Chapter 22: 2?

With a sigh, Juny stealthily looked around the Isolated room.

In the end, everyone managed to gather in time.

Juny gripped the potion bottle tightly, feeling the pressure.

'If something goes wrong, I might really die...'

Looking down, Juny saw a liquid shining in many ever-changing colors.

They mixed and separated, creating deep shadows.

Juny gently tapped the glass before nodding.

"Alright... remember, don't open your eyes."

Having others present during a Sequence 4 Advancement is very dangerous.

One look, and one will be at a risk of losing control.

Seeing that everyone closed or covered their eyes without question, Juny didn't hesitate any longer.

She brought the transparent glass to her lips before drinking the contents in one long gulp.

Once the drinking part was done, Juny was very calm.

If she had the nerve to be nervous now, she might as well put together her will.

Upon ingestion, Juny immediately felt her body heating up.

A sharp sound rung through her ears.

It was not the usual, ravings or simple buzzing, it was a mixed and abnormal sound.

They were voices, familiar voices.

Tens, hundreds, maybe even thousands of voices resonated throughout her mind.

Juny clenched her teeth tightly, but a loud groan escaped nonetheless.

It was as if her teeth disappeared, her body was a mess.

But that didn't bother Juny much, she was doing her best to try and gather the thousands of unknown and intelligible voices.

She tried to set order, she tried to find sense in the nonsense.

As her mind rummaged through the words, her body and the space around her turned strange.

Her arm shook, moving to stick onto a nearby wall.

The door turned transparent and the floor seemed to fall into itself.

Her legs twisted before turning nonexistent.

Shadows spread, covering each and every one of Juny's features.

Her body shone black with Violet galaxy glowing through.

Juny tried her best, pushing away one voice after another, tuning them out in the process.

Her mind spun as her stomach vent missing.

She tried to speak but she couldn't find her own voice.

In and out, her mind was full with other people.

Juny hazily moved amongst the nonsensical and unfamiliar voices.

And finally, Juny found it.

Juny found her lifeline, something familiar.

It was a voice she knew well.

When she was missing herself Juny heard a beautiful and almost melodic voice.

'Is she okay? Why does she keep groaning like that... should I open- no!'

Juny grasped the voice, immediately putting a familiar face onto it.

A face of a beautiful red-eyed girl with golden wavy head appeared, forcing her attention away from the unknown sounds.

As if a trigger was hit, new voices flooded Juny's mind, but they weren't nauseating, they were comforting.

'That doesn't sound well... should I intervene?'

An older sounding voice spoke, Juny immediately placed a face onto him.

He had disheveled brown hair with tidy beard and green eyes, Degster.

'That's not right, is it? Don't open your eyes... Don't open them! Uh... wait. Is someone holding Dager?'

A different person spoke, a talkative voice, concerned about many things at once.

Even with closed eyes, Juny knew that it was the brown-haired Airina talking.

Then a mischievous voice appeared, turning her attention upside down.

'Hey! That's not good! Ugh... why did they have to put this over my eyes?! I can't see! And who the hell is holding my hands back?! Let go or I'll set you on fire!'

Even with her pain-filled mind, Juny felt like snorting as she imagined the long-haired Dager.

She felt like laughing even more so as a different voice overshadowed even Dager.

'This boy is such a piece of work! Why is he struggling so much? Don't even think about it! I know exactly what you're thinking you rascal! You'll die if you look!'

A slightly crispy but mature voice, Juny's mind calmed as she heard Shake's irritated words.

She was happy that she instructed the man with short black hair to hold Dager back the second she drank the potion.

As if it came in a package, a young man's voice joined with Shake.

'What is going on? Is Juny okay? And... what is that sound coming from the right? It sounds like struggling... is that fine? Wait, Dager and Shake are on my right, and Shake had a private conversation with Juny. Struggling... is Dager trying to look? No wonder.'

The overthinking voice obviously belonged to the Detective Kein.

The man with gray eyes and neatly brushed brown hair always enjoyed over-analyzing stuff.

'Hah... I can almost hear everyone inwardly panicking, Juny would laugh if she heard it. Meow... I'm pretty tired, maybe I should give my upcoming scouting shift to Kalim... no, Juny wouldn't allow it.'

With a change of pace, a calm and mature voice poked in from the corner of Juny's braid.

Juny easily noticed the black cat's voice, marking her as sitting in the corner of the room.

Next to her, two voices spoke up at once, silencing the cat.

