Chapter 1100: Chapter 1100 Mythic Beasts’ Dominance
Going back in time a bit while Lilia was still battling Argus, Roxene was also fighting her own opponents.
However, her foes weren't comprised of any especially exceptional individuals like those facing down Marcus, Mrazivý, and Lilia. Instead, several cultists and their summoned demons had attacked her.
None of Roxene's assailants were above level sixty-seven and the weakest were around level forty-five.
Certainly, the dozens of demons and cultists would be considered a monumental threat to most, easily capable of destroying most smaller to medium sized cities with ease. But to Roxene, they were merely annoyances.
With her Supreme Skill Absolute Awareness, she could keep track of every individual attacking her, and her Thought Acceleration unique skill allowed her to easily read their moves as they were making them.
'So weak.'
After sidestepping the lunge of a boney red demon wielding a spear, Roxene casually swung her paw and tore it to shreds with a single swipe of her claws.
In response to her causally killing this demon, the others grew more savage and chased after her with a maddening fervor.
However, this only made them easier for Roxene to deal with.
The demons' coordination was already poor to begin with and it was even worse now that they worked up into a frenzy.
Their only advantage over her was their superior numbers and they were hardly making use of this advantage.
Without needing to use any of her more powerful abilities Roxene quickly decimated the forces trying to kill her. One attack was all it took from her to kill even the strongest among her attackers.
Eventually the high-level cultists that had been summoning the demons grew pale and collapsed to the ground. They were nearly out of mana and the immense demonic energy emitted by the creatures they could barely control had overwhelmed them.
Roxene did not even need to deal the finishing blow to these people, as the demons that they had brought into this world tore them apart the moment they weakened.
Of course, the savage creatures turned towards Roxene after killing their summoners, but she obliterated all of them with a single darkness magic spell. Easily claiming victory over the foes that had dared challenge her without needing to call in the backup waiting to assist her should she require it.
…
Blitz bound through the sky as five demons that had the heads of vultures and dark red scaly bodies that were roughly humanoid shaped chased after him.
Black feathered wings sprouted out of the backs of these demons, and they had a long reptilian tail protruding out of them. Each of them wielded a dark blue sickle that was nearly black, and a trail of pestilent spores perpetually trailed behind them.
These demons continuously released ungodly screeches from their mouths and sent a debilitating sonic attack towards Blitz.
This forced him to constantly be on the move and use his superior aerial mobility to dodge.
Had it just been one, two, or even three enemies he would have no difficulties dealing with them, but the five powerful demons that all out leveled him were giving him a bit of trouble.
His ranged attacks were having difficulty reaching his opponents thanks to their high magical resistance, and getting up close put him in range of their spores that were so vile that they sickened him if he got too close. Though most would find themselves dead instantly if they breathed in these spores, rather than just becoming a bit sluggish and experiencing some minor stat reduction.
Nevertheless, Blitz was not just running around without a plan. Slowly but surely, he lured the demons after him higher and higher into the sky, exactly where he wanted them to be.

Once he had reached around twenty thousand meters above the ground Blitz stopped and turned towards his attackers.
They had followed him all the way here with a savage look in their eyes that lacked intelligence. It was clear that they had no idea they had been brought here on purpose and believed that they had finally cornered their prey.
'What pitiful creatures.' Blitz thought as he prepared to unleash his Supreme Skill.
A blueish white light gathered around his body, and soon he was glowing so bright that the demons after him had to cover their faces to avoid their eyes being seared by the intense glow.
This was only the prelude to Blitz's strongest attack. When the energy surrounding him had reached its peak, an explosion of radiant lightning covered the entire horizon.
'Overlord of Sky and Thunder.'
For a few moments it seemed that another sun had appeared, and the entire nation of Houten was bathed in a blinding white light.
When the powerful blast had cleared there was nothing left of the five demons that had been pursuing Blitz. They had been completely vaporized by the immense electrical discharge released by Blitz's Supreme Skill.
…
'What a showoff.' Inten thought as he gazed up at Blitz's attack.
The high-level battles happening all over the former capital of Houten were filled with flashy moves, but none had been anywhere near as far reaching as what Blitz had just unleashed.
Even those that had been wholly focused on their own fights could not help but be momentarily distracted by the brilliance illuminating the sky.
"Don't you look away from us!"
A frustrated voice roared out at Inten and several throwing knives flew towards him.
However, the fast-moving deadly projectiles simply bounced off of Inten when they reached him.
Thanks to his Physical Nullification unique skill, they were as harmless as a light gust of wind.
Inten wore an expression of disinterest as he turned his eyes back towards the enemies that had been trying to kill him.
Unlike his fellow beast companions, he was not assaulted by either demons or cultist. Instead, he had been targeted by a band of famous mercenaries that did not care who they worked for as long as they were getting paid.
There were eight of them and their levels ranged from seventy to eighty. Among them, not a single one was particularly strong as far as Inten was concerned.
He had yet to break a sweat against them, while all of the mercenaries were riddled with wounds and breathing heavily from exhaustion.
"Let's see how smug you are after taking this!"
"Phoenix Fire."
The band's mage finally finished casting his tier seven spell and released the strongest magic at his disposal.
It left him collapsing to his knees from the strain and bile spilling from his mouth from nausea, but there was still a confident gleam in his eyes. He was certain that his greatest spell would bring down Inten.
Yet as the great bird of flame reached its target, it suddenly warped and was sucked into Intent's mouth.
Once he had fully consumed the spell, Inten let out a satisfied sigh, and a plume of smoke escaped from his mouth.
"Not bad, but it was definitely lacking in comparison to Marcus'. I feel like I could hardly call them the same spell." Inten said as he smacked his lips.
The mercenaries all looked at him in horror after he had used his Mana Eater unique skill. Up to this point he had blocked their spells and other mana-based attacks normally. This was not because he could not have easily used his unique skill though, but since none of the other attacks had seemed remotely appetizing.
'Guess I should go ahead and finish this. I don't want to be the last one to wrap things up.'
Along with Blitz, Inten could sense that his other allies were defeating their own opponents. He did not want to get left behind and decided to get a bit more serious to end his own battle.
Every one of the elite mercenaries soon found themselves crushed by giant pillars, impaled by a storm of spears, or sliced up by thin, nearly inviable wires. All created by Inten's race ability that gave him dominion over diamonds.
It all came to an end without the Great Diamond Mouse needing to move from the spot he had been in since the beginning of the ambush.
