Chapter 151: Chapter 151 : You Can Tell He’s Insanely Strong!
"There are no cursed spirits around anymore."
On the empty street, Yukinoshita Yukino opened her eyes and spoke.
"Looks like we've cleared out everything in this area." Hachiman let out a long breath, his face finally relaxing. "How many did we take down?"
"A little over twenty, I think." She hadn't kept count, just gave a rough estimate.
She turned back to look at the road behind them. The corpses of the cursed spirits were slowly dissolving into embers and fading away.
"I wonder where Hayashizaki-kun went."
As for the person she mentioned—he had just finished demolishing an entire street.
"Hm?"
Standing in the midst of the rubble, the black-haired young man suddenly looked eastward.
Within his range of perception, a powerful curse energy had appeared—undoubtedly a special grade.
He turned to glance in Yukinoshita Yukino and Hikigaya Hachiman's direction.
"A semi-first grade cursed spirit and some no-name curse user… Those two should be able to handle it."
"It must have something to do with this incident."
Before the words even finished, the black-haired figure had already disappeared, leaving behind a street in ruins.
...
"Kid, you guys looked like you were having a lot of fun just now."
Jogo grinned, revealing a mouth full of blackened teeth. A purple flame ignited in his palm, its intense heat warping the air around it.
This is really bad...
Kusakabe Atsuya slightly lowered his stance, resting his hand on the hilt of his sword, preparing for an iai draw.
"Kid? I'm an adult, you know."
At this point, if he wanted to survive, he had to give it his all.
Strike first!
New Shadow Style: Simple Domain—huh?!
Kusakabe Atsuya failed to activate his last resort, a Simple Domain, which he relied on since he had no innate technique. The reason was clear—an overwhelming surge of cursed energy, far stronger than the volcano-headed curse before him, appeared behind him.
If even Kusakabe could sense it, Jogo certainly wouldn't miss it.
"This presence...?" The flames in his hands flickered and vanished on their own as his eyes widened, staring past Kusakabe Atsuya.
Footsteps echoed. A young man with sharp features and black hair emerged from the shadows of a nearby building.
What the hell...?
Such immense pressure…
Jogo's eyes widened at the sudden appearance of this black-haired man. The sheer malice and violence in his cursed energy gave him an illusion—
For a moment, it felt as if the one standing before him wasn't just some random person… but the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna.
His fingers trembled slightly.
Wait... am I scared? Of some brat? What a joke!
"Volcano-head..." Hayashizaki looked at the special-grade curse in front of him, pausing for a moment before suddenly recalling something.
"Oh, you're that guy who tried to attack Gojo Satoru… only to get completely wrecked by that smug white-haired bastard, right?"
"You little brat!"
Hearing his embarrassing defeat being brought up, Jogo immediately flared up in anger.
But to Kusakabe Atsuya, those words meant something completely different.
This guy knows Gojo-sensei? So he's on our side?
The tension in his body eased, and his grip on his sword relaxed.
Just from the way he stands… this guy is insanely strong.
Now that I think about it, Ijichi mentioned that aside from Mei Mei, we had another special-grade sorcerer helping us. He must've been talking about him. What was his name again? Hayashizaki?
"You're Hayashizaki-san, right? Then I'll leave this to you."
Without hesitation, Kusakabe turned to retreat.
Yeah, no way was he getting involved in a fight between special grades.
Hayashizaki ignored him, focusing on Jogo, who stood frozen, too afraid to make a move. He ran a hand through his black hair, slicking it back.
"This attack was planned by your group, wasn't it? What was your goal?"
His cold gaze locked onto the curse, his pupils glowing red in the darkness.
"If you answer honestly, I'll make your death quick."
"Don't underestimate me!"
A surge of cursed energy erupted into blazing fire. Jogo went all out immediately—against a special grade who gave him this much pressure, he couldn't afford to hold back.
The black-haired man's location was instantly engulfed by a massive pillar of fire, like divine judgment descending from above.
Jogo grinned.