'Is Juny well? Should I use a song? Is she hurt? I should take just a sneak peek... no- Juny would be mad if she had heard that... Darmine too, and Ellone... Le- Let's just keep quiet. If anyone is to speak up first, it's big brother Dager.'

'Woof! The place is a silent, no? Silent place is? A lot of sounds, no words. Woof. Keep eyes closed, Just in case. Yes, as the short lady... woof, Juny said. As Miss Darmine cat said. Closed.'

The panicking voice of a young boy and the confused voice of a nonhuman mixed together.

Juny couldn't help thinking that Tarkel and Kalim were a strange but also a fitting duo.

'I hope Juny's okay, I made a new medicine just in case, but... I don't think it will work on a Demigod... should I try it anyway?'

A quiet and slow voice came from Degster's direction.

The short and red haired Natia's voice was steady, making her sound very reliable.

'Hmm... Juny sounds like she's in pain, should I split a chocolate with her later? S- She won't mind that it was stolen right? She shouldn't, I mean... it was from Dager's hidden storage, it's not that bad.'

An energetic but also awkward voice of the teal-eyed Mariel took over Juny's mind.

After a while, Juny's attention slipped away, having heard a different tone.

'After this is done, will Juny be able to help me with my machinery knowledge..? I've been wanting to ask about it for a while now. Well, she'll most likely be tired, let's give it a while longer. I can ask about the magnetic functions later, it won't run away.'

Hearing the calm Jenica's voice filled with caution, Juny made a mental note to give her some better material notebooks later.

'The Beast Tamer's potion is much easier to digest... was it a problem with my Apothecary acting? No wonder Juny said that the Moon Pathway doesn't suit me.'

A face with bluish-gray eyes and highlighted dark-brown hair appeared in Juny's mind along with cold words.

Juny held beck her need to nod in agreement as a different sound caught her attention.

'This has been going on for a while... I can't help but feel worried about Juny. Is the time also a factor to take note of when it comes to High-Sequence Advancements?'

A harmonious, dream-like voice flowed in like fresh river.

Juny could instantly picture the stunningly beautiful Daimira with wine-red, layered dress and Chocolate-brown hair.

A slightly innocent voice flowed from right beside Daimira.

'I wonder how brother's doing... No! What are you thinking?! You're here to help Juny with the Advancement! Since when do you have a brother complex?'

Juny heard the pretty, but slightly dejected, voice.

She immediately grouped it with Villia, who became obsessed with her brother after almost losing him to an Evil God.

From the same direction, a male average-sounding voice rang out.

'Juny seems to be doing slightly better than before. I think it's good that there are three layers before my eyes, who knows what I'd see.'

It was a timid voice filled with emotion.

Lancer seemed to be appreciating Juny's intense level of preparation.

The voices blended together, suppressing anything unknown and unwanted.

Juny could feel her disrupted and stiff body slowly coming back under her control.

Scenes and memories of the connected people flashed, putting Juny's body together like a puzzle.

It was a catalog filled with Juny's experiences with the people present.

With each fragment and each person's vision of her, Juny's body parts mended back together.

Very soon, Juny opened her eyes.

The colors dimmed and black spots covered most of her sight.

But after a few blinks, the after-effects of closing her eyes too tightly disappeared.

Having regained her vision, Juny looked down at her hands.

They were black with the depth of Violet galaxies.

Her finger was missing and shifting, trying to find the right spot.

But it all soon calmed, it calmed and Juny went back to normal.

Juny looked up, everyone was still tightly closing their eyes.

Juny could no longer hear the voices.

As she was about to speak to wake everyone up, Juny's insides shifted.

Something inside her seemed to be blending and merging, making her feel nice shivers.

It was a sign of digesting.

It was less than a half of the potion, but Juny was extremely baffled.

'Wow... how nice.'

With a light nod, filled with satisfaction, Juny clapped.

Almost everyone flinched at the sudden sound.

They either opened their eyes or took off their blindfolds.

Juny couldn't help but smirk at their cautious expression.

The first thing that happened was Dager shooting a glare backwards.

"You're gonna make my hands turn sore!"

Shake lifted his hands in defense, smiling.

"That's because you kept struggling. Calm down, will ya?"

Dager clicked his tongue with a dissatisfied face.

"I was just going to take a sneak peek..."

Juny locked eyes with Shake before nodding.

"Thanks Shake, I knew you had it covered."

Shake chuckled, his voice deep.

