your tea, you would play with me on your phone?" Ethan's voice came like a gentle breeze, carrying a hint of urgency and innocence. He stood before me, his bright eyes watching me, waiting for an answer as if he were expecting news that would make him happy.

I realized I had been lost in my thoughts, holding onto the cup of tea from which the scent of honey had evaporated. I was recalling old memories, those moments we shared together when life seemed simpler, and dreams were larger.

"I'm sorry, Ethan, I was just... thinking about some things." I hesitated in my reply, trying to gather my thoughts.

He gently shook his head, showing his dissatisfaction. "But your promise was clear! I've waited for you for so long!" His tone carried a touch of frustration, but his bright eyes quickly returned to a hint of joy.

"Alright, after this cup of tea, I will be with you. What do you want to play?" I asked, trying to regain my focus.

"I want to play an adventure game!" Ethan replied enthusiastically, his face shining like the sun. "We can be heroes and challenge monsters!"

I laughed, impressed by his excitement. "Of course, but you have to be ready because I will be the strong hero!"

I took sips of tea while my thoughts wandered into the corners of my memory. I remembered how we gathered as a family around the fireplace, exchanging stories and laughter, forgetting the worries of the outside world. Those moments meant so much to me, like shields protecting me from everything surrounding me.

As I thought, Emily was playing in the corner of the room, busy with her colors and toys. I wished she could understand how important these moments were, how the simplest things could fill life with joy.

Suddenly, my mother entered the room, carrying a small tray filled with cakes. "Are you ready for a new adventure?" she asked with a smile, placing the tray on the table. "You can enjoy some cake with the tea."

"Mom! That's great!" Ethan shouted, running toward the tray. "We can eat the cake after we finish our adventure!"

"Of course, but you have to eat something before you start. I don't want you going on an adventure hungry!" my mother replied, watching us with eyes full of love.

As we ate the cake, I sat thinking about how these moments, though simple, created beautiful memories for us. Each bite had a special taste, reminding me that life was full of little things that made it worth living.

"Alright, let's start our adventure!" I said, placing my cup aside and grabbing the phone. "Let's see what we will face today."

We gathered around the table, and Ethan began to draw a map for our adventure. "We have to start from here, where the dark forest is, and then head toward the high mountain!" His features reflected childlike passion, and I enjoyed watching him speak with enthusiasm.

I added my personal touches to the map, and we began to plan our encounters with the monsters and the challenges we would face. Each new idea strengthened the bond between us, as if we were building a world of our own.

"Imagine we will encounter a dragon in that forest!" Ethan said, his eyes widening with excitement. "We have to be brave!"

"Yes, and we will need magical armor!" I added, starting to present some ideas about the magical weapons we could use.

As we imagined our adventure, I felt something creeping into my heart, a sense of peace. I realized that these moments, despite their simplicity, meant more to me than I could express in words. They represented a refuge from a complicated world, a life filled with challenges.

With the sound of our laughter filling the room, I felt that life, despite all its difficulties and secrets, was full of happy moments that made everything worthwhile.

I opened my eyes with difficulty to the bright sunlight filtering through the thick leaves of the trees. A light headache accompanied me, pressing on my forehead, making me mumble incoherent words. I started to rise slowly, trying to gather my strength, but my body felt tired, as if every cell in it was resisting movement.

"Good!" I said to myself, trying to encourage myself. At least I felt a little better, even though my injury hadn't healed yet. The pain echoed in my body like a distant echo, refusing to give me a chance to relax.

"Damn it!" the words slipped from my lips like a scream into the vastness. It seemed I would suffer for a long time from this pain, which reminded me of the bitter experiences I had gone through.

I leaned back against the tree, feeling the rough bark beneath my back, placing my hand on my face, trying to shield my eyes from the scorching sun. I wished I could return to my beautiful home, where everything seemed easier, where laughter rose above worries. True, I hadn't completed my studies due to the poverty we faced after my father's death, a time filled with screams and tears, but I decided to work to provide for my family: my mother, my sister, and... my brother.

My brother Ethan! Tears began to flow from my eyes like rain, flowing freely as if expressing all that words could not say. With my sharp eyes holding all the hatred, anger, and desire for revenge, I felt trapped by my dark thoughts.

"I swear I will do whatever it takes to take revenge on that vile devil; I swear I will make him suffer more than you, my brother." My words came from the depths of my heart, burning like fire, reflecting all the pain I had endured.

Just wait, my brother... damn it! I started to grind my teeth in anger and sadness, a bitter feeling mingling in my chest, like a volcano boiling inside me.

I had to leave this cursed forest now. I looked around at the dark trees surrounding me, as if they bore witness to my suffering. The winds were rustling the leaves, creating mysterious sounds, as if nature itself was warning me to stay away.

I felt the ground beneath my feet, a sense of desolation accompanying me with each step I took. I began to move toward the forest's exit, where the trees gradually thinned, allowing the sunlight to filter through the branches. The light danced on the ground, like hope renewing itself in my heart despite all the pains I faced.

I took a deep breath, trying to drive away the dark thoughts that were haunting me. The closer I got to the forest's edge, the more the sounds of nature changed; the birds' chirping became clearer, and the sound of the winds grew less sharp. I felt as if I was moving away from a nightmare I had been trapped in.

I advanced cautiously, my eyes scanning the trees, searching for any sign of danger. My heart was racing, as if every beat reminded me of the situation I was in. Every falling leaf, every branch breaking beneath my feet reminded me of the fragility of this life.

When I reached the edge of the forest, I looked back one last time. The trees stood like dark towers, bearing witness to my pain and broken dreams. I whispered, hoping I would never return to them again.

Then, I crossed to the other side. I felt the fresh air fill my lungs, as if I was reclaiming my life anew. The land here was more open, the horizon stretched far away, surrounded by the colorful flowers that brightened the place.

Finally, I would escape this hell...