"Heh, so much for that—"
Before he could finish, the fire was blasted away by an even stronger burst of cursed energy.
The black-haired figure emerged from the flames, unharmed.
"Pathetic."
Hayashizaki pulled his hands out of his pockets, cracking his knuckles.
"Looks like I'll have to teach you a lesson."
Black markings slowly appeared on his face, and a second pair of eyes quietly opened.
"Ryoumen Sukuna?!" Jogo's pupils shrank sharply as he blurted out, "No, that can't be! Sukuna should still be sealed inside that vessel! Who the hell are you?!"
His answer came in the form of a lightning-fast figure rushing straight at him.
Before he could react, a powerful kick struck his chin, sending him flying into the air.
Still airborne, Jogo quickly stretched out his hands, gathering flames in his palms. But just as the fire flickered to life, his hands were sliced cleanly into pieces.
And right after that, a fist rapidly grew larger in his vision.
That was... a slash!
Sukuna's technique...
There was no time to think. Hayashizaki's punch smashed into Jogo's face, caving it inward as his body shot like a cannonball into a nearby building.
A large owl shikigami appeared beneath Hayashizaki, serving as his platform midair. He stepped onto Nue's broad back and charged toward the collapsing structure.
A powerful energy beam, two meters in diameter, blasted out from the building, lighting up the dark sky with intense flames and filling the air with scorching heat.
In the next instant, the beam was cut cleanly in half. A massive slash appeared across the building, slicing through every supporting column and wall in its path. The upper half of the structure began to crumble, crashing down onto the cut surface with a deafening roar.
As the floors collapsed one after another, Hayashizaki burst through the ruins. He grabbed Jogo by the face and dragged him forward, smashing through the falling walls. The two of them shot back out into the open sky.
Hayashizaki then swung his arm wide and hurled Jogo like a baseball. Jogo bounced off the street, ricocheted off walls like a rubber ball, and finally slammed deep into a concrete wall. Cracks spread outward in all directions.
What the hell is going on...?
Jogo's ears were ringing, and it felt like stars were spinning around him.
Through his senses, he detected an overwhelming surge of cursed energy, darting around like a flash of lightning. His instincts kicked in, and he raised his hand to launch an attack.
Buildings ignited in flames out of nowhere. The heat was so intense that steel and concrete melted into a molten state.
A fiery tornado rapidly formed on the street, surrounded by countless fire locusts. Their vibrating wings created an ear-splitting hum.
Like a tidal wave of molten rock, lava surged toward Hayashizaki. But it split apart as if crashing against an immovable stone.
Fire locusts swarmed him like bullets, forming a dense barrage that enveloped him in an instant.
But then, a Great Serpent suddenly emerged from the shadows beneath Hayashizaki, coiling around him protectively. The locusts' fiery projectiles struck its tough scales, bouncing off harmlessly like deflected bullets.
As the barrage ended, the Great Serpent dove through the lava like a dragon returning to the sea, carrying Hayashizaki straight toward Jogo.
With its massive jaws, it clamped down on Jogo and smashed him into a nearby building.
A shikigami?!
What the hell is this guy's technique?!
Jogo struggled, pushing against the Great Serpent's jaws with both hands as an orange-red glow flickered in his palms.
But before he could melt the shikigami, it dissolved into shadows like a splash of ink hitting the ground—vanishing completely.
In its place, the black-haired young man was already upon him.
A crushing blow struck Jogo in the stomach, forcing his body to bend as he involuntarily coughed up a mouthful of purple blood.
Enduring the pain, he swung a punch at Hayashizaki, but it was caught by a raised palm.
At the same time, another hand slammed into his chin, snapping his head back.
Then came strikes to his chest, both shoulders, and the joints of his arms.
Fists swung so fast they left afterimages. In close combat, Jogo was completely overpowered. His body was covered in deep fist and palm imprints, and in the end, he was sent flying by a burst of cursed energy that tore through multiple walls like a storm.
Hayashizaki was about to chase after him but stopped as he passed by a building.