Dager looked dejected, looking away, but still secretly eyeing Juny from the corner of his eye.

Ellone rolled her eyes before stepping forward.

"All went well?"

Juny looked at her fixed and non-shifting hands.

"Yes, all went well."

Many secretly let out a sigh of relief, the Advancement succeeded.

Juny was quiet for a second as her head tilted to look up at the ceiling.

Her companions were quiet, observing.

After a second of evaluating her new abilities, Juny smirked. (Mysterious Caster's abilities are at the end of this Chapter)

She looked back down, a wide galaxy-styled door appeared before her.

The door looked majestic, with Violet sub-color shining through.

After a second of staring, Juny stepped in.

Once inside, she looked back, smiling.

"Come on in."

She then turned away, leaving the door opened.

Amidst their confusion, the ones present shared glances.

'We can enter too?'

That question was written all over their faces.

At that moment, a small body walked over, taking step inside.

The cat, Darmine, disappeared into the Pocket Dimension, leaving everyone stunned.

It took only a second for Kalim and Tarkel to move.

Behind them was Dager, who practically ran inside with a smile.

Next was Ellone and Shake.

At this point, everyone else moved in, last being Daimira.

She stared at the beautiful door for a while longer.

After some time, she too, passed through.

She almost bumped into Lancer's back.

The average looking boy, as well as everyone else, stared forward in a daze.

The short Darmine frowned, forcing her way through the frozen people.

Soon. Darmine saw it.

The whole of a mesmerizing galaxy spread out all around her.

A mix of colorful stars and the shades of Violet hue underlined the white shining dots.

Right before her eyes was a large circular table.

In the middle was a majestic chair with very high back-body and short armrests.

It had black and Violet galaxy, the style which everything present had, even the other chairs.

High above the headrest was a complex symbol.

It was a swirling vortex with four outer stars.

Inside was an asymmetrical 4-pointed star with stars at each point.

On its two sides were chairs with golden and red glittering.

The chair with red sub-color was asymmetrical with some fire particles appearing instead of stars.

Above the backrest was a red symbol with a short, double edged spear and simple flames by the sides.

Above the main symbol peeked six similar spear-like blades.

The chair with pure golden shimmering was elegant, but also quite basic.

High up the chair was a deep red and circular symbol.

It showed a broken moon with symmetrical necklace.

Behind each grand chair were two shorter and smaller chairs.

Next to the chair with red glow was a chair as black as a starless night.

It was taller and seemed more mysterious, but also not as elegant.

Up high was a black symbol with slight blue highlight.

It was a complex circle with six asymmetrical wings peeking out and a spiky crown resting on top of the circle.

Below the circle were two pointed edges with two shards.

Once again, behind it were two smaller chairs.

Next to the chair with golden shimmer was a chair with short back and wide seat.

It was a seat unfitting for a human.

Next to this high seat was a set of small stairs.

On the forefront of this squared seat was silver symbol similar to a dragon head locked inside of a circle.

Behind it were another two chairs with similar but also different shapes.

Next to the dark and inhuman seat was a very elegant, aristocratic even, chair with green hues.

Above the headrest was a cyan symbol.

The symbol had stars placed on the lower half-circle and three sharp portal-paths with a star inside.

On the side opposite this chair was a chair with deep blue sub-color.

It was more rugged, but also dominating chair.

In this deep blue, golden sparks flew once in a while.

High on this chair was a symbol with yellow glow.

There were scales with sharp points. Hanging from the scales was a short tapestry.

Two short and thin wings grew out of the top.

Next to it was a chair with tall but empty back

It was wide and had two armrests.

The chair was still in the galaxy style with grayish and bluish highlights.

The sub-color was deep green.

Up on the back was a red circular symbol with a moon.

It was the same as on the gold shimmering chair.

Opposite was a complex chair with brown and gray motif.

Orange stars often peeked out, creating a sharp illusion effect.

Above the back was a light-brown triangular symbol with cogs and screws.

Next to it was a very elegant chair with slightly gothic theme.

It had deep red hues and high up on in was a red circular symbol with a broken moon and a necklace.

There seemed to be a space for more chairs, but for now, it was empty.

Juny already sat leisurely on the grandest and most mesmerizing middle chair, observing them with a smile.

Darmine woke up the quickest as she calmly walked over, lightly sitting down on the seat with a tall platform.

Dager showed excitement, running over and sitting on the asymmetrical chair with orangey-red sub-color.

Ellone sighed before walking in the other direction and sitting down on the chair with golden shimmer.

