Chapter 4: 4.Luffy's Turning Point in LifeA Tale of Two Worlds
"(Hara) Sengoku: Why is your world so different from ours?"
"(Current) Sengoku: Why is your world so different from ours?"
Both versions of Sengoku sent out their comments almost simultaneously, stunned by the stark contrast between their respective worlds.
For a moment, they both had the same thought—"As expected of me, I was the first to figure out how to communicate between the two worlds!"
However, the more they used this strange method of communication, the more they noticed something peculiar. Every time they sent a message, they felt a little more tired, as if the act itself drained their physical strength.
"So that's the catch," Sengoku mused.
It made sense. If anyone could send unlimited messages, the screen would be flooded with spam. This restriction ensured that only important messages were sent, keeping the communication efficient.
The Mystery of Two Diverging Worlds
Despite their intelligence, neither Sengoku could answer the fundamental question:
Why were the two worlds so drastically different?
The Marines, the Pirates, and even individuals who were supposed to be the same person lived completely different lives.
One glaring example was Monkey D. Luffy.
In one world, he was a Marine Admiral. In the other, he was a notorious Pirate Captain.
There was no way this happened naturally. Something had intervened in their destinies.
To solve this mystery, both Sengokus reached a silent agreement.
"We need to compare Luffy's life."
The Absence of Pirates?!
"(Former) Sengoku: As the Marine Fleet Admiral, how could you allow your subordinates to be so relaxed? What if the Pirates attack?"
"(Current) Sengoku: Pirates? Where are they? I can't find any in this world. Sigh (frustrated emoji)"
WHAT?! There are no Pirates?
The Marines in the original world were completely shocked.
After Gol D. Roger's execution, the seas had become overrun with Pirates. Every island had its share of lawless criminals. The Marines were constantly fighting an uphill battle.
How could an entire world be free of Pirates?
Garp, who had been silent for a while, couldn't take it anymore. Following Sengoku's method, he started furiously sending messages.
"(Current) Garp: Luffy, you little brat! Who told you to become a Pirate? You've embarrassed me!"
"(Current) Garp: And where is that useless father of yours?! How did he raise you? Tell him to come here right now, or I'll smack him in the face with my slippers!"
Garp wanted to continue ranting, but a notification popped up.
"You have been temporarily muted for spamming. You may resume in 5 minutes."
"DAMN IT!"
While Garp was fuming, the entire original world was in chaos.
"WHAT?! STRAW HAT LUFFY IS GARP'S GRANDSON?! AND DRAGON'S SON?!"
At Revolutionary Army Headquarters, Dragon was calmly watching the screen—until he saw Garp's rant about his parenting skills.
He subconsciously touched his cheek.
That damn old man! Even in another world, he's just as unreasonable!
But something was even stranger.
Dragon in the other world… was a Marine Admiral?
And not just that—he seemed to be getting along with Garp?!
There were no slipper marks on his face, no bruises, no signs of abuse.
"He… wasn't beaten?"
"This isn't right…"
"And look at them—arm in arm, like some loving father and son duo. Disgusting. There's no way I'd ever be that affectionate with my old man."
Dragon shuddered at the thought.
"What the hell happened in that world?"
Kaido's Shock and the Mysterious 'Person'
"(Original) Kaido: Hey, you on the other side—stop pretending to be me! I would never say such sickening things!"
The other Kaido, the one from the peaceful world, simply chuckled.
"(Current) Kaido: It seems the me from that world has not yet untied his heart's knot. You have yet to understand your true self."
"(Original) Kaido: Bullshit! My only dream is to become the King of Pirates!"
"(Current) Kaido: There is no point in arguing. It seems you still need guidance—just as I once did."
"Guidance?"
"By who?"
Kaido's cryptic words only made the mystery deeper.
The Whole World Wants Answers
Everyone watching was hooked. Who was this mysterious person that had changed Kaido so much?
"(Original) Shanks: I'm listening. Tell me more."
"(Original) Big Mom: Hurry up and spill it!"
"(Original) Yamato: What?! Who turned my dad into this?!"
"(Original) Sengoku: I have to admit, I'm curious too."
The entire world wanted answers, but the current Kaido didn't respond.
A message appeared:
"Warning: Do not reveal spoilers. Failure to comply will result in a ban."
Even though nothing was said outright, the people in the original world were sharp.
"There's someone out there who completely changed Kaido's perspective."
"This person must be the key to why the two worlds are so different!"
Sengoku frowned.
He turned to his trusted advisor, Vice Admiral Tsuru.
"Tsuru, did you notice how he said 'that person'? It sounds like this person is responsible for all these changes."
But Tsuru wasn't listening. She had taken a step back, her expression unusually awkward.
Sengoku turned to follow her gaze… and his jaw dropped.
Sengoku's Embarrassing Discovery
On the big screen, in the peaceful world, another Sengoku was gently helping a very pregnant Tsuru sit down.
Then, he softly kissed her forehead.
Silence.
Sengoku from the original world turned bright red.
"WHAT THE HELL?!"
The entire original Marine headquarters exploded into laughter.
Garp, grinning from ear to ear, slapped Sengoku's back.
"Still strong in old age, huh? You never told us you had it in you!"
Tsuru, her face burning with embarrassment, immediately kicked Garp in the face.
"SHUT UP, YOU UNEDUCATED FOOL!"
But before Sengoku could process his public humiliation, the big screen changed again.
A message appeared:
"Comparison Begins: (Current World) Luffy vs. (Original World) Luffy"
"Viewers can vote at any time."
A countdown began.
「3」
「2」
「1」
The screen flickered—
And suddenly, both worlds were looking at the same familiar place.
Windmill Village – The Beginning
The quiet little village.
The Machino Tavern.
Inside, the laughter and cheers of Pirates could be heard.
Shanks and his crew were drinking, celebrating as they always did.
And right there, in the middle of it all, was a small, energetic boy—Monkey D. Luffy.
Everyone leaned in, watching closely.
They knew this was it.
This was the moment when Luffy's path was decided.
But in one world, he became a Pirate.
In another, he became a Marine.
Something had changed.
And soon, they were all about to find out exactly what it was.
