Traveller's Darkling Legacy

Chapter 2: Chapter II : Arise

I sat quietly on the edge of the bed, still wearing black clothes.

I just came back from the funeral home.

I tried to tell my parents and ended up calling my father's aide, he immediately prepared a big funeral. There were many people coming, especially Savanya's friends. Rows of flower arrangements filled the funeral home. The funniest thing was that i don't see my parents.

Is it funny?

It was their daughter's funeral, but they didn't seem care. Okay father still in other country but atleast he can answer my call.. or mom, she is in the same city and even house but i didn't see her around as what i knew she is busy. But still, it was her daughter's funeral, was her meeting more important? They didn't come to check on Savanya's condition and even her funeral.

My eyes felt heavy, i cried too much.

I can't imagine what I have to do in the future, all this time I survived because of Savanya, if she wasn't there... would I be able to live alone? Savaya is always by my side, we share the same feelings as twins and the emptiness that I feel now is probably also the feeling of Savanya who until the end of her life didn't get the attention of our parents.

My cell phone vibrated in my trouser pocket, I stare at the name "father" that appeared on the cell phone screen.

With a heavy heart I push the green button and put the phone to my ear, I didn't expect anything.

"Felix, I heard from Jeco that Savanya's funeral went well, sorry I called you late, I just finished the meeting."

Jeco is the name of my father's aide.

I waited silently.

Wait... is that all?

"Nothing else?" I ask.

"Ah yes, I will be coming home next month, take care of yourself, listen to what your mother says, okay? I call u later," the phone call was hung up unilaterally.

I'm speechless...

Really?

Only that?

Nothing else?

Are all parents out there like my father? is this normal?

I put the phone down roughly.

My heart is tight. There was no crying or even a sad note from dad.

Savanya will be even sadder if she finds out about this, maybe i should bring her favorite flowers tomorrow.

Klek..

I heard the sound of the door to the next room, mother's room.

Apparently she came home tonight, I then got out of bed and left the room. I knocked on my mother's door and entered as soon as i heard her voice.

"Yes Felix?"

Mother is seen removing her make-up.

I looked at mother's face, they were same, father and mother... they were same, there was no sign of sadness from them as if Savanya was not their only daughter. "Have you visited Anya, mom?"

Mother glanced at me then went back to dabbing the cotton on her face, "Mom's tired, there's still a meeting with J Group tomorrow, maybe next week."

What?

I furrowed my eyebrows. "Mom, don't you care about Anya?"

"I've sent flowers, your father's aide has also taken care of everything."

"Mom is in the same town... even the same house, I don't think mom cares more than dad?"

Mother looked at me tired.

"Is Anya not your daughter? Anya has given her best as long as she has lived and received absolutely no appreciation. She even really hopes that you will come to visit her in her last moments, why yo-"

"We'll discuss it tomorrow, Felix. This doesn't mean I don't love you or your sister, I'm just too busy and tired."

"Okay?"

Those words, she asked me to come out.

I took a slow breath and nodded.

After re-entering my room, my hands start slamming everything, starting with my cell phone.

I cry again, I can't. I really can't stand it anymore.

Now, it's official that i'm alone.

I can't save the only sun I have, I was the one who should have died, not her. Anya wouldn't be as lonely as I am if she were in my position. I really don't know what to do. Anya.. what should I do? Should I just jump from the balcony?

I then sit leaning against the cupboard looking at the moonlight from the balcony door.

My eyes glance around the mess and stop at the book that is still safe on the table, the only thing that I didn't throw because Savanya gave it to me directly.

The gold rope is glowing, I blinked once to make sure, is this a hallucination?

I go closer and confirmed, it is really glowing! I'm curious but Savanya asked me not to open it.

But I don't think that person will come yet tho... I open the front page, it's blank? I temted to open the next paper but I hear something from outside.

Tak!

I turn around in surprise, there is someone on the balcony of my room and looking at me.

A tall man in a black long coat. His red beads blend with the shadow of the moonlight behind him.

I hug the book and lean back, wary.

Dag Dig Dug... my heart is beating wildly, I am afraid.

Restraining myself from screaming because somehow i feel like he isn't dangerous. That person open the door and approached.

I looked up stiffly, this man's aura was no joke.

"..."

"My sister left it with me, she's dead, I didn't mean to open it and I don't even know why you found my position, did my sister give me the address of this house?" I said in panic as soon as I saw that man open his mouth but close it again.

"Your sister? I came because of the coordinates of that book," damn, even his voice was as beautiful as his face. But wait a minute, the language sounds foreign... but somehow my brain processes it like the language I use every day, I understand the words even tho they sound strange. He looked down at the book in my arms. "You can open it?" I look at him back, try to face that scary red things. "Yes.. I'm sorry for disobey what your friend said.. he said to not open it but I did."

"You have to come with me."

"Where to?" I ask.

"You are needed," he didn't wait for me to react but immediately pick me up and put me on his right shoulder like an item. I still hold the book tightly. There is no intention to rebel. My body are weak and I feel my heart weaken like a naive person hearing that he needed me. A me? Felix Cohen who is always be Savanya Cohen's shadow? Savanya's moon.

Well... besides, I don't have anyone anymore tho, running away a little won't hurt anyone, I'm not an important person. Maybe I can rise again to be the moon for this person?

The man stepped out and jumped onto the roof.

"So this is how you came," I commented sarcastically. I can feel him glance at me. A strong wind came and I could see a shadow of blue light, it feels like a dream.

The man stepped like he was entering a portal and that was the last time I saw the roof of my own house.