Everyone else soon followed.

Shake sat on the dark, almost black seat.

Kein followed and sat on one of the smaller chairs behind him.

The second he sat, the chair slowly shifted and changed into a scholarly style with a smaller symbol.

The symbol had light-blue background.

It was a tall tower rising up from an open book.

Behind Darmine sat Kalim, whose seat also shifted to be wider with a gray sub-color.

A dark-blue symbol of a complex flowing circle with stars as decorations appeared.

Tarkel skipped over, sitting behind Ellone.

His chair warped to be smaller but also have higher platform.

A bright yellow symbol of a shining sun manifested above his head.

Degster also moved, Natia and Mariel following behind.

Degster sat on a dominating chair with blue sub-color and yellow sparks.

Natia's chair behind Degster's began changing.

It turned wide and ladylike, with pleasant space for her legs.

Above her seat appeared light green symbol of a mushroom surrounded with two wheat strands.

Mariel sat on a chair next to Natia.

The chair turned thin with comfortable armrests.

Above it was a small symbol with a purple highlight.

The symbol showed a vertical eye with sharp eyelashes and a lower half-circle.

Airina gently lifted her skirt, sitting down on the soft and aristocratic chair with emerald green sub-color.

Next to her sat Jenica on the complex chair in a brown and orange colors and stars,

Unlike the elegant Airine, Jenica sat leisurely, as if she was in her own home.

Opposite her sat the handsome Gen on a high backless chair with blue and gray glows.

Last group to sit was led the beautiful Daimira.

She sat on the unique but elegant chair with saturated red.

Behind her sat Villia and Lancer.

The simple chairs changed shape.Villia's turned soft and noble-like, with light-red sub-color.

The same broken moon symbol as Daimira's appeared above her head.

Lancer's chair didn't experience much change, but the sub-color changed to purple and magenta.

An eight-pointed star with a horizontal eye appeared behind him.

As soon as everyone sat, Juny smirked.

"Well? Isn't it nice?"

...

Hearing a light knock, madam Mailey put down her pen, looking up.

Soon, a voice belonging to Theor, the butler, sounded.

"Madam, you've received a letter."

Madam Mailey was silent for only a second before speaking out.

"You may come in. Who's the sender?"

The door slowly opened, revealing a man wearing tidy clothes.

The man held a neat letter with deep Indigo seal.

Seeing it, madam Mailey immediately knew who it was from, without the need for the butler.

Even then, she still heard her feeling get confirmed.

"It's from Marquise Petrison, it arrived just now."

Madam Mailey nodded, reaching out to receive the elegant letter.

She opened it with a letter opener.

Her eyes moved as she read the graceful handwriting.

'To the Honorable Baroness Mailey,

It has been far too long since last we spoke, yet I have not forgotten the days when your sharp mind and unwavering resolve illuminated even the darkest corners of uncertainty. It was a privilege to have supported your endeavors in those early days, and I am proud to see the heights you have reached since then. You have always possessed a gift for turning challenges into triumphs, and it is with great reluctance, but even greater hope, that I reach out to you now.

I fear I find myself facing a situation that no amount of wealth or worldly influence can remedy. My estate has become plagued by events that defy reason: objects move without cause, mirrors distort their reflections, and a strange malaise has gripped my most loyal servants. At first, I thought these were tricks of an overburdened mind, but as the incidents grow more frequent—and more targeted—I can no longer dismiss them.

You, more than anyone, understand the precarious balance of trust and discretion in times such as these. I cannot turn to my peers, for fear of how they might twist my plight into fodder for their schemes. Yet I know you have cultivated... unique connections, ones that extend far beyond the reach of conventional aid.

Baroness, I humbly ask for your assistance. If there is any way you might call upon those who possess the skill and knowledge to resolve such disturbances, I would consider it a favor of the highest order. I remain prepared to offer any resources at my disposal to ensure this matter is dealt with swiftly and discreetly.

I trust in your wisdom and your ability to see through even the most tangled of threads. Please, if you are able, reply swiftly—I feel as though time is slipping through my fingers.

Yours in gratitude and friendship,

Marquise Jenefer Petrison

Petrison Manor'

Madam Mailey frowned, putting down the letter.

She gently tapped her finger on the table, the rhythm inconsistent.

After a second, she turned to the butler.

"Call for my daughter, tell her that I need to speak to her about something."

...

"What? A Marquise?"

Juny put down her work, looking dumbfounded at Airina.