He saw a few civilians crouching in fear, trembling. He walked over, grabbed them one by one, and threw them through a hole he had slashed into the wall. Before they could even react, they were sent screaming as they fell from the high-rise—only to be caught midair by an owl shikigami, which carried them to safety, away from the battle.
This gave Jogo a moment to catch his breath while Hayashizaki was busy moving the civilians. He poured all his cursed energy into healing his injuries as fast as possible while searching for Hayashizaki's figure.
Soon, he spotted him in midair, charging toward him like an arrow.
But this time, Hayashizaki didn't attack immediately. Instead, he stopped in front of Jogo.
"So? Ready to spill your plans now?"
Plans... That's right. Geto and Hanami should already be at Jujutsu High, stealing Sukuna's fingers. My job isn't to win against this monster that came out of nowhere—it's to buy time.
Jogo, whose mind had been rattled from the beating, finally remembered their goal.
He slowly lowered his hands, letting his guard down. "Alright, I suppose it doesn't matter if I tell you."
"Our real target is the Sukuna fingers hidden inside Jujutsu High. The Night Parade of a Hundred Demons in Shinjuku was just a distraction to keep Gojo Satoru occupied."
Jogo chuckled. "Even if I tell you now, it's already too late."
"Hold on a second." Hayashizaki nodded, took out his phone, and called Gojo Satoru.
At the same moment the phone started ringing, the veil covering all of Shinjuku suddenly disappeared. A small figure appeared in the sky above.
Gojo Satoru.
He took exactly twenty minutes.
Gojo removed his blindfold, revealing his stunningly bright blue eyes. He felt his phone vibrate in his pocket, took it out, and answered.
"Hey hey, this is Gojo Satoru~! I've lifted the veil, but it looks like the fight isn't over yet. Guess you're not all that, huh, Rin-chan~?"
Before Hayashizaki could say anything, Gojo's annoying voice came through first.
A vein popped on Hayashizaki's forehead. For a second, he felt like he didn't care if Jujutsu High burned to the ground.
"Oh? Then I guess we don't need to worry about Jujutsu High anymore." Hayashizaki chuckled and hung up.
A second later, his phone rang again. Without even looking, he rejected the call.
Another second passed, and Gojo appeared right next to him.
"Come on now, don't throw a tantrum so easily," Gojo said, lowering his clasped hands. Then, he noticed Jogo standing there with an ugly expression and suddenly lit up.
"Oh? Isn't this the volcano head I twisted off last time? So this attack really was your group's doing."
Gojo grinned. "You got someone to save you this time?"
Jogo had only been trying to buy some time, but he hadn't expected the veil to be lifted so soon…
Cold sweat dripped down his face.
"So, what did you say about Jujutsu High?" Gojo asked, not in a rush to attack Jogo, who was already a dead man walking. He turned to Hayashizaki instead.
"They're after the Sukuna fingers stored in Jujutsu High. This whole thing was just a distraction," Hayashizaki replied.
"What?" Gojo's face instantly darkened.
"Why? Did anyone stay behind at the school?"
Gojo Satoru stroked his chin and analyzed, "The principal is there, but since the enemy put so much effort into this plan, they must have prepared for that. I'm afraid Principal Yaga might not make it."
He turned to Hayashizaki. "I'll head back now. I'll leave this place to you, Lin-chan~"
"Go to hell."
A slash was unleashed, but Gojo Satoru had already vanished. The attack landed on a nearby building, leaving a deep cut on the concrete wall.
Seeing Gojo Satoru leave in a hurry, Jogo finally let out a breath of relief. Whether Geto and the others managed to steal Sukuna's finger or not, it was time for him to retreat.
Hayashizaki set his sights back on the cursed spirit before him. "I always keep my word. As promised, I'll give you a quick and clean death."
He brought his hands together in front of his chest and formed the Yanmotian hand seal. "Don't worry, it'll be over in an instant. It won't hurt much."
In Jogo's slightly shrinking pupils, the black-haired young man softly whispered—
"Domain Expansion: Chimera Shadow Garden."