Airina nodded, peeking over at Juny's desk before looking at the, already opened, letter.

"Marquise Petrison is a friend of my mother. They know each other since my mother was still a successful merchant. I- I don't know how she knew of my mother's connection to us..."

Juny sighed, looking up at the ceiling.

"How do we know that she's talking about the Abyssal Troop?"

Airina looked at the letter, sidestepping.

"A Marquise has more ways to get information than even the police and the Churches... she probably knows."

Juny massaged the bridge of her nose, groaning.

"Nobles are such a pain in the ass... I'm sorry Airine, I didn't mean that."

Realing that she's said it out loud, Juny immediately apologized to the young noble before her.

Airina smiled before shaking her head.

"No problem at all. I kind of agree. Only kind of."

Juny nodded and reached out.

Airine immediately handed her the letter.

Opening it, Juny skimmed through it before leaning back.

"Why would she do something so unnecessary?"

Airina gently tilted her head.

"What do you mean?"

Juny looked away from the letter.

"She's a Marquise, why would she try to contact us? For something like this, the Church would be so much better. There's no way she doesn't know about Beyonders."

Airina flinched, her eyes moving towards the letter.

"Maybe she doesn't trust the Church?"

Juny hummed before smiling.

"Or there's more to the story than it seems."

With a light nod, Juny placed the letter back into its seal and handed it back to Airina.

"Let Madam Mailey tell the Marquise that we'll check it out. We'll disguise it to the outside as the Maileys paying a visit to Madam Petrison's mansion. We'll be your bodyguards. I'll send Dager and hmm... Gen should do well. Darmine will also be monitoring nearby."

"If anything happens, use this and I'll help."

As she said that, Juny pulled a small ring with an Emerald star decoration out of her Pocket Dimension.

"This is?"

Airina asked while reaching out.

"It's a finished product, took me a lot of time to correctly connect it. It lets you enter the Troop's meeting place without me present. Don't borrow it to anyone, only you can inject the spirituality."

Airina's mouth gaped.

"You can do that- wait. Is this why you needed my blood?"

Juny nodded, admiring her own beautiful work from afar.

"Yes, the process was so much more complicated because I made it into a ring. I had to make Runes to make the Engraved Runes smaller and more mumbo jumbo that you don't need to know."

Airina was silent, staring at the star sparkling with Emerald color.

After a moment, she finally looked up.

"But why Dager? I mean, Gen does look like a bodyguard, but Dager... well."

Juny nodded as her expression turned serious.

"I understand what you mean, but there is a point behind my reasoning."

Juny leaned back, explaining herself.

"Dager not only has good Spiritual Vision, but also the tracking abilities of a Hunter. If there's anything in that estate, living or not, Dager will find it before Darmine, Ellone or maybe even me. Dager is already a strong Sequence 6, he'll be able to buy time as long as a Demigod doesn't attack. And also, I can't go handle every mission personally. As long as nothing goes wrong, I'll only offer some advice."

Juny then looked up at the ceiling in thought.

"As for Gen, well... he needs to get used to cooperation, acting, as well as handling supernatural phenomena. I have an inkling that the Marquise is not what she seems like."

Juny closed her eyes, taking in the feeling of suspicion before looking away from the ceiling.

"I'll tell Dager and Gen right away, I also need to get them some gentlemanly clothes that won't suffocate them."

Airina decided to ignore Juny's subconscious mumbling and looked back at the ring.

Juny soon nodded to herself.

"Alright, you can go inform Madam Mailey."

Airina nodded, turning around and clicking her door behind her.

Juny stared at the door blankly.

After a few seconds, Juny's eyes turned outside of her window.

Then down at her desk.

A light tapping sound resounded in the silent room.

After a while, Juny stood up with a frown.

'It feels staged, or is it just my imagination?'

...

Dager looked into the mirror, wearing a displeased expression.

"What's taking you so long?"

Dager turned towards the now opened door.

He sighed as he saw the handsome Gen.

'Why does he look so freakishly good in a suit?'

He cursed inwardly, staring back at his own reflection.

"Are you deaf?"

"Ugh!"

After being urged for the second time, Dager turned around and walked towards the door.

Gen moved to the side while receiving a sharp glare from the young man.

He kept his face calm as Dager walked past him and made his way out of the Mailey estate.

Gen followed him from a reasonable distance.

As he exited the mansion, Gen saw a big, but not over-decorated, carriage.

Outside stood an elegant young lady with emerald green eyes and long, light-brown hair.

Dager stealthily nodded as a greeting before looking around.

Since he was acting as a bodyguard, talking straightforwardly with his employer seemed rude no matter how ignorant one was.

Gen rolled his eyes, making sure noone would notice.

Then, he opened the carriage door and stepped to the side.

Airina smiled, seeing Gen extend his hand, she took it as a support before moving into the carriage.

Gen followed behind and last was Dager, who closed the door behind.

The inside of the carriage was actually quite spacious.

After looking around for a second, Dager sat opposite Airina and next to Gen.

After a moment, the carriage moved.

Dager leaned back, exhaling.

He felt like removing the tie, but he knew he'd get scolded later.

He looked out of the window before asking.

"So what's the deal with this Marquise?"

"You..."

Hearing his disrespectful question, Gen couldn't help but exclaim.

Dager tilted his head, but didn't pay much mind to Gen's comment.

Airina didn't seem very surprised by the rude inquiry and just asked in response.

"Didn't Juny give you the document with information?"

Dager's expression turned momentarily frightened before returning to normal.

"She did."

"Then why are you asking?"

Gen felt that this young man was very strange.

Dager looked at him for a second before shamelessly turning away.

"I didn't read it."

Airina gently clenched her fists.

She still remembered Juny's warning, so she expected it.

'I gave him the documents and even warned him to seriously look through it. I even threatened. But he won't read it. He will probably ask on the way there, don't lose your cool. If it's really bad, you have the ring. I'll drag him out by the ear.'

Reimagining Juny's stone cold and serious expression, Airina relaxed and answered.

"Marquise Petrison is one of the richest and most influential nobles below the title of a Duke. Before marrying into a Marquise lineage, she was from a Viscount background. But her family is very strict when it comes to heritage, so as the youngest daughter, she was forgotten very soon. Her husband died because of assassination and the child which she birthed not too long after also died. They say it had something to do with her weakened state, but my mother believes there is more behind it."

Dager nodded, strangely listening more intently than Airina expected.

Feeling relieved that her nerves won't explode, Airina continued to say the most important.

"Since her husband, the Marquis, had no siblings or close relatives, Marquise Petrison succeeded the title. My mother met her shortly after the tragedy. She said that the Marquise was always very cold and sometimes even cruel. But my mother was a skilled merchant, she was always good at seeing deeper into the real emotions of others. It seems that the Marquise really wishes to trust, but for unknown reasons, she's overly cautious and doubts others a lot."

"She's so suspicious of strangers, that she can even be aggressive. I don't know how, but the two got very close after a while. My mother was quite unwilling to explain any further than that. Anyway, the Marquise is not someone with light words. If she says there's something mystical happening in her manor, there probably is something supernatural about it."

"I'm not entirely sure why mother decided to stay behind, she even made excuses concerning her workload... Never mind. The Marquise has a strong oppressive aura and can be really authoritative. So just be silent and let me or Gen do the talking. We're not here to fight and cause a scene but to help the Marquise, yes?"

Dager flinched, looking hurt.

"What... me? But I never do anything too bad~"

He grumbled silently.

The two swiftly ignored it, as if he was talking in a monologue.

Gen looked down at his hand.

The sleeve of his shirt was held together with a stylish silver cufflink with a light blue shimmer.

It was quite elegant, but also not very eye catching.

As he observed it, he asked nonchalantly.

"Darmine is already there?"

Airina nodded.

"That's how we planned it."

She then looked at her finger, and at the elegant ring with emerald green star decoration.

Dager watched the two with a blank look.

He then looked at his own reflection in the glass.

Dager could see a fiery red earring sparkling and reflecting the shining sun.

He smiled before quickly returning to normal.

He never thought he would look so good with an earring.

Although it was mainly because Juny worked her ass off so hard she almost shed tears.

But Dager couldn't know that.

After a second he looked away, making an innocent-looking expression.

"So when I see the Marquise I should-"

"Shut up!"

"Just be quiet."

Dager froze mid-sentence, leaving his mouth opened.

'Huh?'

Seeing the sharp glares from his two companions, he slowly closed his mouth.

Swallowing back his words, Dager looked dejectedly back out of the window.

'You know that I am higher than you when it comes to positions in the organization, right? I feel like it's often being forgotten.'

He pouted, complaining inwardly.

'I am the third highest when it comes to hierarchy, you know? ...I am at least one Sequence higher than the both of you! A whole Sequence higher!'
